Singapore. We did a Princess tour..breakfast with Orangutans. I'm not sure what I expected, but there was huge breakfast area the Orangutans come down and sit on a log nearby and you are encouraged to form a line and stand in front of them for a snapshot...they then charge you $$ for. The rest of the zoo is nice. we managed to see the sloth awake and get a few good close up bar photos...but all in all it's similar to Sydney or Melb zoo. We then caught a taxi to Universal studios (at special request of son). If I went again I'd go to the gardens by the Bay for a look which is a walk from. the ship or cheap taxi ride. My parents did a princess tour of the city involving a temple and ending at Raffles except Raffles is closed so they went to another hotel for their singapore Slings. They seemed to enjoy it. If I went back I'd do my own thing using taxis as they were very cheap and reliable. For longer stays in Singapore the MTR is very reliable and easy to use Read Less

Lovely zoo (although the leopard needs a bigger cage - sad to see it pacing up and down).

Lovely zoo (although the leopard needs a bigger cage - sad to see it pacing up and down). On the whole very good animal welfare. Not enough time to visit the zoo. 25 mins on a rushed buffet breakfast and a two second photo with the orangutans. No care taken over photos - staff just wanting to get the queue down! We had about and 1.5 hours to see the zoo - missed loads of animals - no time to see them. Rushed back to the boat which did not leave for another couple of hours!! Wished we had made our own way there, which would have been simple on public Singapore transport. Read Less

Both times we booked this tour it got cancelled.
Sail Date: February 2017
Both times we booked this tour it got cancelled. We finally just hired a cab to take us on our own. I booked the Orangutan Breakfast online on the ship before we went. The Singapore Zoo is nice but rather on the small side.

Very interesting, well laid out zoo.

Very interesting, well laid out zoo. Clean, easy to get around. Breakfast buffet with the Orangutans was very good. Met another two couples in the minivan who were also joining the HAL cruise.
