Bar Harbor Lobster Fishing & Seal Watching cruise excursion
Overall Rating
Between seeing wild seals up close to real live lobster fishing, this is sure to be a fun excursion in port-popular Bar Harbor.

lulu lobster boat was a 2 hour excursion that we were made to book through boat. Many friends had recommended doing this but we found it a bit boring. The boat takes you out a bit, you see some seals. on the way back they pull out a lobster trap and tell you all about it, let you touch a lobster and then they return to port. The staff running the boat were very nice and knowledgeable. My kids are 15 and 14 and were pretty bored except for the 5 minutes we spent looking at the seals.

Found online in search of port activities for tourists and reserved several months before cruise date. The cruise line offers the tour also, but at twice the price. Informative, entertaining, unique. The boat took us to the lighthouse where we saw mother seals with newborn babies in the water and on the rocks, several kinds of sea birds. The mansions along the shore were worth the trip. Seeing the lobster trap brought up and hearing the lobstering story from Captain John was a revelation. He's informative in the most entertaining way, and his tour is surely deserving of its number one spot on another Halifax tourism site.

We went on LULU the Lobster Boat. Capt. John showed us the "workings" of a lobster, he pulled up actual lobster traps to check on his catch for the day & explained the "lobster business" to us as it is today. We didn't get to the lighthouse because he said the water was choppy and rough. We did see a young seal pop its head up once or twice. It was an interesting tour and a nice way to spend a couple of hours.

Lulu's Lobster boat Ride ( $119.90 )
This trip was fun and informative learned many things from an excellent Captain and really enjoyed the trip.
getting off the ship was delayed quite a bit due to fog so the day was cut short.
Had an amazing lunch at Paddy's Irish Pub and got some great deals up and down the main street
