The whole cruise was great, although weather not perfect but that is no ones fault, our only complaints were the cost of the alcohol on board, wine is extortionate so hardly anyone on our table of 8 purchased wine at dinner, in 22 nights we bought 3 bottles of wine, The only other minor complaint was the lack of choice at dinner in the Britannia Restaurant, too many vegetarian options on not enough meat or fish dishes. The Kings Court buffet restaurant offered the best food we have ever experienced on a cruise but we do not like eating dinner in a buffet, or any other meal really but on this ship we did eat there more often because the choice of food was amazing. Our embarkation in Cape Town was chaotic to say the least as the computers were not working but we did not have to wait too long to enter the lounge where we had to wait to board but others had waited more that an hour or so to do so. We definitely think the Queen Mary is the best ship we have ever been on, before we have cruised with P & O and Holland America, the level of service and attention to detail was very good. Read Less

Sydney to Hong Kong 28 days on the ship.First stop Brisbane in a container terminal.shuttle bus into the city, next stop Cairns then PNG then it was good by to sunshine until we reached Hong Kong .We had a lot of See days on this cruise with limited activities due to bad weather.Accommodation and food was good ,free 24 hour room service,or ongoing food in the Lido deck up to 2am each day.This ship has a wonderful theatre with a different show each night that we really enjoyed .The ship has a very good ball room if you like to dance and for any single women wanting to travel they have several dance hosts that will dance every dance.On our cruse they had eight formal nights I found this two many due to the amount of luggage you needed but you have to remember you still have a luggage allowance when you fly home so you need to be creative with your outfits.There are free washing machine and dryers on each floor and washing powder is provided free. Shore days getting of the ship especially if you went by tender could take up to three hours to get of then going through customs in each country also took up a lot of time we were often late getting on our tours so we were often very rushed to get back on time.My favourite place was Japan they made us very welcome I would definitely go back there one day.The culture on the ship was like upstairs downstairs the staff didn't engage in conversation if you asked a question they would answer with no further discussion all the staff did there job well but they didn't look happy.I loved the ship and would love to go on it again in better weather Read Less

I have sailed on Prinsendam about 200 days overall and love this ship. She has a charming intimacy and her loyal crew make the experience wonderful. Because she is over thirty years old, she is prone to plumbing leaks and uneven heating and air conditioning. Despite that, her charm and intimacy and small scale attracts loyal followers like me who vastly prefer smaller ships that look like ships and not an amusement park or land resort. The outside cabins (which I prefer because of price point) are very comfortable and have great storage space, with walk in closets. I also like the tub shower combination which is offered in most cabins. The food and service aboard Prinsendam is very good. The fitness facility is a bit small but has an adequate number of elliptical machines with individual TVs with head phone jacks. There is one outdoor salt water pool (not heated) aft and one small outdoor heated fresh water pool mid ship. Although the theater is relatively small, Holland America entertainment Department invests money to bring a fresh flow of different talented entertainers aboard. I much prefer talented performers who connect with the audience instead of seeing some large, glitzy production show with canned music, dancers who lip sync and singers who lack the vocal and stage training and that really connect with their audience. I have recently sailed on the new Viking Ocean ships (900 pax) and they may cause some Prinsendam loyalists to consider a change. Viking ships have free WiFi, and everything is new and works. As long as HAL maintains and makes updates on Prinsendam, I will still sail on her. Read Less

