Grand Turk Snuba Excursion Reviews

A hybrid of scuba diving and snorkeling, snuba is a unique way to discover the beauty of the coral reefs and exotic fish prevalent in the waters of Grand Turk.
Was ok.
Sail Date: July 2019
Was ok. Only got about 30 min in water. Not much to see where they took us. No fish, some coral. We did this in Grand Cayman and saw so much more.

Super fun!

Super fun! I did this to see if I was interested in learning how to scuba dive for real (this seemed like a feasible "test"). So my experience was more about trying the snuba vs. seeing good marine life as there wasn't a ... Read More
Super fun! I did this to see if I was interested in learning how to scuba dive for real (this seemed like a feasible "test"). So my experience was more about trying the snuba vs. seeing good marine life as there wasn't a lot. It was beautiful and the instructors were great and helpful and I loved being in the ocean, but I would have been a little disappointed if my main goal had been to see lots of fish. Read Less

Snuba was very cool and it was such a different experience. We were right by the coral reef and we saw different animals like an eel. The directors were very knowledgeable and we felt safe at all times. Whenever we had a problem they were there to fix it. I just wished they told us that vaseline helps the masks stick better to your face when you have a mustache. It would've been more enjoyable if my friend wasn't getting mouthfuls of salty sea water everytime he went down. Other than that, we would totally book this excursion again! Read Less

This Snuba experience was not as good as St-Kitts.
Sail Date: October 2015
This Snuba experience was not as good as St-Kitts. My mask leaked and I had to blow out the water several times. The fish were actually easier to photograph during the snorkeling period. I would still go again.

Decent enough.
Sail Date: March 2015
Decent enough. Not much color to the fish compared to the fish in Hawaii, but beautiful island. The beach where you get off the boat was a great set up with all the shops and the NASA museum of sorts.

LOVED IT! However, there were some sanitation concerns with the snuba masks. Although they were cleaned in soapy water before the first group used them, there were no efforts made to sanitize the masks before the second group. My husband and I were in the second group, and within 24 hours after the excursion, my husband came down with a severe upper respiratory infection and a fever of 103. We had to spend a small fortune to see the on-ship doctor and my husband was quarantined for 2 days during our cruise. We believe he may have caught it from using the same mask as a complete stranger who has been breathing (and possibly coughing) in it for 30 minutes prior to my husband using it. Read Less
