Bangkok (Laem Chabang) Wooden Pavilion at Sanctuary of Truth Excursion Reviews

For a unique excursion in Thailand's Bangkok, visit the Wooden Pavilion at Sanctuary of Truth -- the only completely wooden sculpture building in the entire world. The building itself is absolutely jaw-dropping, but there are a number of other activities to enjoy onsite including martial arts shows.

The Sanctuary of Truth is absolutely incredible! It's too bad there was so little time (@ 1-1/2 hours) to take it all in. Once again, any indication that you are going to Bangkok is far fetched - it takes hours to reach there, leaving little time on the ground. So one should consider the distance and length of the bus ride. Read Less

Drove along Pattay beach en route. Not the most attractive area away from the beach. Interesting visit to the Temple but I felt the tour guide rushed through the descriptions not giving time for photographs. This was in a sort of zoo/park which I hadn't realised before. I was a bit concerned seeing elephants tied up there. There was a display of Thai dancing which was interesting. Worth a visit. Read Less

We did two tours here. Independently we booked a driver to/from Bangkok, returning to the ship later in the evening. We did Bangkok on our own. In hindsight, my time would have been better spent if I took a private guide for the day. We got to do a riverboat ride, go through Chinatown and the area around the Palace and another Wat. However, getting around was challenging and not as many people spoke English as I thought they would. So we were on our own for directions. Now, for Sanctuary of Truth -- it is a must see and the reason we didn't overnight in Bangkok. I took a HAL tour but wish we got a ride privately so we could see this at our own pace. Read Less

This was an amazing experience seeing how much work went and will continue to go into keeping this Wooden Pavilion going. It was a little bit long, half an hour would have been okay. As for the Floating market there were so many tourists that they did not have enough boats so many of the tourists missed out, as for the stalls they were all the same with very little variety. On returning to the boat many tourists bought from these stalls as they had more to choose from. Read Less