Queen Elizabeth. San Francisco to Auckland February 4th-21st, 2017 Specifications Launched: 2010 Refurbished: Minor refit 2014 GRT: 90,000 Length: 964 ft. Draft: 26 ft. Speed: 24 Knots Passengers: 1990 Berlitz Cruising and Cruise ship Guide 2015, rates Queen Elizabeth in top 10 medium large cruise ships Hi. I am a regular cruiser, principally on Princess and Celebrity Lines, but on this occasion re- tried Cunard, following our 2015 cruise on Queen Victoria. This time it was the Queen Elizabeth on a Pacific Ocean journey 17 nights from San Francisco to Auckland, with lots of sea days We are very experienced cruisers, so with this knowledge, my comments are only to add value, and be fair in my critique. Everyone’s values and bias is different, we are lazy cruisers, enjoy a bit of style, relative loners in approach, and don’t enjoy big groups of diners, while many onboard do. We flew Air NZ Auckland to San Francisco, staying at the pleasant Hotel Cova, Ellis Street, with a delightful on the hour free shuttle service to key destinations e.g. Union Square, Fisherman’s Wharf and a boutique breakfast included in the price. This hotel was excellent value, recommended for all, especially families, and those looking for a value hotel, not 5 stars. We are “short dosage cruisers”, primarily go for the ship and enjoy sea days. Yes we enjoy the Ports and have the odd bus tour but on this trip shopped at Hawaii and walked Apia, a delightful Port. Lahaina in the Hawaiian Islands was a tender Port, loved the ride and this time by catching an early return, missed the more bouncy ride some returning passengers experienced later that day on returning to the ship. Our day at Tonga was aborted due to wind shear, the boat got to within 100 meters of the wharf, but conditions not safe, and so this was one port experience we all missed. Credit to Cunard, when we got to Auckland 10 hours early, an overnight stop was provided, so for most passengers a day and a half in our lovely city, one of the great Ports of the world with its wonderful downtown location. Along with Sydney, not too many better berthing locations than Auckland, though San Francisco also right up there. SUMMARY Queen Elizabeth is an elegant ship, with its guest lecturers and entertainment excellent. The formal approach adopted re dress standards after 6pm every evening is not really us, but it appears to have assisted maintaining elegance and standards. The Britannia dining room was elegant with superb service. The entertainment and guest lecturers were really good. Piano or String quartets, along with formal dance lessons were all done with a touch of class, the Queens room a heavenly experience for those who love ballroom dancing. I watched. The ship was nearly full, but queues were never an issue; the ship appeared to have so much space, the library and many lounges all conducive to relaxed elegance, dining facilities and options always available with virtually no wait. One small issue, the air conditioning in the Main dining rooms, Royal Court Theatre was too hot. In a ship demanding of suit and jacket after 6pm, at times it was sweltering. If air conditioning is cool, you can easily put something on to feel warmer, but not the reverse. JOINING THE QUEEN ELIZABETH We took a taxi from our Hotel ($17)to the docks. As this was just another sector of a world cruise that began for many in Southampton, not a huge crowd waiting to get on. 30 minutes and we were in our state room. One enters the ship straight into the Grand Lobby. This is a lovely central area, extending over 3 decks, and reminiscent of a film set of the impressive staircases of the old Ocean Liners. Our room was on Floor 5, Cabin 6191, and this time with a balcony. The Décor for the Queen Elizabeth is not my taste but lots of mahogany, as expected traditional, great ship paintings, a bronze bust of Queen Elizabeth, large photograph of the Queen and for most aboard right up there in ship interior expectation. Queen Elizabeth is simple to find ones way around, she has just three sets of lifts and stairs, labelled A, B and C. The rooms are numbered as if in a traditional hotel, with cabins on Decks 1, 4,5,6,7, and 8. Deck A, with the medical Centre, is below Deck 1, and then the decks continue upwards until the highest cabins on Deck 8 and the public areas on Decks 1, 2, 3, 9, 10 and 11. Main Dining room Floor 2/3, Buffet Level 9, and Gym also. Grill class on the 11th and 12 floors is private to those on that level, but apart from the dining, they join the rest of the ship passengers for most activities Our Cabin 6191 Stateroom #: 6191 was a BD Balcony stateroom near to the stern? It was nice, roomy, and having chilled Champagne sitting there on our arrival was a nice touch. A settee is included; a great addition to the normal 156 sq. feet of a standard interior cabin with twin beds converted to a king size, two bedside drawers, desk and chair plus a small table. There is a nice fridge, a safe and we fund ample wardroom space and place to put our luggage. A Large Flat screen TV. Not that impressed with either the range or current release movies on this ship, Cunard needs to look at its offerings and upgrade TV entertainment package. Offerings were mainly dated and repetitive content. The bathroom was small but functional and the shower pressure excellent. We found the quality of air conditioning also good, but you could not turn it off, only adjust temperature. Normally we find the air conditioning in stateroom is marginal, but not on the Queen Elizabeth. Nelson our Steward was excellent, nothing too much trouble. SHIP MOTION. This was a Pacific Ocean voyage, and the first 5 days was constant movement, twists and lumpy seas. Not impossible, but difficult for those not prepared for motion sickness. The Hawaiian Islands, smooth seas and the seas flattened for our remaining journey. This part of the world including Aussie/NZ is prone to light gales and lumpy seas. My advice is preparation, and don’t take the big ocean voyage if you are very sensitive. RESTAURANTS BRITANNIA RESTAURANT: We were allocated Table 389, a table for 2 on the Floor 2 level, the second only time in over 20 cruises that our pre cruise request was accepted, and we did not have to hassle the Maître a de, re table allocation. We prefer dining alone in the evening, and those tables for 2 are hard to obtain. I understand Cunard adopts the practice of allocating table requests based on booking date, and that seems fair. Many of course like sharing a table with 4/6/10 persons, but we prefer evening dining on our own. The main Dining Room, the Britannia Restaurant, seating 878 guests is one of the most remarkable rooms at sea, spanning two desks at the stern on Decks 2 and 3 at Stairway C. It evokes memories of classic ocean liner restaurants with sweeping staircases and art deco pillars and arches. The restaurant's Art Deco design is captured in its original artwork, wall scenes, and a combination of authentic finishes including polished wood, bronze, mirror and gold leaf. The service was impeccable and the quality of food excellent. I drank 3 bottles of wine on this trip for dinner, good service with excellent wine list. VERANDAH FRENCH RESTAURANT: This alternative Restaurant has a French flair, and looked enticing. Surcharge was $20pp at lunch and $25 pp at night. We did not utilize on this trip, but comments from other passengers were favorable, and it looked exquisite. THE LIDO is an airy self-service buffet restaurant which extends between Staircases B and C across Deck 9. It is open 24 hours, serving breakfast from 0400, followed by lunch from 1130, then afternoon snacks, dinner from 1800 until 2300 and finally evening snacks until breakfast begins. At breakfast there is the usual cereals, fruit including an endless supply of grapes and fresh pineapple, cold meats and cheese and traditional cooked breakfast with omelet’s cooked to order. The Lunch Buffet was solid, and at night the buffet always provided the option of having a fish or meat steak cooked to your liking, along with many other selections. Overall the Lido is very good and we often choose to eat lunch there; the variety is good and being self-service it is quick on the days in port. It was always possible to find a seat. At night the buffet also offered for $17.50 surcharge an alternative theme based buffet. Surcharge too high in my view for the offering,($10 perhaps) and it appeared to be not well utilised THE GOLDEN LION PUB on Deck 2 also does food. It is styled as a typical British pub with classic pub grub: fish and chips, chicken korma, steak and ale pie etc. Also shows live sport. Meals only provided 12pm-2pm. thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips. CAFÉ CARINTHIA To me very disappointing . Serving at a charge a range of teas and coffees only, with a very limited snack range. This needs to change and follow the Princess Cruise option of having a nice 24 café, with a selection of finger foods, cakes and light meals available . ROYAL COURT THEATRE, THE PRODUCTION SHOWS AND THE PRIVATE THEATRE BOXES ROYAL COURT THEATRE The theatre is where all the lectures, films and many of the demonstrations take place as well as the evening shows. It is very large, with capacity for over 800 people. The gallery and the two rows of private boxes on each side, 16 in all, give the impression of a nice traditional theatre on shore. Most of the private boxes are for two although there are some for four. Imposing. We sat free of charge in the boxes for matinee performances, made one feel grand. Cunard does this area very well. Top class entertainment, and excellent speakers on various topics. For example the speakers among others included Professor George Losey “Future of the Coral Reefs” Paul Stickler “The Paddington Place Murders”, he did an excellent series of crime lectures, and Ambassador Chase Untermeyer “The Muslim Hand, and not forgetting Clare Balding, talking of her Olympic and Royalty and Horse racing experiences. Entertainment wise Marcus Winter with his Sand and light painting show, Zac Winningham (Country) Clare Langham (Flutist), Ben Mills (Joe Cocker style) and the wonder NZ Tenor Ben Makisa all wowed the crowds. These are top class entertainers The Royal Court Theatre Company and Dancers (4 lead singers) and Dancers (8) were excellent. Cunard offers a very good standard in production shows. I went to everyone offered, both early and late a total of 8 shows. Great!!!! THE QUEEN'S ROOM Afternoon tea is served in the Queen's Room, and this is the typical Cunard White Star and white gloved service. Served between 3.30-4.30pm each day, High tea at its best. During the day the room is used for a variety of activities. On our cruise there were fencing classes, lunchtime concerts, dancing classes and Bingo. In the evening there is an orchestra for dancing, and it is lively and busy on the special themed evenings, with Balls and Ballroom Latin Dancing common. THE WINTER GARDEN, YACHT CLUB ETC The Winter Garden is between the Lido restaurant and the Deck 9 pool area and has a roof which can be opened in good weather and has a lot of very comfortable seats and tinted picture windows the whole length on both sides. This is an impressive area, a very interesting feature of the Queen Elizabeth. Up on the 10th is the Yacht Club and Corinthian room. Great spaces to relax and read! Disco at night POOLS/SPA There are two outdoor pools and the other is aft of the Lido restaurant, also on 9 Deck. Ample deck space for sunbathing and sitting, and table tennis, and other recreation facilities on upper deck. CLASSICAL CONCERTS AND RECITALS There are a number of locations round the Queen Elizabeth where you can hear classical music, and string quartette. Grab a book and listen to music is very relaxing. LIBRARY I always read a couple of books on a voyage. The library is a two story copy of a private library from Victorian days, with a spiral internal staircase. INTERNET AND WIFI Internet access is very good on the Queen Elizabeth, not always reliable in the areas of the world we reached on this trip. There are twenty computers available in the Internet Centre and there is also Wi-Fi available over most of the ship. Personally we go on vacation to get away from the routines of home, and avoid e-mail and phone communications unless an emergency but observation would suggest we are a dwindling minority. Package costs for internet use are available and reduce costs. GYM We are Gym users on a regular daily basis. The Queen Elizabeth Gym was reasonably equipped, functional and pleasant to use, but some equipment was starting to look weary. Again the issue of background music sometimes dominated the listening devices one brings to the Gym, when listening to the equipment TV’s or monitors. Why do Gyms have taped music, now that the ability to listen to music on your own device is so readily available? This is an area which most cruise lines have yet to come to terms with. Queen Elizabeth is a refined and quiet ship with solid standards, and yet the Gym music is poorly selected, controlled at the whim of staff, often too loud and not suited to the audience Gym is right at the front of the ship and there is a special magic in watching dolphins playing, the sun rising or a port approach as you are working on the cross trainer or treadmills before breakfast of fresh fruit in the Lido. LAUNDRY From the sublime to the essential. There are five self-service passenger laundry rooms, near cabins 4068, 5070, 6068, 7042 and 8060. Between them there are 14 standard Maytag machines and tumble driers, and each has one iron and ironing board. The laundries are open from 0730 to 2100. Laundries can be noisy, so it is best not to have a cabin opposite. Much to our surprise and pleasure use is free, and detergent powder is provided. ITINERARY • February 4th Board Queen Elizabeth at Pier 36 San Francisco • Hawaii Oahu( Good berth, shopping facilities within 500 meters, and transfer spot to Aloha Mall • Hawaii Lahaina (tender) • Apia (Lovely Port access) • Tonga (Good Port access to town , but we were unable to berth due to wind issues) • February 21 Auckland. About 2 years back I developed a desire to sail on the QM2. 50% of my friends who had been on the QM2 loved it and 50% hated it. Because of this I chose a short 7 day cruise from Sydney, Australia down to Tasmania and back to Brisbane, Australia, in February 2017. If it was not good, then I could endure 7 days. It was, in fact, very enjoyable. So much so, that we have booked two more cruises on the QM2. November around the Caribbean and 43 days in January 2018 from Cape Town to Brisbane. Our embarkation in Sydney was so quick and flawless. We were in our cabin very quickly. Far more efficient than on any of the other 14 cruise ships that we have sailed on. We had a balcony cabin on Deck 11. It was spacious and well laid out. We could not fault anything here. When we set out to explore the ship we were astounded by the size of it. Although it carried 2,600 passengers, because of the size, most lounge/bar areas were not at all crowded. Many lounge areas would only have 10 to 15 people in them. The service from every crew member was outstanding. The dining experience in the Britannia Restaurant was equal to any other cruise ship we have been on and we could not fault the quality of the food. The evening entertainment was quite good although we have experienced better on 2 or 3 other cruise ships. On the down side, there were 3 things that could easily be improved. There was always a long queue at the concierge desk due to only half of the service stations being manned at any one time. On the last two days of our cruise we had almost no hot water in our shower and on the last day we had NO shower water at all. Probably due to being on Deck 11. The first time I ordered two glasses of red wine it cost me US20. About $28 Australian. Money is not a problem, but, being Australians, we have an abhorrence to being ripped off. Which this certainly is. We bought no more drinks. So Cunard missed out by being greedy. Read Less

