I cannot say enough about this tour.I booked online and Ignazio Astone was waiting on the dock and took us on our tour. The man is amazing , Sicilian born, English is excellent and it is very obvious that he loves his place of birth. The G& was on so Taormina was off- limits and i was disappointed but Ignazio saved the day!! We had an in depth look at Messina , its beaches , it's churches and it's food! I recommend this service to all. They are also really affordable. TRY THEM!!

Wow ! what a great tour. Only 4 of us and it was still cheaper and more inclusive than any ship tour. Saw everythign from the Godfather movie plus so much more. Stopped for a wonderful lunch. Very recommended. Be warned : Roads are scary! narrow and twisty. Luckily or driver/guide Sebastiano was experienced and had quick reflexes. He was wonderful too.

Another Cunard organised trip "In the Footsteps of the Godfather." Great trip spoiled by the moaning of several fellow passengers who were allegedly traumatised by some small hill fires which, we got the impression, are regular local occurrences and which were dealt with very effectively by the local emergency services. At no time did most people feel there was any threat or danger but it would appear that these types are always on organised trips. It would be preferable for everyone else if they would just keep their miserable faces at home.

The actual port was Catania, where we had booked a private excursion with Sicily Life Tours. Antonio, our driver and guide, took us to some of the Godfather villages where scenes were filmed, and to another village that I will never be able to spell. There is a lot of driving as you have to get from village to village through mountainous switchback roads. Not for the queasy! But Sicily was absolutely beautiful and I cannot wait to return. The sky was crystal clear blue this day and you could see every nook and cranny of Etna in the morning from a distance. By the afternoon, fog and clouds had surrounded the top. But this country and the vistas are absolutely stunning.

Loved Siciliy! We took the Footsteps of the Godfather Tour, and it was terrific. The drive to Savoca and the site of the scenes from Godfather I was fantastic. Prior to the Godfather locations we went into the church where there are the mummies. After Savoca we went to Forza D'Agro and the scenes from Godfather !! and !!!. we enjoyed pizza at a local shop just below the Church and got an impromptu tour of the pizzeria including the brick oven area! Shop owner very enthusiastic.
