La Romana (Casa de Campo) City Tour Excursion Reviews

Explore the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic with a city tour of La Romana. Comparable to the Hamptons, Casa de Campo is a resort complex home to many luxurious villas and beautiful beaches.
My tour went to Colonial Santo Domingo which is the oldest European settlement in the New World.
My tour went to Colonial Santo Domingo which is the oldest European settlement in the New World. The cathedral there dates from around 1523 and even Columbus has a tomb there. I can highly recommend this tour to history lovers.

Beautiful island, a huge contrast from Grand Turk. The island is so lush and green and exactly what I think of when I imagine the Caribbean. La Romana is a beautiful, vibrant city that should not be missed. We were told we may not like it and shouldn't bother going, which was a little rude and unnecessary. If you are interested in being culturally enriched, it is important to go downtown La Romana as it is the only stop that can offer that type of experience. We were dropped downtown near the market where there were a lot of make shift shops. The people were really trying to get us to purchase some of their products, so it made it difficult for us to get through it and shop in peace. But it is what it is. We also walked around the city and ate lunch at a local restaurant and had traditional DR food. It was a very enjoyable experience. Read Less

Top ten of La Romana. Too much climbing in and out of high bus. Stops were ok, but there was no shopping anywhere.

Well some of the people on the ship that went on this cruise before had us so scared to get off the ship and didn't want to even go here. But we looked out the windows of the ship and said it doesn't look like what they were saying so off the ship we went. We walk the hill and at the top was a little train that would take you into town. It was through Carnival and i believe it was 19.00. It took you to a little market if you wanted to get off and then they would pick you up later. There is also a beach tour you could have gone on with wifi for $25.00 each. These are tours i didn't see the tours. We were 2 woman and 1 female teenage we felt safe on this tour Read Less
