Great Stirrup Cay Snorkeling Excursion Reviews

Take a dive in turquoise waters to take in the scenic seascape and be surrounded by hoards of fish swarming around you.
Bring your own gear.
Sail Date: August 2019
Bring your own gear. It is right where you get off. $30 per person for leaky masks and used snorkels is too much.

For $30, the snorkeling process was very simple. The equipment was clean and in good shape. The island is nice, like all private islands. We walked around to see what was there and then jumped right in to some snorkeling. There wasn't a lot to see but the area was nice and calm and it was a good time regardless. There were a few areas with some fish to look at but overall it was fairly sparse. For the price though it was a good deal and a great relaxing way to spend the day. Read Less

$30 a person to rent crappy snorkel equipment is a rip off. If you wanted a full face mask...up charge. The reef is beautiful, the sunken garden was fun, lots of fish, but way over priced.

I have my own snorkel and fins so went right off the beach. You have to get further out past the people who kick up the sand. When it gets like 10+ feet deep you see so much more. There are fish around, and I found the snorkel garden, some interesting sculptures that fish take refuge near. I went out past the large rocks at the outside of the main beach lagoon and it got deeper but the rock crevices had so many fish! I saw a few small grouper and a parrotfish! Really cool, also saw a puffer and schools of other marine life. Read Less

This destination is awful. Expect to spend 4 hours on the island before getting back on the ship due to the lengthy tendering process. If you plan to eat or dink, do it in the first 2 hours because they close it down by then. The actual swimming area is unbelievably crowded - no fun at all. There was very little to see while snorkeling, and the snorkeling area is quite a swim from shore. I didn't use the life jacket, but if you're not in decent shape, you should consider using it. Better yet - avoid this cruise altogether. In fact, avoid NCL altogether. Read Less

We did reef snorkeling and sand bar break. The crew on the party boat was awesome however we were not able to snorkel as much as we would have liked due to the jelly fish that were in the water. Other guests did not mind them or the stings but we had a great aversion to this. But the crew made our time enjoyable on the. Boat while we waited. We did get out and float on the sand bar area.
