Short mini-bus ride from the cruise terminal to buggy station. Suggest taking a rain jacket (though ponchos can be purchased for €2 each from the company - we experienced regular but short rain spells during our 1 day visit to La Palma) both for protection from flying dirt/water, as well as against the cold as you climb higher through the forest. Hint: put poncho on prior to entering buggy, as very difficult otherwise! We got caught in a 2 minute shower whilst sitting in our buggy waiting to begin the tour, but we'd pretty much dried out by the time we reached the halfway viewing point (which was lovely and sunny as well as affording spectacular views of the island). Conversely, if it hasn't rained, we were told that it gets very dusty on the tour. To access the forest required a 5-10 minute drive along public roads, which due to the downpour then brilliant sunshine, meant a lot of glare off the roads and thus sunglasses would have been handy (couldn't get them on with helmut in place though!) Our native Danish tour guide (English-speaking) was very informative and friendly throughout the experience, including at the viewpoint an explanation on how La Palma was formed and the geography of the island (apparently, the limited light pollution makes it a very good spot for observing our solar system). Note that buggies have manual gearboxes (4-speed, close ratio), not the automatic thumb lever type as we have previously used. The brake lights on vehicle ahead of us did not seem to function all of the time, so be aware. There are basic toilet facilities at the station, though none during the tour. No refreshments available during this tour, so we'd advise taking your own bottled water. Read Less
