The Wadi Rum was interesting as well as the Bedouin dinner. The vehicles were less than stellar but we managed to get back in one piece.

It is very bumpy and dusty on the local jeep. Interesting rock formation, sand and landscape.

). Many people went to Petra, but we had been there before, so we did a trip to Wadi Rum. Again they took us around in a large group (30 4X4s in convoy). We spent a lot of time waiting for people to get on and off the back of the trucks. Wadi Rum is a spectacular place, but the tour was disappointing.

It was not a walking tour. Rather we rode, and walked, through the sand dunes. An exciting experience.

Tour was bench seats in the back of a pick-up truck which did not initially impress us. However (only 6 to a truck) it was a hoot. We were in a short sand storm, then it rained (in the Sahara Desert) and then got hot. Seems we encountered all seasons on one tour. Wadi Rum cannot be captured in pictures. It must be seen to be appreciated. This was our favorite tour of the cruise.

Wadi Rum was by 4 X 4 cars and an enjoyable half day out, you could even have a camel ride.

The tour to Wadi Rum was everything we expected. Magnificent desert and mountain scenery, a hot, dusty & bumpy ride in an open 4 WD. We visited the oasis made famous by Lawrence of Arabia, drank tea with the Bedouins in their tents, and declined the opportunity to ride a camel!
