I found the round trip disappointing. The first 4 days (Punta Arenas to Ushuaia) are beautiful because of the route. The second part (Ushuaia-Punta Arenas), two days at anker in a bay and almost a full night cruising the channel in front of Ushuaia.
The crew of the ship is really good, especially the ones that take care of the rooms and the bar. The restaurant staff is over the top in ...
We booked the premium suite and every material item on the cruise ship is nice. Fixtures are well appointed, bed is wide and comfortable, service is top notch and excellent, expedition guides are super knowledgeable and friendly.
So why the poor review?
1) The Captain made the decision to cut the last day of expedition and return to port early despite claiming rough seas except the day we ...
We were not able to visit or land in many of the planned destinations because of the Avian Flu, which was not mentioned at all until the trip was booked and paid for.
We only spent 2 days at the peninsula which is truly disappointing considering most days are spent at sea and the peninsula being the main event. The staff explained how more days at the peninsula is physically impossible due to ...
Having cruised on Norwegian before the pandemic, I believe Norwegian is suffering from post pandemic syndrome and is using the pandemic to reduce services and quality.
My specific problems were:
1. The itinerary followed was not what I paid for. The three days cruising Antarctica were reduced to one while the weather was glorious.
2. Sanitation standards were low. I contracted Covid ...
This isn't your ordinary kick back by the pool in the sunshine and be pampered cruise itinerary. It goes to ANTARCTICA! For many on the ship who are frequent travelers, this was the final destination, the SEVENTH continent to visit. The destination is unique. The itinerary is grueling: it crosses The Drake Passage- where the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans converge. Some days, it's a "lake". ...
This captain skips ports. What else can be said about a cruise billed as a voyage to Antarctica and the Falklands Islands but skips the Falklands and cuts out a day in Antarctica. I'm sure most people lined up to pay $$$ to see eight days in a row of the South Atlantic. No? Probably not. I hear there's a line forming onboard to join a class action lawsuit organized by some of the passengers. Rude ...
Booked this 15 day Antarctic Bridge cruise. Chose to go in style and booked the Grand Suite - not cheap.
Had problems from the start of the cruise - took us two extra days due to apparent weather to get to Antartica so we missed 2 days on the ship. one couple was on their third attempt to do this cruise - cancelled 2x before. After we disembarked the ship was also delayed for 1 day before ...
Long-time RCL cruisers. First AND LAST time we let them choose our room (we were just going along with our group).
I should have known as soon as I opened the first drawer on the chipped dresser and the front of it fell off! Had to pound it back together.
Our veranda was a rusty mess! In need of paint but not on the floor and table that was splattered with old paint. We had soot rain down ...
My 2nd ever cruise and first on a so-called Prestige Line ship.
Voyager as a ship was tired and clearly in need of refurbishment. TV swung from side to side even on a moderate swell giving sleepless nights. Balcony door wouldn't lock. The so-called exclusive toiliteries (shampoo and soap) were of a quality found in cheap motels forcing us to buy from the Spa Shop.
The staff servicing the ...
We had taken Viking's Mekong Delta cruise and had a great time so we booked the South American Cruise expecting a similar experience. While the ship was beautiful our cruise experience was sadly disappointing.
The ship could not dock at two of 8 ports of call due to weather. This was not their fault but Viking made no effort to make up for it (on board credits, additional on board ...
