St. Maarten Snuba Excursion Reviews

A St. Maarten snuba excursion is ideal for travelers who want to get a glimpse of the island's sea life, but aren't quite ready for deep sea diving. It's a cross between snorkel and scuba that works for a wide range of ages and experience levels.
We booked helmet diving independently, but ended up being with a ship tour from another ship.

The helmet diving was awesome! We saw so many fish and other things. It was a little disorienting, but once you got used to it, it wasn't bad. Read Less

This shore excursion was awesome!
Sail Date: February 2018
This shore excursion was awesome! I had never done the snuba thing before, and I totally enjoyed walking around 20 feet under looking at all of the things going on. The company was great, and I felt very safe the whole time.

Beautiful place. We did the snuba trip and enjoyed it. You take a 10 minute boat ride to an area with a few man made reefs to snuba and snorkel in shallow water. The area was very crowded because it seemed like all the snorkeling, snuba and diving tours went to the same location. We have a group of 5 and the snuba groups are broken into groups of 4. The first 2 groups going out had 2 groups of 4 going out. We were told they would try to have us go at the same time at least because we couldn’t go together. Apparently it was too difficult or confusing for them to allow our family to go out at the same time so we couldn’t all snorkel together which is the point of a family vacation. They said they would try to send us out at the same time but it didn’t happen. My wife was still suffering the severe effects of the Fire Coral and had trouble breathing at the end of the snuba dive. It was good but could have been much more enjoyable if we had been able to at least snorkel together at the same time. It's a great way to introduce kids to scuba and it's still great if you have scuba dived before. There is a lot to look at underwater here. I would recommend it and will scuba dive it if we go back here again. Read Less

Sea Trek of St. Maarten was a lot of fun. We did the excursion with two friends. If you wear glasses, this is a great chance to keep them on and still get to go down in to the water and see fish. Two of our friends who went with us also don't really snorkel, so this was a great chance for them to get into the water. Great fun, and as long as you can climb down a ladder, you can do this excursion. Read Less

Really liked the clear waters of St. Maarten. My snuba tour was a lot of fun led by Wilhelm, captain of the Peter Pan. They were professional and friendly. The snuba is a precursor of actual scuba diving. The air tank floats on a raft above you and they give you 20 ft of hose on a regulator. So it approximates an actual scuba dive with a lot less danger. Read Less
