Catalina Island (California) Dolphin Tour Excursion Reviews

Take an exhilarating adventure into the waters for a special chance to see dolphins swim about the waters. Chances are, you'll also see sea lions basking in the sunlight, huddled together on some rocks.
The crew really looked out for out comfort!

The crew really looked out for out comfort! We saw a lot of dolphins, but no whales. A nice boat ride.

We booked a Dolphin tour once we got of the tender in Catalina. Captain Dave, owner of Catalina Coastal Tours (http://www.catalinacoastaltours.com/index.html) took us on a private Dolphin tour. If traveling in larger group, may want to pre-book or go through a company that can handle larger groups, otherwise we highly recommend Dave. We took smaller boat for 6 around coast and saw many seas, sea lions, and other wildlife, on way back to Avalon docks we saw a pod of hundreds of Common Dolphins and had a wonderful excursion the kids and adults loved. Cost for two adults and four kids was $215 (after 15% off season discount) plus tip. Dave offered taking photos for $20 that included him giving SD card with all photos taken for $20. Although a great price, we felt no pressure at all to buy and we just took our own photos but thinking about it after wish we would have taken some of our own and still had him take pictures and purchased the SD card letting him take some photos for us as well.
