Crowded, noisy dining & unfinished

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Sun Princess

Free balcony casino player offer. Cabin lovely - glass shower enclosure, sofa, comfy twin beds, adequate closet and drawers. Still winter in Europe so balcony not used. Shows with guest performers in atrium seen on three levels. A few standouts but no theater experiences in arena. Area 19 closed. Buffet extra crowded and noisy at B&L. 7:30 deck 6/7 dining rooms had long lines waiting to be seated ...

Disappointing cost cutting by P&O!

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Iona

Having enjoyed previous cruises with P&O and the itinerary suited our need to celebrate a birthday, we booked a cruise to Spain and Portugal. The ship is beautiful but the quality of the food and the service has declined over recent times. The daytime entertainment was poor with most events designed to 'sell' rather than entertain! No live music until mid afternoon yet the lounge was often full. ...

Always our favourite cruise company going downhill

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Marella Explorer

We didn't realise that we were going to a holiday camp. In fairness I have to say that the cleanliness, cabins, shows, restaurants and staff service and attitudes were excellent, however we have travelled many times with Thomson and Marella and as soon as they went all inclusive their product became Benidorm. You are supposed to at least wear "tailored" shorts in the restaurant but they were ...

Not quite what I had hoped 21 nights of mediocrity

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Euribia

I give my thoughts as this is my 20th + cruise and have traveled with several lines. I chose this cruise as it should be 21 days of what I had hoped would be getting to know other guests and chat. I was not aware there are huge changes of guests at every port visited. Not ideal I think. Food is all quite bland In complementary restaurants. There are several pay to eat restaurants with high ...

Viking is known for its impeccable quality in cruises ; they did not disappoint ! Service, food, ship, all excellent. The stateroom was nicely appointed and serviced twice a day. Our room steward was extremely attentive. The bed was firm but comfortable. Dining was very good. Several restaurants to choose from. The world cafe buffet was a bit crowded several nights , but we managed and the ...

While on the boat and in the room all is wonderful. Food is fantastic and service wonderful. Purchasing the silver alcohol upgrade isn’t really valuable because half of the waiter/bar staff don’t seem to understand it and even charged me for upgrades beyond having paid for silver . The extensions of front and back as well as the flights picked by Viking are not just poor they are outright bad. We ...

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Celebrity Infinity

We chose infinity after traveling on solstice and we're very impressed. Sadly the infinity is no where near the same class. It is shabby and much of the decks are rusty. The food in main dining room can only be described as school dinner type food. Very little choice and basic . The entertainment in bars is again very basic with little audience engagement. The staff work very hard but ...

Crowded Public Areas, Lifts, Buffet and Entertainment - Shops Not So Crowded

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Iona

We took a mid section balcony on Deck 12 and apart from the really hard pillows, the cabin was well equipped but tight for space. There is a large selection of videos available on the tv, some repeated in the 3 small cinemas. We have sailed at least 7 times previously with P & O, and this was our second time on Iona. This time we found the Main Dining Room staff to be mostly noticeably ...

I've worked on cruise ships a few years ago but this was our first experience cruising as passengers. Good Stuff: 1. Embarkation was straightforward 2. Modern clean ship. 3. Cabin well proportioned and appointed 4. Cabin steward was really nice and always did a great job looking after us. 5. Guest singer in the Carouselle lounge was excellent - I'd look for her again when doing ...
