Overall an enjoyable cruise with one of our favourite cruise lines. The food was very good and on a few occasions much better than expected. However the Prima not our favourite ship, by a long way. The layout is poor with small venues and tight walkways, they really have crammed everything into this ship.
THE SHIP
As stated we were not fans of the ship overall, the decor is stunning in most ...
For comparison, we were on the NCL Escape last year. Newer doesn’t mean better. This is the case of the NCL Prima. It feels like being on a moving upscale hotel on water. It’s not like being on a typical cruise ship that we used to. The general areas where the shops, the customer services are located are just “blah”, nothing fancy. There is no sparkling twirling staircase or fancy ceiling. ...
We sailed on the Grandeur's maiden voyage from Trieste to Barcelona, then continued on from Barcelona to Miami. The ship largely met the many glowing reviews, with the Compass Rose main dining room the most stunning MDR we have experienced. Service was flawless and, contrary to early reviews, we found the production shows excellent with the talent of the performers, costumes, and staging all a ...
Ship is badly in need of an update and suffered numerous mechanical and scheduling issues on the 10 Night Spain/Portugal trip.
Staff did their best but seem to be significantly under-staffed compared to pre-Covid levels so service siffers. Persian Garden was only 25% operational and priority embarkation seems to be only available at beginning and end of cruise.
The cost of the Retreat is ...
Given the marketing, the press coverage and the claims of “the world’s most luxurious ship” with a "heritage of perfection”, we were very excited and prepared to have our mind blown on the inaugural cruise of this new vessel. In retrospect, as relatively new to cruising, we should have done more research on Regent and their vibe. Now don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot to like about Grandeur, but ...
In May 2022, my husband and I along with 4 others in our group, put deposits down on what I thought would be a cruise of a lifetime. So I thought. Barcelona to Dubai with visits to Israel and Egypt was what sold us. Fast-forward to 2023 and this cruise itinerary was basically scrapped including Israel, Egypt, Jordan & Oman (and rightfully so because of the war.) However, Oceana replaced these ...
The cruise was meant to be a relaxing break and booked a Concierge cabin that was partially obscured.
On boarding we were left to our own devices, no assistance in finding our way to the cabin and when in the cabin no information on or where the welcome aboard lunch was being held. The concierge cabin was no different to other standard balcony cabins. The glass in the veranda had a crack ...
Did a 3 night mini cruise and had an enjoyable time overall.
We weren’t fans of the breakfast and lunch buffets; it was too much a canteen. We are used to P&O and Royal Caribbean where you are able to help yourself rather than queue for someone else to put everything on the plate for you. The queues for drinks were also huge so we never enjoyed a drink with lunch.
Unfortunately we were put ...
It is the newest Silverseaship for me . I was looking g forward to the Thermal spa and cooking classes and silver note. Regrettably the Note and cooking g classes impossible to get a reservation. One books and then it’s cancelled because no space.
The FCC is very inexperienced ( joined Silversea the day I boarded this cruise) and not up to Silversea standards. I got a quote from him in writing ...
We tried an MSC Cruise from Rome after getting a great deal on a black Friday sale. I am glad we didn't pay a ton for the cruise. It came with included WIFI that worked really well. Also a drink package which was great. The ports were all ones we enjoyed and had looked forward to them.
Ship was nice and new but just felt like it was done on the cheap. Seemed like every where you looked ...
