Cairns City Tour Excursion Reviews

The tropical city of Cairns, 130,000 strong, is way more than a jumping off place to the reef or to the remote rainforest of Daintree to the north. Come see everything this friendly and busy port has to offer!
Nice city...extremely hot!
Sail Date: February 2019
Nice city...extremely hot! The driver/ tour guide was great, but we found ourselves in the midst of a driving tropical monsoon that kept us from visiting two places!

This was billed as a panoramic tour. I understood this to mean that at some point we would get views over Cairns, but that wasn't the case. Our very nice bus driver talked while he drove (I don't like that: NOT safe) and pointed out things like the council depot, the swimming pool wall, various hotels etc but in a random, haphazard way rather than as a compelling narrative. We had a quick stop at a beach but it wasn't even long enough to get a coffee and go to the bathroom. The visit to the botanical gardens was sad as there were no resources (brochures, signs, or people) to explain what we were seeing. Nor did we get chance to stop off in town, although this was not the tour operator's fault as the ship had problems getting tenders in and out on time. Not really worth the money. Read Less

A nice lunch was included and we were able to walk around the small zoo. A nice drive back seeing the views. A great husband and wife team take you on this tour. Read Less

Green Island glass-bottom boat and submarine excursion.
Sail Date: November 2012
Green Island glass-bottom boat and submarine excursion. Not worth the money. Very disappointing with poor visibility in both vessels. Plexiglass was somewhat cloudy and scratched. Needs replacing badly.
