We are avid travellers and have been on numerous cruises including many with Oceania.
Here's an overview of our most recent cruise with Oceania on the ship Regatta.
The food is very good when it comes to your table hot. There were a few times in the dining room when the food was luke warm and we were served food on plates and bowls that were chipped or damaged. The buffet food is hit or ...
My husband and I sailed on what we call "the cruise to nowhere", being the 19 March 2024 Brilliance of the Seas "11 day "cruise to the South Pacific from Sydney, Australia
The cruise was meant to head to Lifou, Noumea, Mystery Island, Port Vila and Luganville for 11 days. In the end we only (just) got to Lifou - the other ports were cancelled and the cruise was cut short from 11 days to 8 days ...
A very mixed experience. Our first Scenic cruise but we have been on more than a hundred cruises from the large ship to luxury and expedition cruises.
The Scenic prior to cruise experience was unusual, sometime after booking Scenic sent an online medical questionnaire to be completed by your doctor which I did not wish to ask my doctor to do, on pushing back with Scenic, they seemed okay with ...
Cruise from Tahiti to Fiji March 31 to April 12
Staff was over the top best we have ever had on a cruise ship, including Housekeeping and Butler.
Food was mediocre at best , canned fruit other than the basic apples and oranges. From the day we got on the ship in Tahiti they started to run out of basic items on the menu. The buffet was very limited. Chefs table meal was the best we had ever ...
Mixed feeling about Scenic Cruises. We found the crew to be exceptionally nice, helpful, couldn’t do enough for you. But the ship itself is less than luxurious. We had a Grand Deluxe Veranda Suite which was very roomy but the bathroom had no sink, it was a shelf which made it impossible to properly wash and clean teeth. This was the number one thing that spoilt the cruise. Not really luxury ...
Overall: This was somewhat disappointing cruise that did not live up to the hype.
Embarkation: A breeze. Easiest boarding ever. No lines, knowledgeable people.
Cabin: We had a B-1 veranda stateroom. The room itself was fine. Flat screen TV, although not much to watch. (You could watch “Titanic” if ship disaster movies are your thing.) Adequate underbed storage for our soft-sided ...
The good:
We lucked out with the calmest seas in Feb cyclone season.
RC shore visits in Noumea, Mystery and Port Vila. Expensive but well run.
The insanely blue water of Mystery island.
The beauty of New Caledonia and Vanuatu itself.
Staring at the ocean ( an ocean view is a MUST!! )
Realising just how BIG the ocean really is.
Well appointed and liveable room.
Gym ...
What a hoot.................but only for 5 days. couldn't repeat the shows (btw don't ask us to write a plot summary of any of the shows - lol). very inflexible with any food tweaks even though they ask before every meal if you have any food allergies. asked for a simple salad or a bowl of veggies some nights or to adjust the cream content of a rich meal and the answer was always a no no no!!! ...
I had a great time on this cruise, I was a solo traveller and everyone was really nice and friendly. I'd recommend the solo traveller meet up held on the first few nights.
A few things I noticed tho.
The Evian water package that cost me AUD$40 (pre cruise discount) turned out to be cheap supermarket water that would cost AUD$10, see pic. There weren't water fountains to fill up water ...
This was my seventh cruise with Royal Caribbean (Second on Quantum) and I have cruised with three other lines so I could claim to be a seasoned cruiser to a degree.
First the good:
Great friendly cabin and waiter staff (with one exception). Junell and Eugene in the main dining room were excellent while supervisor Rolston was very competent. Edgar looked after our room very ...
