We just returned from a 2 week Trans-Atlantic cruise on the Celebrity Infinity, leaving Harwich UK on 10/13/14. This was my wife’s and my first cruise. We had a veranda room mid-ship on deck 7. Overall, I would give the trip a grade of 80%. The trip was better than we expected, and we were happy and satisfied. But there are definitely areas where a small amount of work could bring much ...
This was not my first trip with Celebrity nor will it be my last. There were four of us on this trip and we thought the transatlantic would give us the best of both worlds, excursions and sea days. Having sailed on many ship prior the sea days were seen as a chance to rest while perhaps taking in some interesting activities. A typical day started with breakfast in the dining room as we like to sit ...
This was my first trip on a Oasis class ship and I was well pleased. Took RCI transfer from FLL to ship, a "walk aboard" embarkation (very quick), many eating area open for lunch, to Cabin at 1300, luggage arrived by 1500, and off to enjoy the ship for the next 12 nights. As someone who really only likes small, quiet ships, - and is usually disturbed by the :"noise" on RCI, I was most pleasantly ...
The royal is about 18 months old and offers some changes from other Princess ships
Hits: the expanded gathering space in the plaza is well done and very popular, The theater is well done with tier seating and easier access, the buffet is well laid out and offers a varied menu with very good quality, the walking ,running area is a plus .
Misses: the loss of the ability to walk around the ship on ...
This was our 5th Royal Caribbean cruise and we (hubby and I) sailed with my sister and brother in law who were on their first cruise ever! - What a ship to pick for the first one.
Embarkation was smooth and we were onboard at Fort Everglades by 12.15PM so made our way to sign up for the drinks package, check our dining table and sit up on on the pool deck sipping cocktails. We followed this with ...
We've cruised about 29 times and this was our 3rd RCCL cruise. The ship, about 12 years old, is still very pretty and easy to navigate. Our cabin, 9034, was a balcony and far enough away from the atrium to avoid the noise that others have complained about. The cabin attendant was perfect. The ship itself had some issues. We needed to call to report plumbing problems four consecutive days. Others ...
Overall, this was a very enjoyable cruise from London (Harwich) to Boston. Our oceanview room was satisfactory and the decor of the ship very nice. Our room steward and waiters all were fine, nothing to complain about. But as others have mentioned, on our thread and in reviews, the food, and some amenities are falling on this ship! After having fantastic dinners on Holland America and Carnival, I ...
This was our fourth cruise with Cunard three on the Queen Mary and one on the QE2. We still enjoy Cunard but as other people have pointed out there are some issues on the Mary that show neglect which need attention otherwise the ship will deteriorate further. Our balcony had lots of rust visible which showed that there is cost cutting with maintenance. The first voyage there was no rust visible on ...
I was surprised to read the negative reviews for the same cruise I was on. No voyage is ever perfect but these folks didn't experience the horrific crossing to Europe on RCl Brilliance that I did in May 2014. In comparison this was a heavenly eight days. The lecturers alone are in a class by themselves. I guess the good part of the awful food on the Brilliance was that my husband and I lost weight ...
We had booked this transatlantic cruise far in advance and joined the roll call early on. NCL’s freestyle dining allowed us to meet more interesting people than we have ever met before. I think the people onboard were the highlight of our experience!
Pre Cruise: We flew into Fort Lauderdale and had booked QLS (Quality Limousine Service) which turned out to be quite a disappointment. We waited for ...