Lovely ports of call made us choose this itinerary and adult medium ship. Dining was excellent, lectures varied and interesting, the evening entertainment was on the whole very good but the Headliners on ship singers and dancers were absolutely excellent. All very talented and ranked as good as any west end show. The cabin was the problem A86 mid aft four down from midships on port side. See cabin review and beware! Not worth the money. Excursions were varied and we took advantage of many in countries as Australia, New Zealand, Papa New Guinea, Japan, South Korea and China all well organised on time and educational. The dining area was well laid out although our table 48 was over the top of the propellor shafts and not only noisy but juddered from the vibrations. Most ships seem to think that rear ship for dining front for theatre and entertaining all at low level. Better if higher up, less shaking and stick the night club and gyms down the rear. Conversation had to be raised when ship moving above 17 knots, obviously designers never take a holiday on cruise ships. Still did not spoil a wonderful holiday (except cabin) see below. Read Less

Having sailed with P&O before, and previously flying back to UK, as I live in Malaysia, I found this cruise perfect, only 8 hours from Malaysia to Sydney and at the end of the cruise in Singapore, just 1 hour flight home. As usual, the staff, from Reception to Cabin Stewards, Bar Staff and Restaurant staff were fantastic. The Restaurant, Meridian offered a wide choice of menu and catered for all tastes. The Bars were well stocks with a great choice of beverage, knowledgeable staff and good prices. My Cabin was kept very tidy, I might say due to the good work of my Steward. Entertainment nightly in the Theatre was of a very good standard, and music to suit most tastes could be found in bars around the ship. Day time entertainment/activities were good and varied. Boarding the ship In Sydney, with a large number of British Cruisers on board and then joined by a large number of Austrlaian, the banter would always be good, and taken by almost all in good fun. There were a small number of people who joined in Sydney and left in Brisbane, who felt they could not follow the basic dress codes, trying to use the main restaurant at night dressed in shorts, an incident that I witnessed myself. But for the most part everyone enjoined each other's company. Excursions were in the main good, but Shanghai proved a little disappointing due in the main from the continual rain, and the delays following our sailing by the Chinese Port Authorities. Apart from that, another enjoyable cruise on Arcadia, with 2 more already booked. Read Less

