This was our 6th cruise with Norwegian out of a total of 22 cruises. We chose this cruise mainly for the passage of the suez canal.
On the first day no welcome talk from the captain. Next days just a few times the weather forcast and position of the ship. (not every day!). Also the last day not a word of thanks. Have never seen the captain nor staff captain. They seem to forget that they are ...
Great experience on the NCL Jade, so we thought we’d try this one.
The Positives - The rooms are fantastic, best standard room I’ve been stayed in. The bathrooms are spacious and very nice. Embarkation was also top notch.
Staff - They are trying very hard, there are just either not enough of them or they are unprepared to handle the number of passengers (referring to dinning and ...
Silversea has been blindly focused on cutting costs and this has severely impacted the quality of its offerings. This cost cutting has shown up it two areas. The first is the ship was grossly understaffed and the staff that were there were undertrained, inexperienced, and often not qualified for the positions they held. The wait staff, who were there, to the most part, did an outstanding job. ...
Just completed Barcelona to Abu Dhabi - 20 days on the refurbished Nautica.
The refurb is outstanding!
Better food in the Grand Dining Room. Portions are much better/lighter.
Speciality venues are excellent.
Butler was Superb!
Excursions were very good and the overnight in Luxor was outstanding.
I am baffled by the other reviews in that this was one of the best cruises we have ...
Background
We mostly cruise with Viking, Tauck, and with others, but three years ago we saw this itinerary and we couldn't wait - and then we waited three years. We are also introverts, so there are things Oceania offers that are simply not relevant to us - the bar scene, the entertainment, the casino, the sea day activities. We spend a little more for a larger room where we can happily hang ...
We signed up for this cruise in 2020. We hoped by end of Oct. 2022 things with Covid would have settled down. Since this was to be our 6th Regent cruise, 2nd on Explorer, we believed the tours would be very good and safe. We believed we needed to be careful in many parts or the world now. Especially since we are in our seventies and walk a bit slower. We believed Regen would take good care of us ...
We travelled From Piraeus - Dubai on Azamara Quest, from Oct 29 - Nov 15.
We boarded the Azamara Quest in Piraeus (Athens) and after we finally got onboard, we started to have a great time.
There was a delay of nearly 2hrs to board the ship, due to only 1 customs agent working at the Port.
We went straight to our safety demonstration once onboard, then off to the cabin , we were greeted ...
Herd Viking was the best for an educational experience in comfort. Well it's true. Vicking took care of everything. The historian guide was with us everywhere. Giving us knowledge so interesting I couldn't believe it. Sherry is the best. The Osirus is as billed. Absolutely beautiful and roomy in Scandinavian style. Accommodations were outstanding. Guest to crew ratio made this trip extremely ...
The overall trip was fabulous. We had never taken a Viking River cruise before but we had heard good feedback from people we know that had done river cruises with Viking before. The entire trip was well choreographed, starting with the arrival at the Cairo airport. The Program Director (Hany) was excellent and we felt very lucky to have had his guidance and expertise on the entire tour. He was ...
The places visited were spectacular and the sites and scenes along the Nile were almost magical, however the itinerary of getting to and from these places was somewhat cumbersome. There were a total of 6 plane rides including the Abu Simbel option. I believe this is just the nature of the beast one has to go through in order to see these sites. The only negative I would place on the itinerary is ...
