We booked the Frenchman's Bay Scenic Nature Cruise through Royal Caribbean. Because of the tendering process, we arrived on the pier about 45 minutes early for the 1 PM cruise. At the pier, RCI's security officer, RCI's shore excursion staff, and outside vendors (hired by RCI for other excursions) told all of the nature cruisers to wait in the wrong place. At 1:05 PM, my husband asked more people where we were supposed to meet. Apparently, we were supposed to be on the 1:15 PM public nature cruise run by a whale watching company. All of the other tourists already boarded the boat and the whale watch company did not bother to seek out RCI's pre-paid passengers on the pier. By 1:20 PM, we were the last people on the boat and had a poor selection of seats. The nature cruise was about 2 hours long. Some of the seas were rough and I got sea sick. The whale watch company does provide barf bags on the ship. The nature cruise staff tried to “upsell” binocular rentals and refreshments for purchase in their galley. The naturalist verbally narrated from the top deck, where we weren’t seated. She told us about all of these eagles in trees, but neither my husband nor I saw anything except some seals looking like sausages sunbathing on some rocks. At the end of the tour the nature cruise staff begged for tips for their “hard” work over the PA system and held a collection bucket as we had to pass by them to get off of the boat.

Took this in place of a cancelled excursion. It was nice being on the water, but nothing special

Took a nature cruise as well and it was neat to see the fancy homes and different wildlife as well. Saw seals, Bald Eagles, a Peregrine Falcon, Eider Ducks, Cormorants, and many other birds. Fall color was just starting and some views of the trees and cliffs were very pretty.

Scenic nature cruise was lovely. Was able to see some wildlife (seals and bald eagles) and Acadia from a different perspective. I would take this excursion again.

The other wonderful stop was at Bar Harbor Maine--charming scenery everywhere and a delightful village. We took a wonderful tow-hour boat ride, not sponsored by NCL and less than half the price, to see Acadia National Park from the water. Fabulous naturalist tour guide and well worth the $60.00

We did a tour that took us to the top of Cadillac Mt and then a schooner sail. It was wonderful!! And Bar Harbor is such a lovely town - great shopping and be sure to stop in the drugstore to see the ORIGINAL soda fountain (they served delicious homemade ice cream too - try the blueberry)

We took the nature cruise to egg island and saw seals, eiders, cormarants, gulls and eagles. The naturalist knew his stuff.
