Charlottetown (Prince Edward Island) Culinary Tour Excursion Reviews

There is much to see and explore in Prince Edward Island's Charlottetown, but if you love seafood, a culinary tour is no-brainer. You'll get to sample the freshest seafood, visit some local favorites and even try some unexpected treats.

It is what it says it is. If you like food (especially oysters and mussels) you'll enjoy it. It's a walking tour which you're going to need anyway after several days on a cruise ship. Ironic you'll be eating though. Our guide, Paul, was excellent and provided a wealth of information about the industries of lobster, oysters, and mussels as well as history of the area. Very well done. Read Less

We could have had a better experience if the had given us the addresses of the two stops and told us to go on our own. The guide did explain a little about the church and the adopt a corner gardens. Way overpriced. Read Less

In Charlottetown on PEI, many excursions were offered. We took the Lighthouse and Wine Cellar tour, while most people chose one with the Anne of Green Gables house. Our tour took us to two lighthouses (Point Prim and Wood Islands) and a winery (Rossignol) for five samples of local wines. It was four hours in total and I would recommend it if you want something different than Anne. Read Less

This excursion was supposed to take place in the afternoon, leaving at 12:45, and we had planned to explore Charlottetown in the morning first. Instead HAL split the group and moved us to an 8:30AM departure - not too happy about that at all. Our guide was so-so, and the visit to two lighthouses was fine except there was not a lot of time at each one. The winery was a nice visit to their shop - not much to see in terms of the vineyard itself. You do get to sample/taste, and we found the Maple dessert wine very good. After the excursion we had lunch in town and explored some on our own. Excellent fish and chips at the Water Prince Corner Shop (it does get very busy), and Cows ice cream for dessert. Read Less
