Review for a Asia Cruise on SeaDream II

The tag line is half right- it's not cruising. It's sitting in an industrial port swatting flies, Hoping they fix the air conditioning and wondering how things went so terribly, terribly wrong. The staff of this boat is fantastic- great, attentive and personal service. Food is ok. Ship shows some signs of wear and mechanical maintenance is of concern given 36 hour air conditioning outage. Makes ...

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on SeaDream I

We found the ship, crew and fellow passengers delightful. And we loved the small size of the ship, which made it easy to get around, find places, meet people, talk to crew, and relax. Food was very good, but just a tad short of what we have enjoyed on Crystal, Regent and Seabourn. But the dining room service was the best we’ve seen afloat. The relaxed dress and casual atmosphere aboard SD was ...

March 2013 Amazon Cruise - Seadream II

Review for a South America Cruise on SeaDream II

Just completed a 9-day Amazon cruise on Seadream II, Iquitos Perus to Manaus Brazil. I won't dwell on the stops and specifics of the cruise itself because Seadream (SD) announced that this will be the final Amazon cruise. My thoughts on SD itself are: SD is a good "small ship" alternative to "large ship" cruise lines like Princess or Holland America. Instead of 2,000 or 3,000 passengers, SD ...

Yes it's been a while but when I was told of the stellar team assembled on SD 1, I had just had to come and it was truly worth it. I see from a few recent reviews that a few reviewers are complaining about silly niggles BUT seem to have wholly ignored SD's finest asset that leads this line so far out in front than any other: the amazing CREW ! The fine men and women (and I include all of them) ...

Anniversary Cruise on Sea Dream 1

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on SeaDream I

We were on a seven-day cruise on Sea Dream 1 going out of San Juan, Puerto Rico and calling at various small islands. My wife is mobile, but was suffering from a bad knee, so we were dismayed at the amount of physical activity that was needed on this ship. We were not allowed past the gate at the dock in San Juan at 1:20pm, as the ship said boarding was not until 2:00pm. That meant we had to ...

My Wife and I just completed our fourth pre-Christmas Sea Dream 2 cruise from December2-9 2012. As always, it was wonderful to return to Sea Dream and reconnect with our friends on the crew. While we usually sail out of St. Thomas, this cruise originated from San Juan. Susie and I got to the pier two hours before embarkation, gave the check-in people our bags and went out to find some a good ...

Today, anyone who has the desire to take a cruise can find something that suits their tastes and price range. From mammoth "floating cities" with all the bells and whistles, medium-sized vessels in all price ranges and very small ships, usually costing a little more but including more in the cruise fare, there is something for everyone. But for most of cruising history, an ocean voyage was the ...

Seadream I - a dream turned into a Sewage smell Cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on SeaDream I

Seadream was a dream for us - we found it in 2008 and now in 2012 we found the right combo of airline tickets and Seadream Cruise to our dream destinations. We were very excited, and we also made sure Seadream was informed about food allergies. This was not a problem we were told, and I am happy to write that it was not a problem for us. However one passenger had nut allergy and suffered an ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on SeaDream I

Although we have cruised Seadream 2 before this was our first time on Seadream 1. We arrived at the quayside in Dubrovnik a little before the check in time of 14:00 so a stroll to look at the megaships berthed nearby passed the time. We left our cases at the quay and check-in commenced on time but no longer on the quay under an awning met with champagne and cold towels. We were beckoned on board ...

We are 4th time SD cruisers-and were so excited to experience our 2nd time in the Med on a SD cruise. We were very disappointed with all the areas that SD makes the difference. Firstly-the Activities Director-Daniel-was less than attentive at follow up and never once did I see him personally on an excursion- (that were all too long and way over priced as compared to the past experiences). He ...
