We chose this cruise first of all because of the ship and also because of departure from Los Angeles. We have cruised Royal Caribbean and Carnival in the past and enjoyed both, but wanted to try a different line. We thought NCL might be our new choice after looking at the Bliss and it's amenities. We will go back to our previous cruise lines in the future, but here are pros and cons:
Pros: The ...
I went on Oosterdam 2019 and had a fun trip but unfortunately the Zaandam did not come close. The ship was full of walkers and disabled vehicles, the ship was dirty and food mediocre. The ocean deck pool was empty and closed for the first 3 days, entertainment was awful and the ship VERY boring. I opted for an ocean view that was stuffy and very dated and had not been updated since ship was made. ...
First off I must say the crew was wonderful. The finest ever and very nice.
We had sailed on Celebrity many times before Covid and really liked it. I especially remembered the warm welcome as they handed us a glass of champagne….but that was several years ago. Not anymore!
Embarkation was a mess. Very confusing. You had to drop your luggage off at the ship, then go to a different parking lot ...
Close by, my birthday and value was the reason for choosing this cruise to Cabo.
We have enjoyed this class of ship and Celebrity in general before- pre covid.Times have changed - the food was just terrible. It didn't make any difference where or when you ate, it was all the same problem.
Bottom line, it is clear they have cut the food budget. Think they were getting complaints at sea on ...
We chose this trip as it was billed as 'active' and showed much promise. Wow were we disappointed.
First off be aware that NatGeo cruises are expensive. Very. So hey attract a primarily elderly clientele. I'm in my sixties and was one of the youngest passengers. As a result the movement of people is slow. Painfully slow. Getting on and off zodiacs and shore is a real chore.
This was ...
I went on this ship because it was the Star Trek cruise. I had been disappointed by the last 2 RCL cruises since COVID and this was about the same. I fear the next cruise I have scheduled in September on the Serenade of the Seas. If it wasn't with four other people in the family I would cancel it.
First let me say that the Star Trek part of the cruise rocked! I won't get into it here but I ...
Chose this ship for the itinerary. Big mistake. Dated in all ways.So lacking in accessible features I can't believe it's ADA compliant. They are carrying wheelchair guests off the ship by hand. In the tiny casino you may earn enough points to qualify for free drinks while playing. But....
Good luck finding a server. Few activities on seadays. You are expected to amuse yourself.
Entertainment ...
We chose this cruise because the timing was perfect and were excited about boarding a fairly new ship. This was an 80s themed cruise. They did have a couple of 80s cover bands, we attended Journey and Bon Jovi. Both shows were pretty good. The DJ in the Vista Lounge played quite a few 80s hits as well. We were in a mini-suite and the room itself was very nice.
The service, food, and medallion ...
A cruise where you cannot sit outside on a deck and relax is not a cruise. The loud music that was incessantly played by the pool pervaded every area of the deck. No one seemed to enjoy the music except maybe the crew. It was this weird techno rap with an annoying beat. You could not escape it as it was turned up to the max. The only reprieve was port days. The second we stopped in mazatlan we ...
We were on a 15 night cruise to Hawaii on the Royal Princess from February 10th to the 25th. My wife and I are both in our 70’s and Princess has always been one of our favorite cruise lines. Sadly, the food on Princess has markedly declined and since food is a big part of cruising for us, we will consider other cruise lines before we choose Princess again. It is like saying goodbye to an old ...
