It took the cruise line a lot longer than it should have to get us to the excursion. The dolphin portion was perfect (better than expected). Lots of time with the dolphins and lots of information. After the excursion, it was absolutely horrible. No place to sit with your food (bird crap all over the tables, nasty staff members.) All the extra things that we paid for extra such as snorkeling, kayaking and paddleboarding were already booked hours ahead, so the kids were bored to death after the dolphins. We ended up leaving and shopping. The only reason I gave this a 4 point rating is due to the dolphin experience. Read Less

Just our grandchildren did this. They loved it! The cost was too high for the rest of us. Guides in the water were excellent. I would recommend just going and doing this yourself rather than book through the cruise line.

My 7 year old son loved interacting with the dolphins! He lost interest while waiting for the dolphin to go down the long row of people. There were a lot of people in the group and it took a long time for each person to get their turn. A 7 year old's attention span is not that great, so while waiting it was hard to keep him occupied and entertained. It would have been better with a smaller group of people and less waiting time. They took great pictures. They were expensive, but worth it. Read Less

We did the all inclusive dolphin swim and ride. For the money I didn't feel it was worth it. We did spend some time petting the dolphin when it swam by, but the description said we would go into deeper water to swim and play with them but that's very deceiving, swimming into deeper water really means paddling 4 feet from the edge of the pool deck you stand on and petting him once as he swims by. Then on by one you swim half way across a pool and the dolphin tows you back. There was no playing with or even touching the dolphin unless you are told to. Our came up to me when the trainer got out to get fish so I started to pet her carefully behind her head as instructed before you even get in the pool and the trainer quickly told me not to pet her. It was hard not to when she comes right up and wants to be petted. The trainer was very informative and answered our questions in a friendly manner. There were maybe 15 in our group, we were in the water maybe 45 minutes actual individual time with the dolphin less then 2 minutes. Not worth the 240 dollars we paid per couple. We were then told we could kayak or snorkel so we chose snorkel because you has to chose a time for the guide to take you to the area across the dock but kayak wasn't for almost an hour and snorkeling was only a 15 minute wait. Well they gave us snorkels and a life jacket and we walked into what was a small pond with dead coral and a stingray laying on the bottom. A school of Tiny fish did swim by but that was it. We bought an underwater camera for nothing we took 5 pictures and 3 were if the stingray. We then went to the included authentic Mexican buffet, well it consisted of some bland chicken pieces with green peppers they called fajitas with no tortillas, dried hamburger patties hot dogs and chicken nuggets. There were tortilla chips that were good but served with runny cheese. The wait staff was nice and was fast to get our drinks. Then on to leaving the video and photos started out st 359 dollars! We said no then he gave us his special deal, both for 159.00 we did buy them but shouldn't have. Maybe a good time for young children, but I can't recommend. Read Less

In Cozumel we swam with dolphins, an excursion we booked through the ship. The price was very reasonable - just over $100 each. I've seen these excursions in other ports for almost $300. It took place in Chankanaab National Park, which was an awesome place. Admission there is $20 each on its own, and when you figure in the included transportation, the dolphin part of the trip really only cost about $70 each. We really enjoyed the time we spent with the dolphins. I highly recommend this excursion and spending time in Chankanaab. The reef there where you can snorkel is great as well - lots of fish to see and a quick dropoff to a water depth of about 20 feet. The water was crystal clear. The only negative with this excursion is that they really try to rip you off with the photos. They initially said the CD of all photos was $140, and then came down to $100. One printed photo is $40! If they sold printed photos for $10-15 and the CD for $50, I think most people would buy them. As it is, I'm not sure, but I can say they lost $50 on me. The CD costs pennies and the photographer has already done the work, why not just make a reasonable profit? Read Less

Dolphinarius was money well spent! We absolutely loved swimming with the Dolphins and highly recommend it. We did it with our 6 year old daughter, who enjoyed it immensely and wasn't scared at all. When she is older, we will do the actual swim with the Dolphins, as this was the encounter, and we felt she was too small to hold on to the fins and not let go, as the water splashes right in your face. The food was good there and we got all you can eat, all you can drink while there. There is also snorkelling, paddle boating and kayaking, which we didn't use do to time. Shopping in Cozumel was great for cheap souvenirs (much cheaper than Grand Cayman) and very safe to walk. Overall, we loved this island the best! Read Less
