Hits and Misses on My First (and Only?) Cruise

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Quantum of the Seas

Embarkation was an orderly mess. We got to the cruise terminal before 11am, but boarded the ship around 2pm. Boarding was color-coded, and we were surprised that they were calling all the colors except ours -- 10 colors were called ahead of ours, although the terminal had only a few hundred people when we arrived. And Windjammer was full when we went up for lunch, so it probably wasn't FIFO ...

We boarded in Barcelona, the "tablet" check-in was not in use and the usual Barcelona chaos with desks was in operation. We had originally planned to check in as early as possible and then to spend the day in town but having learnt that RCI would not allow guests to leave the ship we altered our timings and arrived mid afternoon. Barcelona port terminal has a duty free shop after their security ...

Embarkation tips Taxi to New Orleans port was the way to go they have a separate entry for taxi's for quick dropoffs! Norwegian Dawn a nice ship not many bells and whistles compared to todays newer ships. Food ranged from Decent to Very Good at the main restuarants, Buffet was decent. food is available all day and 24/7. The Bar Staff was well trained and the bartenders knew their ...

This was a 19 day repositioning cruise out of New Orleans. Many stops: Aruba, Curacao, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Boston, Bermuda, returning to Boston. My husband & I are both Platinum level, have sailed on NCL for over 100 nights over the past 3 years. Each ship has their pluses and minuses. We had sailed on the Dawn this past December over Christmas and it was not good at all. This cruise, ...

Very Friendly Crew

There was good and not so good. The crew were the friendliest of all my RCCL cruises. I only wish the high price charged for internet was worth it. Waiting to get online was unacceptable. Food in the Dining Room was average. A new menu was being introduced. I would have liked a couple of "Wow" meals. For entertainment, I enjoyed the movies by the pool best of all. Getting off in Boston ...

We are RCI Diamonds so we have a lot of experience with Royal. We found the departure and disembarkation excellent. We are both 69 years old, but this cruise made us feel young. We have never seen so many cruisers on walkers, canes and scooters (good for them...they are still traveling!). We think that is why our walk off with luggage was so quick as most people could not carry there own ...

Oceania Marina

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Marina

Marina is a beautiful ship with fabulous food, a really nice salt water pool, a nice fitness center/spa, library and Internet cafe next to coffee shop, enrichment, visual art and culinary classes, putting, ping pong, needlepoint, line dancing, evening dancing with Big band or the Sligo band and late night theatre. There was Bridge and other card/board games and a Casino. The itinerary was an ...

Embarkment-a breeze because the times were staggered so no build up. Disembarkment - my 10th cruise, but disembarkment will never be pleasant and smooth it is what it is. cabinc321; plenty of hanging and drawer space for 2 people; suit cases stored under the bed . bathroom is well designed the shower would have been bigger if it had a sliding door instead of a plastic curtain which ...

Part of World Cruise; a Lovely, Memorable Experience

Having never experienced a 29 day cruise, we were a little unsure what we would think and booked this leg of the world cruise. we loved it so much we could have stayed on for weeks more. We are used to the various people who complain about many issues on all cruise ships, including this and we wonder what people really expect when paying these very reasonable prices mostly offered these ...

We had just retired and decided a world cruise was a great way to transition from our work lifestyle to finally having the fun we always dreamed of in retirement. What a great decision! We boarded in Los Angeles for the LA/Sydney/LA leg of the QV's world cruise with many ports in the South Pacific...Hawaii, Fiji, French Polynesia, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Milford Sound/Picton and Wellington, ...
