What a lovely old city, gorgeous old buildings and streets, amazing. The walk to the castle was way too steep in the heat but would have made the effort had the stay at the top been longer than the 10 minutes they did take.

It was a good overview and the museum was interesting. We wished we had a bit more time to shop and take photos. Knowledgeable tour guide and we learned a lot. We got good deals here - if you like to shop, do it here, but BARGAIN! Do not pay full price here. Also, take a photo with the ladies with baskets of fruits on their head. For a buck, they're appreciative and you get a great photo!

Victor (guide) and Roberto (driver) were both excellent - very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We saw the walled city, ruins, cathedrals, Inquisition Palace and more. The only downside was the horrible woman on the tour who complained (loudly, often and at length) about everything. She didn't tip and left all her garbage on the bus. She was awful. I felt really bad for the guides - they kept trying to please her, but of course nothing pleased her. I hope other people speak out about how great Victor and Roberto were - and how wonderful the tour was. It was super hot that day, but the a/c on the bus helped us!!

The tour could have been much better. The guide was maby not the best. He was in a hurry all the time. The stop on the fort was good. We walked around and he was telling the story. The stop in the old Cartagena city was very rush and hurry. It is really nice and the visitt to the museum was quick and full speed ahead. There was no stop for coffee or free time. Than we ran back to the bus and full speed to new cartagena. So that they could have a emerald shopping event at a store. It would have been much better to have a litte break in old town and then return to the ship. Because the trip to the new area was just ekstra driving and nothing spectacular.

Costed 215 USD for the family Mum Dad and 3 children age 3,3,4. We felt it was overpriced. A full hour was wasted at a local shop where the aim was to sell columbian jade. Everything else was fine.

Enjoyed the excursion, but too hot weather took away from the pleasure. Also, the street people are relentless. One kept trying to sell me jewelry. I kept saying "I don't wear jewelry and I don't buy gifts" over and over, but he wouldn't get out of my face.

Normally, we book private excursions through the Internet (rather than through the ship) as we find the private product to be generally cheaper, more intimate, and of better quality than excursions organized by the cruise lines. However, our Norwegian Sun cruise ship was only in Cartagena for a few hours, and we did not want to risk getting left behind in port, so we booked the Sun's "Magnificent Cartagena
