The tour guide had such an incredible trove of knowledge about the history of the area and the landmarks that made this an outstanding excursion. I believe she may have been the tour guide who previously had been criticized for dwelling on her her own personal experiences but she definitely changed her presentation so there was none of that. She presented the facts about the locations, and put it all into the context of historical events of that time period. Read Less

We had a great guide for this tour. Lots of information about Lexington and Concord. My reason for a 4 instead of a 5 was that it was rushed and we had 20 minutes at the North bridge and 10 minutes at Lexington Green. I would have liked more time on the ground and to go to some of the visitors centers. We did go to Harvard Yard and that was interesting to learn some of that colleges history, though I personally would have preferred more time in Concord. Read Less

The guide was very good.
The guide was very good. Got to see the Old North Bridge where the "shot heard round the world" was fired. We also stopped in Cambridge to see Harvard (Harvard Yard, Harvard Library, etc.).

This was the "best of Boston, Lexington, and Concord" tour, it included a short stop at Copley Square with time for photos of Trinity Church, Old South Church, Boston Public Library, and John Hancock Tower; a stop in the north end with a couple of blocks walk to the Old North Church and a short program inside the church (we sat in a pew where Theodore Roosevelt had sat). The walk from the bus to the church and back involves a hill that is a little steep but anyone that can take the stairs on the ship should have no problem with. Lunch at the Union Oyster House, the food was pretty good but the service was so-so. Again, getting into the dining room required ascending a couple of flights of stairs. The ride out to Lexington and Concord are a little long but the bus had wi-fi and there's not much to see once you're on the highway, so had a chance to catch up on email . The guide was reasonably knowledgeable, with only a couple of obscure questions he could not answer. But the timing on this leg of the tour is hard to predict because traffic... After Concord, we went back through Cambridge, but running late so we stopped to get off the bus at one end of Harvard Square, walked through the campus with a very short explanation of the buildings, then through to the other end to catch the bus back to the boat. Even with that shortening up we were pretty much the last people on the boat as it left. Read Less