Am a past Princess passenger with 3 decades of wonderful experiences with the line, until recently. I have found a sad downturn in the products service levels over the past 5 years or so, which includes, staffing, catering and general value for money, which I believe has unfortunately taken Princess from a 4 star offering to a 3 star basic cruising experience. The Princess cruise line of old no longer exists but in name only - or so I believed. I decided to take this 18 day segment of the Pacific Princess's world cruise rather than the general round trip cruises offered for a change of scenery. I was pleasantly surprised. Though the ship is small compared to the regular tonnage the line offers, she was a boutique offering with an old world atmosphere. The cruise was only 18 days - being part of the 101 day world cruise offering. Many of the small touches which Princess was known for and are now lost forever on all its larger ships, this ship manages to retain the values of Princess brand prior to Carnival's take over. On board, the catering was expansive and well presented and I found more meal and menu options on this tiny ship than that on the larger ships. The old fashioned menu items, like escargot, variety of soufflés, proper surf and turf with lobster, along with the evening dinner menus showing more options than that on the other ships in the fleet a refreshing change. The ship also able to retain alternative dining options like Sterling Steakhouse and Sabatini's given her smaller size. Whether this improved catering was in line with the World Cruise experience, I cannot confirm, but was good to see it was provided. Sunday brunch in the main restaurant was another nice touch where it is transformed into a hall of culinary delights with food stations, chef carver's, and international flavours dotted around the restaurant in a semi buffet presentation, another great feature and a pleasure to enjoy. In the evening she offers the traditional 2 settings in her main dining room which may not be everyone's choice, but the system worked well with options to make table or sitting changes if required simple and efficient. the buffet also transforms into an evening al arcarte bistro for a 4th alternative dining choice. The cabins, though the ship is originally from a different cruise line, are very comfortable and functional with a beautiful wooden panelled and old world feel which Princess has kept. Even the smallest and economical cabins have a sofa and other small touches only now provided in the larger and more expensive cabins on Princess's larger ships. The best thing - no queues anywhere at any time, and only having a max of 600 passengers also assists with this. No need for a black card to see the front desk, you will be the only one in the queue at anytime. The same goes for the buffet, the pool, the lectures, the shows etc. The cruise was a pleasure, and a delightful change to the mega ships in the fleet. Her size of 30,000 tons may not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you are tired of the inch of gold sales along with the hyper marketing and art auctions of the bigger ships challenging your senses everyday, then this one will be a definite surprise and refreshing experience. She also has a beautiful old world full promenade deck with space and multiple lounges for those who enjoy this feature of a cruise ship which is now sadly becoming something no longer supported in future ship designs. Another feature this ship has is her size allows her to dock nice and close to her ports of call, not like her larger cousins who sometimes need to dock 1 or 2 hrs drive from the centre of town. I would not hesitate in cruising on her again and bypassing the other ships in the fleet. If however your cruise focus is on having pool side pizza bars, waterslides, outdoor movie screens, and queue for everything while fighting to find a vacant deck chair, then this ship may not be for you. She does not cater for children so family cruising would not be for her either, but if you are looking for a quiet old world style of cruise she may be the vessel within Princess's fleet for you. Great cruise around the world. Chose this particular cruise because of the itenarary, size of the ship and the fact that I could leave from Ft Lauderdale and disembark in Ft Lauderdale since I live in Florida. First the good things on this cruise-the friendly helpful staff onboard the ship. Really made the cruise special from room stewards, staff at front desk, excursions area, bartenders, staff in dining rooms, buffet, casino, shops and cruise directors staff, one of the best managed ships that I have been on. The entertainment that I attended was well done and enjoyable. Enrichment lectures were good through out the cruise especially the ones on segment 2 and 3 of the cruise(LA to Sydney and Sydney to Hong Kong). Additionally the destination expert Deb was fantastic. Really knew her destinations and provided good insight into what there was to see and do at each destination. Also Sammi, cruise director from Dubai to Fort Lauderdale brought energy and fun to her area. Especially enjoyed the sessions she held with the captain, the singers/dancers and the hotel management staff where you got to hear from each of them about themselves, their jobs onboard, etc. great insight into the behind the scenes of a cruise ship! Finally the destinations visited were great and the shore excursions that I did at each port were well managed and provided a great experience at a reasonable price. Also embarkation and disembarkation was the best I have experienced on 30 plus cruises. The not so good-ship staterooms are in need of a good cleaning/sprucing up. My stateroom the drapes were badly stained, linens were dingy and stained, cloth on bedboard was peeling and ripped. The room just felt tired and kind of ratty. Bed was hard as a rock, but in fairness the ship is heading to dry dock shortly so I'm sure a lot of these items will be taken care of. Lotus Spa issue-I spent over $5,000 over the course of the cruise in services and products. I have cruised a lot over the last 20 years and have always used the spa services onboard and this is the first time that I had a bad experience with Steiner/Lotus Spa. I have contacted them separately in regards to this issue of over $700 of services charged to my account that were never rendered. Was unable to get any assistance from the spa manager on this issue as she was not the manager at the time when these charges were billed. Comment was made by one of the front desk staff, I guess she must of just overcharged you...The person who billed the charges and the manager at the time had both left the ship by the time the over charges were discovered and the new manager just refused to check into the issue after being asked on two separate occasions to see what was going on. Poorest customer service I have ever experienced onboard a cruise ship. That being said I will never utilize their services or products again onboard any of the ships that they are on. In closing it really was a trip of a lifetime and I would recommend a cruise around the world to anyone who loves to travel! Read Less

