Lautoka Snorkeling Excursion Reviews

Though Lautoka itself doesn't offer much in the way of diversions, it's a convenient access point for excursions at some of the nearby islands, which offer excellent snorkeling options.

Fijian beachcombers island, one of the best small island to visit. We got there after 3.5 day of sea travel with Royal Carabine cruise ship(Voyage of the sea)arrived 12 noon. We had limited time to go to Beachcomber Island and come back to ship. When we get of the ship shore excursion tours were waiting for us. Do not booked any tour from ship, it is expansive and not good as outside local tours. The JESARIL TOURS (FIJI) was cheap and very helpful. The lady name LUCIY VARAMO the tour organiser very warm, smile face ,trustable person, no had ache what’s ever. I always give chance to local tour operators to get benefit from tourism. Lucy quickly got us in the small bus take us to port go to island with bout. This was including bout trip return, lunch and snorkelling nearby beautiful island. Special thanks to LUCY and her team done fantastic job make this day possible. PH 9737928 Read Less

We caught the shuttle into town in the morning, and did the Excitor trip to Bounty Island for snorkelling in the afternoon. The shuttle into town is $8 USD per person, unless you’ve booked on to another shore excursion, then it’s free. There are markets and shops in town – we just walked around and went through the fruit and vege markets. Bounty Island was beautiful, and the snorkelling tour was the highlight of our trip. I was really worried when I saw the Excitor (which looks like a fast jet boat, and I’m a sook), but the trip was smooth and straight! After the snorkelling tour, there was time to do your own thing and relax on the beach (or go for another snorkel!) Visibility was great and conditions were mild, making it good for young kids. We took the Tivua Island Experience and it was dreadful. The boat that brought us to Tivua and back moved at a snail's pace. It was hot and besides a small cup of juice you're given when you get on, no other beverage is offered until lunch. There was supposed to be some sort of welcome ceremony - didn't happen. As for Tivua being an island, it was in that it was some land (about 1000 square feet) in the water. The lunch that was served was average at best, although the bar was open for beer, wine and sodas during the entire time we were on the island. The snorkeling was good, but a strong current made getting back a bit of a challenge. The return trip seemed endless as the "staff" on board tried to distract everyone by singing such native songs as "When the saints come marching in". Read Less

The weather was a bit windy and made snorkelling harder.
Sail Date: February 2016
The weather was a bit windy and made snorkelling harder. The seating/shade for people is inadequate unless you sit in the large covered lunch area. Food was good and Savala Island is small and reasonable to visit
