San Francisco Sausalito Excursion Reviews

Located just minutes from San Francisco at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito is also the gateway to the legendary California wine country, majestic redwoods and wild northern coast.

Unfortunately it was Saturday and the traffic was horrendous, the bridge was covered by mist and Sausalito was so crowded that we couldn’t find anywhere to have lunch. A little disappointing.

After a full day of touring Alcatraz, then driving to Sausalito without lunch, we arrived in Sausalito at 2:00pm. We were told we would have 50 minutes to tour the town. Unfortunately, everyone was hungry, and stood in line at the local hamburger stand. It took 45 minutes to receive our lunch, so we quickly ate as we walked back to the bus. It was a COMPLETE WASTE of time and money. Whoever thought both Alcatraz and Sausalito could be adequately accomplished in one day (with the given time parameters) was sorely mistaken. Read Less
