The XL Sea Terrace is a brilliant design

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Resilient Lady

I am very, very thrilled that the bathroom configuration of the XL Sea Terrace is like that of a hotel room. The cabin is also large (very big indeed for a solo traveller). Finally, a hotel room on a cruise ship! I am too lazy to make bookings for restaurants; but apparently if you don't book before you sail, the few restaurants that require booking are filled up already. I only managed to get ...

Great, but not what we expected.

Overall, this was a really good cruise. The ship is clean and new, staff friendly and cabin welcoming. My main concern was the specialty dining … most options on the menu weren’t what I would consider appetising. In many instances, there was only one item on each section (starters, mains, etc) that I was able to actually think sounded ‘yummy’. The exception was Pink Agave, what a great meal!! We ...

Awful ship. Awful experience

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Carnival Luminosa

We have cruised other Carnival ships, but nothing as bad as this. Toilet stopped working for several days. Public areas smelled of sewerage. My GoPro was stolen, and when I reported it security stripped our room (mind you this was around midnight as well). My wife broke her finger on a shore excursion, and we caught both COVID and Influenza A. Our last meal in cabin isolation was a single piece ...

Wonderful Cruise!

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Koningsdam

This 35 day Hawaii/French Polynesia cruise was our longest ever and our 19th cruise overall on many different lines (Carnival, Celebrity, Cunard, NCL, Princess and Royal Caribbean). We flew from Ontario to San Diego 3 days before the cruise and stayed at the Old Town Inn which was a great location to tour the city. We walked to historic Old Town and took the trolly tour to all the popular ...

Mixed Feelings on our First HAL cruise

Warning, if you are one of the “IheartHAL” clan and constantly excusing any service issues to protect your diminishing loyalty benefits , please don't read on. You wont like it! Like to share a recent experience on HAL Koningsdam. For balance we are in our early sixties, well travelled and cruised ( 30 plus sailings) but first time on HAL. We wanted to visit South Pacific and unlike most ...

Cruise great! Shows horrible!

This was a fantastic 35 day cruise. Everything was not perfect but nothing in life ever is. We flew into San Diego a day early and stayed at the Wyndham Bayside hotel that is right across the street from the pier. The next morning we went right across the street to board the cruise. They were calling 4 and 5 star mariners first. Since we were 4 star we went right in. We had to wait ...

Nice ship however, App & Booking issues

This was our first Cruise with Virgin. We booked 40 days out and straight away I had problems scanning my passport into the app to complete the check in. It accepted then rejected it. Because of this I did not realise that We could book restaurants from the 40 day mark. This was critical as we were unable to book 2 restaurants and the shows for 3 nights once on board. The vessel on this sailing ...

Our friends kindly invited us to join them on this cruise and we did enjoy it. We loved the show Persephone and was different to any other cruise line. I loved the hammock on the verandah so soothing. The Wake restaurant was also excellent. The Korean restaurant was not great - food not great and service was poor. In one restaurant I asked for some vegetables and they didn't have any.. was ...

Honest Opinion Cruise to Noumea & Vanauatu

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Quantum of the Seas

Chose this cruise to enjoy with first time cruising friends. Balcony room (4D) cabin port side aft. Extras Paid for 1, Wifi package 7 days. Was good enough and dropped out now and then. Should be free. 2, Drinks package. Recommended as drinks could have got costly. Sometimes staff seem to be on a go slow instruction and avoid eye contact and take a long time to serve. 3, Noumea - ...

A fantastic trip - entertainment and food is out of this world. Don't come on expecting a quiet trip, but it is what you make of it. The gym, classes and walking track are great. Make sure you book into gym classes and dining the minute you are able to. Our stop over in Burnie for the day was also a great add on and the locals are divine. Dining - Pink Agave dinner was the highlight followed by ...