I/we chose this cruise because it was different from any other cruise from Australia and neither of us had been to this part of the world before. If anyone is going on this vessel or her sister ships, Dawn or Sun Princess, my advise is DON'T BOOK ANY CABIN ON "E" DECK. Why, it is directly below the Promanade Deck where everybody walks or runs for exercise. As a result, the thump, thump thump for there shoes/runners comes right through the deck into your cabin. We had people running at 2345 hrs and again at 0445 hrs. It was a nuisance and as a result of a complaint by me and others to the Captain, the forward section of the Promanade Deck was closed off nightly from about 1930 till next morning. Further, be advised that on the Sea Princess, the deck immediately in front of the Horizon Court Buffet, that is the deck immediately above the Bridge, is closed off at sunset and opened again after sunrise. This is unlike the Dawn Princess where that deck is closed only in adverse weather conditions. Can't speak on the Sun Princess as I have not sailed on her. General comment. The ship did the innaugaral voyage that circumnavigated South America, Sydney to Sydney, all 84 days of it. Seas were smooth for 82 days except the trip from bay Of Islands to Sydney where we copped the tailend of Cyclone Debbie with winds of 120 kph or more. The ship certainly needs a good port visit and overhaul. Many repairs being done throughout the voyage. The crew were tremendous and couldn't be faulted. What could be faulted was the selfish passengers, who, after being drummed every day for five weeks by the Captain to wash your hands after using the toilet or sanitise their hands before entering a food station, persistently refused to sanitise and as such, for approx. five weeks, norovirus was on board. All I can say is this, if you don't want to wash your hands after going to the toilet or be prepared to sanitise your hands before going through a food station, THEN DON'T BLOODY WELL GO as you are jeapodising everyone on the ship because of your stupidity. Aurora. Jan 17. 21 nights Our first time on Aurora, we booked not realising that this was the first leg of a world cruise (not that it made a huge amount of difference to us) and celebrating 180 years of the P and O company/cruise line Another very competitively priced cruise Embarkation at Southampton was slightly better than 12 months ago, however we arrived at our given time and still had to wait two hours in the terminal building, boarding just after 4pm. At least this time we managed to find a seat and weren’t sat on the floor. We boarded quickly and found our cabin decided to get a cup of tea then immediately had to attend the safety drill. On the way down the stairs to the cabin to get the life jackets a muster steward told us to go straight to the muster station and wouldn’t allow us to get our life jackets from the cabin. This meant they had to find life jackets for us and this was a little embarrassing as I know what everyone was thinking and it would have taken one minute to have fetched our own The sail away was lovely with fireworks being let off as we left Southampton. A couple of bumpy but fine days crossing Biscay I liked Aurora, there seemed to be a lot of space with plenty of rooms over several decks where people dissipated. The outside space was great and we could always easily find a sun lounger even on sea days. There are three main pools, the front pool at times had some music and occasionally a singer for an hour or so at lunchtime. I thought this could have been improved on with some background music at least. The middle pool was the quiet one with a retractable glass roof (by the buffet restaurant). The rear pool had great views but was very cold and had the kiddies pool and play area incorporated We had afternoon tea several times in the Medina restaurant (deck 6) 4-4.45pm, lovely but always seemed rushed as they wanted to clear the tables for the evening service that starts at 6pm. I would have thought the Alexandria restaurant would have been better as service didn’t start until 6.30pm Overall good ports of call. However a shame the two hot ports in Egypt were replaced with cold ones in the Med but if security was an issue then it’s for the best I guess. We took on security at Suez and they were still with us when we disembarked in Dubai Our cabin F227 was incredibly noisy at night when sailing. Impossible to get a sound night’s sleep even with ear plugs I found myself falling asleep most days whenever I sat down. The cabin had double the storage space that we needed. It had a good shower that had good pressure and kept its temperature (until two days before we disembarked, then it played up and just didn’t get fixed!). The cabin was well laid out with good lighting. Deck 5 was fairly quiet overall (apart from inside our cabin!). The lifts were quick and because we were on the bottom passenger deck usually empty when we called them. We had the best cabin steward ever Lira, she always had a smile and a moment for a chat, and our cabin was kept spotless at all times The port lectures were very good and I like the overall information given, not just trying to flog P & O excursions. Thank you Krystal. In fact the excursion team as a whole were more than helpful ( as were the reception team) The port presentations were available to view on the cabin TV on a loop as were most of the lectures/presentations. I enjoyed several of the speakers and on sunny sea days when I didn’t want to spend time in the theatre during the day this is an ideal way of not missing out We were on freedom dining and used the Medina dining room several times for our evening meals. We never had to wait to be seated and enjoyed some lovely company. I couldn’t fault any of the food or menus, and the service was first class I found the Horizon buffet restaurant not as good as for instance on Oceana, where they have two separate serving areas and one is generally always open. Aurora has one in the center and when it’s closed..... It also closes at 9pm (Oceana 9.30pm). The food was good but I joined several very very long lines for the hot food and you could be in line and waiting for 15mins at times, they cordon off half the Horizon restaurant serving area in the evenings and use it exclusively for the Beach house service. Also they had a new type of milk in a tube and it’s very difficult to open, many people complained but were told it’s the company nothing we can do The Lido grill I found rather lacking as it’s now a “grab and go” and the hot food i.e. burgers hotdogs have been precooked and wrapped, then left in a heated cabinet. They weren’t pleasant with the bread being half toasted and hard no onions available etc. A member of staff is present behind the counter and I did ask a couple of times for fresh food but was referred to the pre cooked cabinet. There is a cold cabinet with sandwiches and they are very good The rear lounge Carmen’s seems a little underused for entertainment, we did see a couple entertainers here and one show from the headliners. Most of the time it’s used for themed discos and old time dancing, Aurora has many rooms and I thought one of them might be better used for the half a dozen people on the dance floor. The cinema was also used for other things i.e. guest speakers and classical concerts, when seeing a movie would have been just the thing to do at times. The entertainment was on the whole good and the Headliners group well above average Overall we had a really fantastic 21 nights aboard Aurora, everything ran like clockwork, fab crew and service. The niggles above are just that (apart from the noisy cabin) You can always pick holes in things if you want. I would defiantly cruise on Aurora again but only with a different cabin Read Less

We always wanted to see more of the world but work and family made it difficult so when retired Magellan gave us the opportunity. Cabin steward brilliant. Food ok but too spicy for us. Waldorf restaurant good. Entertaining really good shows. Should have been informed US dollars were accepted everywhere instead of us getting out various currencies. Shore excursions were well managed but people disembarking on booked excursions should have taken priority over independent passengers because it became very crowded at certain ports. Overall we had a wonderful experience. The countries we visited were an experience we will never forget. Some ports of call were too short more time needed to take in the sights. On board the staff were attentive and polite throughout. I was taken ill on one tour and received excellent care by the ship courier who came on the trip with us. Medical staff excellent. Could not fault level of care given. Birthday while on board was recognised by cabin staff and gave card &a towel decoration. Read Less

