Overall Rating
Tour one of the most active volcanoes on earth: the famous Kilauea volcano (Circle of Fire) has been erupting continuously since 1983.

The tour was actually called "Land of Frozen Fire" and was advertised to take you to the "most active areas" of lava. I expected to see flowing lava but that was not the case. The closest we got was about 10 miles! Very disappointing.

Woman driver and guide has lived in the area and was very interesting to hear all her knowledgeable stories as we traveled her part of the island.

Whilst you can see steam vents, there was no molten lava to be seen anywhere.

The scenery was absolutely stunning over the volcano. This is probably something I will never get to witness again and so I am so glad I did this. The landscape is so varied and in parts, looks like aluminium from where the lava has flowed. We were lucky enough to fly up to the crater and there were a few red hot lava holes.
