Easy mountain bike ride to a waterfall to the east of PV. 13 mile roundtrip, manageable climb, nothing too technical on the way down. Good bikes, good guiding, fantastic scenery, and you get to see a part of Mexico that you wouldn't otherwise.

our tour was offered last minute over the loud-speakers on the ship and it sounded like a bargain at almost $30 per person it involved what was supposed to be an hour for shopping, a bus ride around, and two and a half hours at a beach resort. In fact, there was NO shopping time, just a toilet stop at a very expensive jewelry and trinket shop. NO bus tour around town and the resort was mediocre at best. We did not enjoy this tour, and thank goodness, we had another day in Peurta Vallarta where we found our own van and driver and had the most fantastic day, because had we relied on the Carnival tour, we would never have seen anything of PV. Most disappointing.

Drove thru many areas in and around PV. Off the bus to walk around downtown & briefly go into Church of Guadalupe. Stop at tequila factory. Lunch stop a restaurant set within the rainforest - interesting as well as good food.

Stay in Puerto Valarta - wish we had. We book a tour to an island that looked like an eco tour however it was the worse. Sat in a plastic chair for 2 hours to reach the island to find out they only had snorkleing to the island. Spent the entire port visit on this incredible uncomfortable boat in a plastic chair. This tour sucked bad.

Vallarta Adventures does such a great job! We cruised on their catamaran to Las Marietas Islands enjoying coffee, juice and banana bread. The Captain spotted the first whale of the season and took the time to make sure everyone got to see the whale (we saw more later) and dolphins who we swimming with him. We then stopped and swam through a cave to a beautiful beach they called "Secret Beach" -- a lot of fun, but oh so crowded so this is not an excursion for those who are a bit claustraphobic. Our next stop was for snorkeling, kayaking, or bird watching (your choice). After we were all on-board a very good deli lunch was served while the crew entertained us with singing and dancing.

She was standing there on the pier. Didn't pressure us to book. Just answered questions. Took us into town and stayed with us. $10 per person. Fun day.
