The tour guide was great but the tour of Ocho Rios was ok. There wasn't much worth seeing,

Konoko Falls and Park was beautiful and the staff there made it even nicer. Oh and please tip the elderly Jamaican lady that cleans the bathrooms.

Tour to Kanoko Falls park and an overlook with coffee & snacks. Beautiful areas. Highly controlled, no stops outside gated areas. Great guide. Bus was too crowded.

Very nice young man greeted us with a card bearing our name. We spent five hours and were very well taken care of. Would highly recommend this company.

In Ochos Rios, we took the Top 10 tour offered through Carnival and it was decent. I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as what it was as the reviews were poor. We enjoyed the bus tour and the information offered by our “Jamaican Mom”, Joan. I would not have felt safe going off on our own to explore at this port. The cost of this was $29.99 a person. I don’t think that Jamaica will be a must visit port for us in the future. The Fern Gully was beautiful to drive through. We made a stop on top of the hill to take pictures of our cruise ship and to have a drink. We visited Scotchies for some traditional jerk chicken and pork. We got to visit a very old church, that was beautiful. Last, we stopped at a store for some shopping. You had the choice of being let off at Margaritaville or taken back to the dock. We went back to the ship.

The ” Rum, Reggae, and Jerk “ excursion was probably the worst excursion that we have taken. The leader Tika was excellent, very friendly and caring, but just had no substance to work with. She was the only positive. We were served a couple of free rum punches or beers. However, the second stop was at a bar with a filthy beach. Lunch at Margaritaville was a disaster. Service was extremely slow even though our guides called our lunch orders in advance. We were told that the choices were a burger and fries or a vegetarian taco salad, and then told that too many of us chose the burger option and had to change our orders! The lunch took over an hour. We had to order our own drinks at the bar. The waiter could not get our credit card to process (even though it was a standard Master card). My husband followed the server up and down the stairs twice to resolve the problem. The rum tasting was in the Taj Mahal shopping center. The only reggae was the bar music. The jerk samples were served on the first stop and was quite tasty.

We did the Hop on Hop off shuttle/tour which we got at the port for $25 pp. They really pushed the shopping stops and we were not too impressed with their hospitality.

This was our first Carnival Book excursion. The tour guide was both professional and humorous as well as informative. The bus was packed! luckily we were with mostly friends so the shoulder to shoulder ride wasn't so unpleasant. We got the dime tour and for what it was, I would recommend it to to first time visitors of the Island.

We took the “Top Ten Best of Ochos Rios, Jamaica. Our guide, a young lady was great. We went through the rainforest and quite a few areas. We did see how Jerk chicken and pork is prepared. A lot of information about the culture and history was given. We also stopped at the Old Craft Market. Watch out for those wonderful Jamacian ladies. They are true salespersons and can be just a little pushy.

There were multiple parts to this excursion. It was listed as a Level 1 but the very first stop was the Falls and there were Hundreds of steps on the boardwalk. Beautiful place, lots of fun, pushy vendors at the market. Then we went to a shopping area, yeah, typical, but not what I signed up for, so I just wandered around till it was over, then a great drive through Fern Gully, then we went to a Garden, Shaw Garden, I think. Fabulous views but again, hundreds of steps down the side of a mountain through fascinating plants and a guide I couldn't understand, but still beautiful. Then hundreds of steps back up. Agh! Not a level 1 excursion.

Took our kids on the Bob Marley tour. Long drive through rural/ primative areas so hubby could pay homage to Bob Marley. The only tour we could find that would take kids 7 & 10. Ship tour was 18+. Excellent tour with side trips only provided to us by the tour. A+++

We did the tour of the town with a lunch and a swim at the beach - both were great, and we were there long enough to enjoy the water and eat at a leisurely pace, my DH even had a 15 minute massage. The people were terrific, but you could see the damage was still everywhere from the hurricane in 2004 I think. The island was beautiful ! Our tour guide was knowledgeable about the area and funny!

We did our own tour with a cab driver and he was extremely expensive $120 for 2 hours for 4 people with no tip. He took us off the beaten path which was cool but again not worth the price. We saw two different waterfalls one on somebodies property that we had to give a donation for climbing and the other at the Ruins restaurant for another donation and another donation to view the gardens. Our driver to local restaurant for jerk chicken or pork and they ran out, he took us to local fish market for Fish fry, we bought fried tuna and me and my 13 yr old loved it. The Jamaicans are very pushy in your face, everyone looking for a dollar from your pocket. One kid did flips down the mountain in the rode in front of our cab, we had to give it up to him, he surly entertained, we were amazed. Others had crafts, pushing them in your face while driving in the cab. We had to let our driver to put the windows up and drive and we would let him know when we wanted something. Prepare for donations everywhere.

Ochos Rios Jamaica was outstanding. We had a bus tour though Courtney Taylor Tours to see the Spice Man, went inside a public supermarket for cold drinks, lunched at Jamaica meat pie place, went to the Irie Blue hole and dove off the cliffs into the falls, refreshing. We went to an open flea market and the ladies were tough on buying things. We final finished up at Scotchies for jerk chicken, what a treat. Had a wonderful time in Jamaica.

http://www.markstours.com/. Mark Morris is who we booked our island tour with and were definitely not disappointed!! Mark is unbelievably knowledgeable and very articulate!!! He's even very knowledgeable about the history of the US and how it compares to Jamaica. You would not be disappointed if you booked your tours with Mark Morris!! It is rather hard to shop in Jamaica. The economy is so bad there the people are so desperate to sell you anything. They seemed to have calmed down quite a bit and will actually say things like "Come over here...I won't be pushy" , so they know what the reputation of Jamaica is. My heart goes out to them, but I just did not feel like I could stop and just take my time and look....so I ended up not getting anything. :(. Now Mark Morris will actually go I the shops with you so we never felt like we were in danger...but just not a relaxed atmosphere.

Nice bus ride around part of the Island with some history given. Very good and personable guide. Did not understand about the Falls, that climbing would be in the water so we were unprepared. Enjoyed the botanical gardens but a bit much with all the steps. Shopping was nice in the little Taj Mahal area. Vendors at the falls were a little too aggressive, they scare off more than they attract. Worth the money for the first timer in Jamaica.

Unfortunately our site seeing tour didn't quite happen. There was a communication error somewhere along the line and all that happened was that we got to stay on their van as they transported people to their destinations. We did however get to see some houses, a school and the jungle. It was very enlightening, just disappointing
