We purchased the ticket online well before the cruise. We paid 74 eur for two bus tickets. I think HAL charges 300 dollars for the same tour. Suprisingly the bus was almost empty. It was just another tourist pair in the whole bus so we had a kind of personal tour on a public bus! The driver even had a microphone and told us few stories during the travel time. The road to the Dalsnibba is amazing! I wish we could spend a few hours just walking in the mountains. The way lays through a beautiful lakes and fields and again mountains. Fantastic! The view from Dalsnibba is just outstanding! Do not be scared by the public bus tour - you will get a lot more for the cheaper price! As for Geiranger we did a hike upstairs to the waterfall. It was great but a very short hike. Read Less

Clear weather made this a spectacular trip, with an unforgettable view from 5,000 feet into the fiord. It would be disappointing if the weather were cloudy and rainy, as is apparently often the case.

Strange timing here, we arrived before 9 so missed most of the fjord coming in and sailed late so missed most of it going out. I thought this was a fjord trip? Captain did a 360 at the 7 sisters and suitor waterfalls about 8.15 which we luckily caught. Beautiful valley to sail down, shame most of it is done at night. The tour to the Eagle road and mount Dalsinibba is brilliant (and much cheaper than the Celebrity version) try and sit at the front of the bus as it goes round the hairpins. Cross your fingers for no low cloud at the top as the view 5000 ft down is amazing. Again little else to do locally, rib boats probably best. Read Less

We chose HAL's Mt. Dalsnibba and the Eagle Road excursion - best tour of the cruise! After a needlessly complicated route from the meeting point in the show lounge to the tender boats, the tour went very smoothly, and we loved it. The scenery just got better with each viewpoint, and the icing on the cake awaited us at the very top of Mt. Dalsnibba. Locals say it rains a lot in Norway, but we lucked out with fabulous weather and, therefore, an exceptionally good view of the incredible landscape. Note: Book the first tour in advance, because the long and winding road up the mountain gets busier as the day gets older. It was amazing to see how the big busses negotiate those turns. Our guide was informative, we learned a lot about the fiord and Norway, and thanks to our driver's expert skills, we made it up and back safely. Read Less
