My mother in-law booked our group of 10 a private tour of a rainforest. It was one of the highlights of my trip. There was a clean-water waterfall which was amazing for the whole family!

Took a tour of El Yunque Rainforest. Be warned: If you want to hike down to the La Mina waterfalls you need to be in very good to excellent physical condition. Our guide didn't tell us this and I thought the hike would be more "tourist friendly" It was not. My husband has mild COPD and I thought I was going to have to get medical assistance to get him out of the rainforest. You have to hike up 45 degree hills!! So if you have any kind of joint problems, breathing issues, heart problems, etc don't hike to La Mina Falls. The couple hiking with us were about 65 years old and the wife had a foot problem I don't know how she managed, but we all got out alive. That being said, the rain forest is beautiful. You have to stop walking to take a look around or you might fall over into a steep gully. I was surprised that you don't hear hardly any animals in the rain forest, only a bird or two. In Costa Rica the rain forest is full of animal sounds. El Yunque is very quiet. Read Less

Sailing into San Juan harbor was cool – very scenic with old forts and such. We booked the Rain Forest Hike which was fortunate for us as we planned to take our ponchos and umbrellas there. As it turned out, a thunderstorm hit San Juan so it was pouring rain as we got off at the pier. They cancelled several of the tours including the Old Town walking tour but ours went on as “rain” in a Rain Forest isn’t really an issue. It was a good excursion, very scenic and a good chance to see part of Puerto Rico if you haven’t been there. Read Less

Rain forest drive and hike was perhaps the best Caribbean tour we have ever been on. Very informative professional guides. The views were spectacular. If you want to see the Beauty Of Puerto Rico, this is a must do. Not recommended for elderly or people with mobility problems but it's a moderate tour and easy walk so you do not need to be a fitness enthusiast to participate. The walking trail is well paved and stairs have railings. Read Less
