Previous experiences with Viking was extremely positive. We had been on River Cruises, this was the first time on an ocean liner. Though it was off season, the weather was very pleasant other than one day in Sicily.
The service on board the ship was outstanding. Restaurants were plentiful with good choices for the meals. Cabin crew service was outstanding as well.

I rarely give a review and definitely not a "firewalled positive" review like this one! We chose this cruise to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. It exceeded our expectations in every way. What we appreciated the most were the genuine interactions with all the staff and crew. We tried to get to know the staff that we saw often and were grateful that they shared how much they enjoyed their ...
This was our first ever ocean cruise and our second Viking cruise (the first was a wonderful Viking River Cruise on the Rhine), and we couldn't have been happier! Our cabin was lovely and spacious, with a big balcony; the food was delicious (fantastic variety and so many great venues to choose from -- we had some of the best sushi I've ever had and the desserts were fantastic); the entertainment ...
We had cruised with Viking once before on the Rhine River Cruise and loved it! We chose this cruise because of the ship size, the leisure travel itinerary and the final stop at Stonehenge. We were so happy with everything -- the greeting at the airport when we arrived, the cleanliness of the ship, the food, the service, the entertainment, the availability of relaxation opportunities -- seating ...
This was our 3rd Viking cruise, but our first ocean one. The general consensus was that if we had never taken a Viking river cruise then this would have been the best experience we’ve ever had. However the larger ship with the greater population, while well managed, lacks the intimacy of the river longships. An example is dining in the restaurant. The open seating with the smaller tables was not ...
This was our first cruise on Viking and to the Mediterranean. We have been on several other cruise lines and all have been good. Viking probably appeals to a 55+ age group so there is not a lot of party, drinking themes in its programs or tours. The excursions we took through the line were all well done and had very knowledgeable people conducting the tours.
The dining was very good with ...
Please dismiss the ' moaners and groaners ' reviews, they are totally out of order.
Jet2 P&O charter flight from Manchester was good, on arrival in Tenerife one does need to collect luggage, and it's a short walk to the coach, it then arrives in your cabin very quickly. Coach transfer around 45 minutes, embarkation very quick we were on the ship within 5 minutes. ( For a very special treat ...
We chose the Viking Panama Canal 16 day cruise because of the opportunity for extended sea days mixed with South American tropical ports of call. This itinerary afforded us ample time aboard to take advantage of multiple Nordic Spa days, daily promenade walks at sunrise, sunsets on our veranda and star lite nights. Quiet times to sunbath with a good book or reflect upon the soul stirring live ...
This was a wonderful trip although I would hesitate to go back during the Christmas/Ephiphany holiday as we lost two stops along the way due to the holiday. Having said that, Viking made it very nice to celebrate on the ship. We had a nice Christmas, a fun New Year’s Eve and an amazing spread on New Year’s Day.
I would not take any other cruise line again after sailing with Viking. This was ...
We came back yesterday having spent a couple of days in Barcelona and then a 12-night cruise on the Celebrity Infinity sailing to Lanzarote, Tenerife, La Palma, Casablanca, Tangier, Cadiz, Valencia, Barcelona. The Infinity is the very first ship we ever sailed on, and now with many cruises under our belts, we were looking forward to seeing her again. Last time we had a standard balcony stateroom ...