I have previoulsy sailed with Holland America, and Voyages of Discovery. I Picked this one as it was my 65th year. I made many friends, I particulary enjoyed the Restarant Open seating dining at breakfast and lunchtime. In the evening a seating plan was in use. The Bistro deck also had a Buffet style arrangement. Guest Relation's put on events for single travellers which was good for me, also other social events were staged, e.g. Quiz,Dance, and Bridge sessions to name a few. A range of guest lecturers kept us entertained on a range of subjects appertaing to our cruise itinery. a Full range of excursions as you would expect, reasonably priced in my oppionion. I enjoyed the trip so much iam going on CMV MV Columbus in january. This time around I aim to undertake more ship board life. Standards were genearlly good, if you are a top of the range traveller, this style would not be for you.However it was exceptional value for your pound. Read Less

Cruise was absolutely amazing. It was awhile to embark but then again the hotels ship you out all at the same time so we all pretty much arrived at the same time. There were so many returning cruisers that the "expedited line" and the regular line were both about 45 minutes to get checked in. We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and it did not disappoint, the Great Wall of China, The Forbidden City, the Xian Warriors, Singapore, Oman, Petra in Jordan, the Acropolis in Athens, Malta, Panama Canal, Suez canal. My bucket list is much shorter now. With visiting all the cities is really showed us the world we live in and our preconceived notions were happily changed. The Amsterdam is really showing here age. There was a lot of water leaks both in the Common Areas and the Staterooms during our Pacific Ocean crossing as there were some rough sailing days. They even had to replace some of the carpet. Rumour was that there was a lot of mold floating around and this caused "ship's cough". I cannot confirm this but most of us had a cough at one time or another. After they changed the air filters in our staterooms, it seemed to get better. The décor in the staterooms is pretty old and faded but clean and spotless. The food on this journey was remarkable, I don't remember ever not having a great pick on the dinner menu. We also had themed meals based on which port we were in. The average age on this cruise was upper 70's to low 80's so the entertainment was geared to this audience. Being quite a bit younger put us at a disadvantage. Lots of classical music, show tunes and easy listening. The ships entertainment was average at best but that is true of all the cruises I have been on. There were lots of lectures on the history of the places we were visiting which was great for understanding the customs and ways at each port. There was also a location specialist who told us what to see and what to shop for and what to do and not do. This was a great help. There were ports where we were at a disadvantage as there were no maps to guide us to what we wanted to see. There were shore excursions off the boat but they were stupid expensive - ie: bus to Atomic Bomb Museum, Peace Park and lunch $119 US. We walked 2 blocks, took a tram, walked a block, visited the Museum and had lunch for $25 US each. As the mobility of a lot of the guests was limited due mostly to the age of the cruisers, the excursions are the only way they can possibly see the ports. The service on this boat was superb from the Lido Cooks and Attendants , the Dining Room Staff, the stateroom staff, front desk, librarian etc. It was great to have a library as this was a 111 day voyage but the ship should go with a digital library as well. There didn't seem to be a lot of new books on the shelves. Of great value was the coin laundry, $2 for a wash and dry was great. There were only 8 washers and 8 dryers on this ship but because most of the customers were return visitors who got free laundry it was enough. Besides the super expensive Shore Excursions , the internet was another fail. It is expensive $55 US for 100 minutes and because it is so slow, your minutes go by really fast. I believe that it should be by usage and not time. Most of my time on the internet was waiting for a page refresh or sending an email. I loved the cruise and would definitely take another world cruise but I think that I would go with another cruise line to have something to compare this to. Read Less

We booked this cruise because of the ports and Jacques Pepin would be on board. We upgraded to a marvelous Owners suite--8th floor. I didn't like we were on the 8th floor at first, but once in suite, it was glorious and contrary to other reports, we got lots of sun on the balcony (we were in an oceania suite on prior cruise and never got sun...so it depends on how the ship is sailing). Food was always good...service in Jacques was rushed, Toscana very slow and Polo right on the mark. We ate in our room several times and Butler always did a great job. Service: Cabin service was always good. Our butler was very good. We were alerted by another CC person that there was a virus on the previous cruise. When we boarded there was no sign of the virus OTHER THAN the endless TV "ads" about washing hands and singing happy birthday twice. There were also announcements about how important it was to have a clean ship. Needless to say, even though, (and I applaud the Staff) we weren't at a high level of sickness, the Captain was always one step ahead of protocol to prevent further spreading. It didn't work! I got sick on day 3--24 hour virus as did at least 6 other people I knew from CC. It took me two bounces to get attention from the infirmary and got a great nurse to come to my room with nausea pills and tylenol for my fever. Here is my BIG issue: When I wanted to speak to the GM and applaud the efforts of the crew in trying to keep one step ahead (as well as point out some of the areas that could be improved), the front desk wanted to know if I had an appt, then would not give me an appt and asked if I could speak to the Cruise director...and eventually got the assistant cruise director. REALLY? Each and every time on previous cruises, when I wanted to speak to the GM, I GOT TO THE GM! I am only a 7th time cruiser and I was in the Owners suite, but that made no never mind. This is the second cruise in 1 year that got a virus. CLEARLY there is a problem with Oceania protocol, even though I do applaud their efforts for going above and beyond. For example, on Riviera last year, they NEVER enclosed the buffet with saran as they did on the Marina to prevent folks from trying to touch things. I STILL THINK OCEANIA DOESN'T GET IT. AND the GUESTS don't get it. When the Cruise Director refused to pas the mike around during a wonderful event with Jacques, the guests booed the concept. REALLY? They wanted to pass germs around? Unfortunately the CD didn't handle it well as he did not tell Jacques in advance how he would handle the Q/A and even Jacques made fun of the arrangement. The CD should have made a direct comment about the safety of the passengers but instead just said this was CDC protocol (like who cares or understands)..... Bottom LINE...I am going to try a different cruise line before I return to Oceania...I am very disappointed. Read Less

