Cozumel Segway Tour Excursion Reviews

Cozumel Segway Tour cruise excursion
Overall Rating
Explore the scenic coastline of Cozumel while gliding through on a Segway, one of the most exciting ways to view the island. Fresh air comes standard.

The Segway Tour was great because we had the opportunity to ride on a Segway for the first time. Our tour guides provided us a quick tutorial on how to drive the Segways. They also provided us with bottled water along the tour. The terrain consisted mainly of dirt roads, but they were very manageable. This shore excursion advertises a tour of a "Mayan village," which is a little misleading because we expected to tour some Mayan ruins. Instead, we met a woman of Mayan descent who spoke in the Mayan language and made tortillas for us. One of our tour guides discussed in detail about the local flora in Cozumel, which was very informative. Another explained the significance of the Day of the Dead. There was a tequila tasting built into the tour, which was not too bad. The tequila guide wasn't pushing us to buy tequila, and he offered some discounts, but we declined. There was also time for shopping. I felt that El Cedral was kind of like a tourist trap, but the souvenirs available there are more authentic than most tourist traps. Overall, my wife and I had fun riding the Segways, and we would recommend it for anyone who's never ridden one and interested in riding one.

We signed up for a segway tour to the beach. We showed up with beach towels as instructed and after filling out all the paperwork we found out that our tour was not to the beach but rather to a small town on the other side of the island and to a tequila factory. Not the beach excursion we signed up for. We quickly cancelled the excursion and luckily for us a Princess employee was able to quickly get us on a new excursion. Was disappointment that the tour was not as described.

Daniel and Omar were wonderful. There were about 15 of us, mostly Segway newbies, and they took especial care to teach us patiently and carefully. The hours flew by, and it was a great experience. HIGHLY recommend!

We arranged this excursion thru Cozumel Watersports online. They required a small deposit to hold our spots. When we got to the port, we had to walk out of the port and down the road several blocks to the meeting place. It was very hot, but the walk was interesting seeing all the traffic and people set up selling things on the sidewalk. We met at a hotel and we were the only ones going on the excursion that day. We drove a jeep to the Segway practice parking lot and our guides, David and Roberto, taught us how to ride the Segways safely. They were friendly and attentive. They took group pictures for us, without us asking, and repeatedly asked if there was anything they could do to make our trip better. We rode the segways a few miles down a small road that ran alongside the main highway to a small resort on the beach. David would stop to show us interesting things, like an iguana on the side of the road or a native plant. The trip was beautiful because we rode along the beach for much of the drive and the scenery was breathtaking with the clear blue waters. The Segways were very fun and my 12 year old daughter and my senior citizen mother were able to ride it without any problems. (and loved them!). We own four wheelers and ride them frequently, but our entire group enjoyed the Segways. The resort was small but private, with the umbrellas and chairs included in the price, with our snorkel equipment provided. We also were given cold bottled water before our excursion and throughout by our tour guides. We snorkeled for about 1.5-2 hours and it was great snorkeling. We saw all kinds of fish, stingrays, coral, etc. The fish must be used to being fed because we were swarmed when we entered the water. There were a few people selling bracelets and souvenirs when you entered but they weren't pushy. There was also a small pool to swim in but we did not make it to that. We rode the Segways back to the port entrance and only had to walk back into the port on our return.

This is one of the best excursions I have ever been on. The tour guides were great and were very patient while we learned the Segways and seemed to really want to make the excursion the best they could.

The only thing I would suggest to make this trip better would be to pick us up in the port. It would be worth a few more dollars to not have to walk as far as we did in the heat. We paid $59.99/person booking it ourselves. It was $89.99 thru the cruiseline. Go on this excursion! It's well worth the money.

In Cozumel, Mexico we did an early excursion where we learned to ride a segway and rode them down the coast and then stopped at a Resort where you could swim and snorkel or get a drink and food from the bar. From there we headed back on our segways. It was really fun and really easy to use. Highly recommend this excursion.
