Osaka City Tour cruise excursion
Overall Rating
For centuries, Osaka was Japan's cultural and commercial gateway to Asia - the point of entry both for trade goods and, most importantly, cultural influences that shaped Japanese society.

We visited the historic city and the guide spoke excellent English. Being born in Okinawa, he gave us quite a few facts about the historic city. We had plenty of time for shopping and visiting restaurants etc.

Saw temples and castles, had plenty of free time without being rushed.

We travelled in to the mountains for 2.5 hours by bus and went to the temples and had a traditional Japanese lunch. It was well worth it.

The guide was one of those who rushes ahead then uses up time rounding up stragglers. Osaka castle has 70 steps up to the viewing area, or you can take a unique feature: the one-way elevator. Excursion was mildly interesting, not particular well done or memorable.

We had a good tour including Osaka Castle and Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine. We did not have an opportunity this trip to go to Kyoto or Nara. Had we done so, I am sure I'd rate this destination as a six star place.