Chose first for destinations, secondly because it was Oceania....previously on the Marina, and loved the ship. Cruise Director on Sirena was far superior to the one on Marina though. Meals and service in Red Ginger and Toscana were very good. Too often we had to search for a seat in the Terrace. For most part service was excellent; the odd person appeared to hate their job and it showed. Wine especially was very over priced for the quality. On the regular winelist we found our go to wine at 4 times what we pay for it in Hawaii. Doesn't Oceania buy 'duty free'? cocktails at two for one still worked out to regular price for each in CDN dollars, so no bargain there. Great massage onboard; and very so so pedicure for a very very high cost. Cabin was very small; but meticulously maintained. We would go on the Marina again, but definitely not the Sirena. Read Less

This was the 12 night cruise from Stockholm to Amsterdam. Three days in St. Petersburg was the highlight of the trip. Staff was extremely helpful, mostly friendly, but somewhat impersonal. This may be for a couple of reasons: 1) the Captain's leadership style, and/or 2) It appeared that many staff members were about to leave for vacation. Many ratings were downgraded because of one or two issues we experienced: 1) Dining and Service - main dining room food and service was poor, with surly wait staff and food well below the quality of the other on-board restaurants. We preferred eating in the Terrace to the Grand Dining Room. This was the reason for the downgraded ratings. 2) Enrichment Activities - This is a somewhat small ship and activities are limited, probably based on previous customer desires and feedback. Not bad, just limited. 3) Shore Excursions - One shorex was most unfortunate: Gdansk, Poland. This was not so much the tour as the tour guide, who did as little as possible to make the experience enjoyable. He basically left us on our own to see the old town area, plus showed no interest in our questions and/or comments during the tour. His response to me when I asked him about my family's home village about 50 miles from Gdansk was an indifferent "You can Google it." Also, the ship's excursions were overpriced and undervalued compared to what we booked independently in several cities. 4) Value - Some port times were painfully limited. Longer times in Tallinn, Gdansk and especially Copenhagen would not have impacted next morning arrival times at next ports of call. Read Less

Just back from our first but not last Oceania cruise.We did a 12 day Baltic cruise in verandah stateroom aft on deck 6. Great location. Quiet. Handy for the Terrace Cafe. Used the stairs all the time. Room is small. Balcony furniture is old and uncomfortable. Great bed and bedding. Room small, awkward getting in to closet if someone wants to get in our out of the closet. Stateroom was kept clean. Nice Bulgari toiletries but small bathroom. Very good food. Hot plates for hot food. Meat and fish and seafood perfectly cooked for our liking. Went to Polo and Toscana once each....service is slow. Did not go more than once as the Grand Dining Room was very good.Waves Grill good for lunch....wish it was open for dinner. Best burger. Good wines by the glass selection. Great itinerary...some free shuttles from the ship in to town.Did not do any ship excursions. Crew hard working and friendly. Did not click with the cruise director David somebody...he seemed arrogant. Evening entertainment so so but it is a small ship. Did not buy anything in the shops....no large or XL sizes. The staff of the Marina very attentive. We were very pleased with the service provided by the wait staff and our room steward. The wait staff are very busy but we found that they try very hard to please. Our room steward was remarkable in her willingness to be helpful. We had a butler that was very pleasant but needed to communicate better and take more initiative. We would ask him for some and we would not hear back in a timely manner. We found that we had to make our own arrangements. The food was very good and well presented. We hope that the tendency to use premixed foods like liquid eggs and orange juice from concentrate does not become a trend which would spoil Oceania's sterling reputation for quality meals. We also felt that the furniture throughout the ship although very stylish was snot comfortable. The seating was quite low. It was not uncommon to see a person being pulled out of the chair by a partner or friend. The enrichment lectures with Kathleen Wulf were excellent. She provided a great deal of useful information both general and specific about the countries and cities that we were visiting. The cruise director was also helpful in recognizing that many passengers prefer to explore the destinations on their own. He would be sure to let us know of bus shuttles, taxi availability as well as tour buses like Hop On, Hop Off. The excursions that we took through the ship were good and took us to areas that we might not have discovered although we sometimes felt rushed with only 20-30 minutes free time. Read Less

We have taken a lot of Oceania cruises and especially like the larger ships, primarily because of the cabins, the large bathrooms, the magnificent common areas and our favorite restaurant, Red Ginger. The food generally is great. 22 nights and only one meal in the main dining room, veal roast, that wasn't good. Most meals were better than fine restaurants anywhere and Red Ginger's surpass any Asian place, especially the lobster pad Thai, the crispy duck/ watermelon salad, panang beef and the sea bass. They are worth the price of admission And of course there is no price for admission! . ALL the wait staff, maitre d's and help in general couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The cabin however was starting to look shabby and the balcony was dirty feeling. NCL might have cut some corners but in general we still love Oceania. . . We don't take excursions because they are too expensive for what you get. Oceania has wonderful itineraries and in our experience the ports-not Oceania- offer free shuttle service into town if the dock is any distance from the city center. All in all we love it. Read Less

I've cruised before, but my husband had not. I wanted to take an excellent cruise to convince him this is a great way to vacation. It worked; we booked another cruise before this cruise ended. We choose our own air and own pre-cruise hotel, because he travels a lot we had lots of points to use. We took a bus tour to Stonehenge on our way to Southampton. It was enough time for a quick visit to the site and we met some of our fellow passengers too. Embarkation was a breeze, our PH room was ready when we boarded the ship. Our cabin 10014 was lovely. Plenty of space and storage in bathroom and closet. We really enjoyed the private deck and we know we'll never sail without one. We realized we didn't need all the room space, we can get a smaller room for our next trip. There are so many different common areas that we could always find a place to spend time and we didn't want to stay in our room. Our favorite spot was a sparsely populated enclosed balcony on 14. It has double occupancy lounge chairs. We liked the library and the lectures were very informative. Like most guests, we weren't impressed by the entertainment. We choose Oceania primarily because of its food reputation. We enjoyed most meals. Jacques was the best restaurant on board. The drink prices weren't as daunting as we expected. The wine list isn't long or impressive, but there was just enough to enjoy. We found Oceania's shore excursions are expensive and limited in scope. We joined other guests for Overlord tour in Normandy and highly recommend that touring company. Fortunately, most ports were walking distance to the city's downtown, so we walked around a lot on our own. Service was fantastic. British Air lost my luggage, and the concierge was very helpful in trying to locate it (we never did, but that was British Air's mistake, not Oceania's) Read Less

The cruise was excellent, not many passengers and plenty of room to move around, if it were full though I expect it would have been harder to enjoy. The staff could not be faulted, 10 out of 10. The food though was just average, but a lot of effort was put into beach and deck dining, a bar was also made available on every remote landing where time permitted. For the price charged the standard of food was not up to the standard expected of Silverseas. The ship however, though new to Silverseas is greatly in need of an upgrade, which we were told would happen in October, so if you go before then , be forewarned and temper your expectations. The remote places visited were very interesting and the locals put on an outstanding welcome for us. The authorities in Indonesia however gave the ship a very hard time at three different locations, which left everyone feeling very unseasy, crew and passengers alike. Choose this cruise as I liked the itinerary particularly St. Peters burgh which I always wanted to go to. Ship is not too big which we liked, it is getting older but in good shape overall. As we had a premium sea view one cabin it was quite roomy. Thought the food overall was very good, plenty of variety for such a long cruise. Entertainment was mostly quite good. Could not fault the service of the staff in cabin, dining room and overall. Service desk I feel could have been more informative often, not quite as happy with them Shore excursions I thought were very expensive. In Europe we only booked with Alla Tours, who were not only much cheaper but very efficient. I would recommend them and have to anybody who wants a stress free tour. All their guides speak perfect English, no waiting in lounges like Princess Tours, Alla Tours are there waiting for you. The tours are done in smaller groups which is good too. With Princess Tours you sometimes had guides whose English could have been better. Our tour in St. Peters burgh with Alla was an experience we will not forget, they were brilliant , I was so glad that my agent recommended them. Embarkation was a bore as always but I must say Princess was very efficient with disembarkation in Sydney. Would I recommend a World Cruise, yest most definitely and would love to go again myself. I wanted to visit Russia and I like cruising for a long time. Food was excellent, could not fault and I felt it had a lot of variety. Service was great by cabin steward and waiters. Felt customer relations could have been a lot better, not very knowledgeable people felt often and many felt the ship could have been run better, mostly small things on my part but I did hear of a couple of complaints. Saying this we had a wonderful time and sadly its coming to an end. People mostly were great to be with, as the staff and good entertainment. Would do it all again tomorrow. Excursions were of course overpriced and I tended to book with Alla when I could. Often you can pick up cheaper venues of seeing things in the port and I would recommend that for first timers. I would bring less clothes on a world cruise as you tend to buy more and then have the problem of bringing it back. If you do craft join the knitting group as you can make a lot of friends and have a great time. Read Less

I chose this cruise because I liked the itinerary and one of the stops was Israel and wanted to see Jerusalem. I have sailed this similar cruise 2 years ago starting in Hong Kong but this time the embarkation was a nightmare. it was difficult to know who was in line for what. I think many of the 1,500 people thought the ship was going to leave without them the way they pushed and shoved to get in line to embark. Anyway we finally got on. Our cabin was ready and our stewardess, which was a pleasant change from having a man, was wonderful. She was like having a personal maid all to ourselves. The cabin although spotless was showing signs of wear and tear. The ship is going into dry dock this spring for a refit. It looks like they are making major changes for the better. The food in the main dining room was excellent as always. I think I only had one main course that was not up to par. Ditto the food in the Upstairs cafeteria, it was much improved, except for these darn steam table vegies. The waiters and waitresses all deserve a gold medal for putting up with some of the "Guests" . As I said to someone who was berating his steward for some minor detail," they are stewards not slaves". The entertainment, well what can I say, it was the same review shows I have seen several times on this ship. The first timers I am sure enjoyed the shows. Too many comedians for my taste but again that is a personal thing.. The ship set sail from New York at the beginning of January and everything was fine till we got to Dubai. A large contingent about 1, 500 got off and 1,500 new people got on and brought Nora virus with them. The people who were sick knew they had it before they got on but lied on the form you fill in before embarking hence it went through the ship like wild fire. This disrupted the whole itinerary as Oman would not allow us to dock nor would Jordan. My daughter who especially wanted and booked to go to Petra did not get there. There we are floating at sea waiting for our turn to go through the Suez canal, we were too early due to not stopping in Oman then too early again for the next port because we did not stop in Jordan. I think it was a good thing they did not say who the first people were that got sick as there might have been a massacre at sea. The tours in Vietnam were interesting and fun and the shopping is great at the large market in Ho Chi Minh , Ben Thanh market. If you don't like bargaining stay in the outer ring of the market where the prices are fixed. Then move in if you think you can bargain for a cheaper price. Bangkok is a must see as the palace is beautiful, but hope it is not too hot as there is not much shade. Cambodia, I did not take a tour just the Cunard bus into the town. It was interesting but the people although very friendly were living in poor conditions. The roads were unpaved in many places, the market although indoors lacked tables. Most of the goods were laid out on the floor. I think the area that the bus took us to was planned so that we would be forced to take a "TUK TUK" as we were inundated with them the minute the bus stopped. The drivers were so insistent to the point it was so unpleasant we got back on the bus to return to the ship. Malaysia is a shoppers paradise and Kuala Lumpur is easy to get around. Langkawi Island is beautiful. That is the island that the movie THE KING AND I was filmed.I did not take a tour this time as I had been there before but stayed at resort and enjoyed the day ashore. Colombo, Sri Lanka well what can I say. If you take the Cunard bus you will only be taken to three different tourist shopping traps with the same overpriced trinkets as all other tourist shops that are part of any tour be it Hong Kong, Bangkok, Israel, India, Egypt, or wherever you are. If the tour shows shopping you can bet it will be in a warehouse that is only for to sell to tourists. Locals do not shop there. The standard line of the tour guide will be that they know the best places and the other will only rip you off. As this was an extended tour with numerous stops I could go on but I am sure by now you will be bored reading this. I travelled with my adult daughter who had not been on a cruise before and she had a great time. We each did our own thing. In the evening we preferred the G37 nightclub rather than the staid Queens room where the dance floor was taken up with more professional type dancers rather than couples enjoying a twirl or shuffle around the dancefloor. There was lots of entertainment, small bands and piano players and singers in the evening, interesting lectures and speakers on numerous topics during the day. The ship was geared to a more mature group, I would say age 45 up to 95. Very few children on board although they have a very good children's programme. We disembarked in New York and almost everyone got off. There was the odd few that were returning to Southampton. It is a slow process as all the luggage has to be off first then we can go. A tip- if you are disembarking in New York, first, get in line for a porter and have him get your luggage. They have a fast track line through customs and immigration otherwise you will be struggling with you luggage in a very long line of people to clear immigration. It is ten dollars well spent.
