This was my first cruise and it was great! So much food! Sometimes the food wasn't that hot as I thought it would be, but it still tasted good. There was so much to do! I wish the Go Karts and Laser Tag didn't cost as much. But both water slides were fun!! The pools were little disappointing. They were very small and there's 4,000 guests. Still too small even if 2,000 guests wanted to be at the pool . There was a lot of places to lay out in sun, but you couldn't really get into the pool because all these people were there. We decided to just go to the adult area of 18+ and it was nice. At least there was a water feature to cool off under. The hot tubs were nice too. The other activities and music were fun. I loved Jersey Boys and seeing Comedy shows. I didn't like that the casino smelt the cigarettes. Was there smoking allowed in the closed off part of the casino? Read Less

This was my 7 cruise and I must say it was the best. The service was outstanding the food was equal to any 5 star restaurant if not better. Our cabin was a inside but we managed to have 23 people join us for a quick shot to celebrate Halloween, it was quite a snuggling experience. The entertainment on board reminded me of my days in Vegas I could see them again and hope to soon. Even though I can rave about all that I was just slightly disappointed in the shore excursion but i know it was the people on the other end who in charge not the staff of Norwegian. I still am excited to travel on the Bliss again, it is a big ship and lots of walking but that helps with all the good food, keeps you trim .I will be booking this cruise line again this spring, hope to see you on Norwegian soon. I've been on all the Breakaway Class ships except Joy and Bliss. I finally got a chance to try Bliss and WOW. This ship is beautiful. NCL addressed the two common issues on past ships and fixed it on this one. They enclosed the smoking section of the casino. Brilliant idea. Another move was they put the restaurants at both ends of the ship. It's somewhat hard to find but eased the overcrowding on the middle of the ship. I hope they keep the same layout on their smaller Leonardo ships. Good job on the changes on Bliss..... which I heard is the same on Joy and Encore. Booked the Encore for next year already. The only negative I can say was the pricing on Food Republic. Way too expensive. All the others including Margaritaville was OK and pricing was Average and probably subsidized by the high cruise fare. Food Republic wasn't. For example, sushi on Wasabi on Breakaway was $5-6 but $12-16 on Food Republic Read Less

This was our second time on the Bliss. We were in the Haven. It was fantastic the Haven restaurant food was to die for. The hostess Arlene was the best. She is an excellent employee. She remembered everyones name and visited with us made us feel like family. we ate at the Le Bistro the food is outstanding. I had the escargot and mushroom soup as starters. Both were delicious They have the best cream of mushroom soup. I have ever had. filet for entrees. Excellent flavour by far the best of the speciality restaurant on the ship. cagney’s was a Big disappointment. The service was awful and food was mediocre. They cram you in to little space. The Q was pretty good bbq. We paid ala cart. Same with Los Lobos. We like this ship so much we booked the ship for the 16 day Panama Canal cruise. Traveled with 8 other adults from San Diego. Parked in the San Pedro lot ($19/day) for a 10 am check-in, which was quick since fewer people there due to the early time. Not too long a wait until they started boarding. We immediately went for lunch at the Local for chicken wings, burgers, salads, etc. Great start, food-wise. Dropped off our carry-on bags in our cabins and explored the ship. Disappointed they don't have a viewing deck facing the bow of the ship for us non-Haven folks, as that's where we normally like to be when the ship heads out of port. The cruise starts with 2 sea days, so we got to know the ship activities pretty well. The gym on this ship is small (compared to RCCL, for example), and was packed by 8 am each day. So better to do work-outs in the afternoon. At least the equipment is new. The race track is fun, but you have to make reservations, which is not a very smooth system. It took almost an hour to make 3 different reservations, because the person entering them kept screwing them up. Don't know if it was a language barrier, or a problem with their reservation system, but she kept deleting or adding people to the wrong dates/times. My friend dealing with her complained at guest services, and they took off his three $15 charges for the racing. While fun, the track takes up A LOT of space on the ship. They had to remove many of the activities found on other ships (rock climbing wall, basketball court, ropes course, etc.) to put the track in there. The mini-golf was shrunk down to a 4 hole afterthought behind the race track. Not once did we see anyone doing the laser tag, and we never saw that it was even open. The pool slides were fun, particularly the inner tube one. The drop slide seems to have a design flaw. Just after the initial drop, there is a steep incline to slow you down. A large percentage of people, particularly lighter women and heavier folks (especially if wearing a shirt) don't make it up the incline and drop back down in reverse, where a crew member has to let your out of an escape hatch. The casino slot machines were tight as usual, and it's nice that they have a separate, enclosed smoking section. The Jersey Boys show was great - just like the Broadway musical, with just as talented singers. The two leads could really sing! Bingo was fun, but $49 was their cheapest package to play. It was Halloween during our cruse, and a surprisingly large number of cruisers dressed up in costumes. There was a party at 10:30 pm in Spice H2O at the back of the boat that was packed. We did the 10:30 Spice H2O party a couple of times, which was fun. The silent disco was also amusing, especially when you take off your headphones and see people dancing without music, and singing to songs you can't hear. There were 4 different zones playing different music, adding to the entertainment factor. If you don't like the noise of the pool deck, there are plenty of places for quiet, particularly the Observation lounge on deck 15, which wraps around the whole front of the ship. Many couches and loungers, snack counters, a bar, and a piano player at night which can only be heard closer to the front of the lounge. Deck 7 has the Waterfront that wraps around almost the entire ship, and is lined with couches, chairs, and tables. It's designated as a quiet space and is a great place to sit, read, eat, nap, or have quiet conversations, either in sun or shade. Taste, Savor, and the Manhattan Room are the complementary dining rooms, and had good, changing selections each night. The NY Strip steak (available every night) was surprisingly good. I found the Caesar salad dressing bland. I noticed they've reduced the portion size (a good thing) of their appetizers, since many people get more than one and end up wasting food. Desserts were surprisingly good as well. We also at at Le Bistro, Food Republic, and Los Lobos specialty dining. Le Bistro was fabulous as usual. Service was outstanding and the food was on point. Food Republic was our second favorite, with good sushi and Asian-fusion options. Los Lobos had some good dishes (eg, fresh guacamole, and the elote corn), but being from San Diego, we had a high bar for them to make good Mexican food, and they didn't meet it. Not that it was bad, we just had much better back home. Ports: We went zip lining in Puerto Vallarta. Book through Viator - only $40 for 10 lines, but there was a lot of climbing up steep hills to get from line to line. Just a 5-10 minute walk to the pick-up point from the ship at 10:30 am, and we were back at the ship by 2:30 pm, well before the 4:30 all-aboard time. In Mazatlan we took Ubers ($4!) to Los Arcos restaurant for seafood lunch. It was highly recommended by friends, and they were right. Don't miss the grilled shrimp and the mixed seafood ceviche. In Cabo San Lucas, we had to use tenders to get to port, and we just walked over to Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo Cantina for lunch. Short shore leave, as it was a 2:30 all-aboard time. It was pretty hot in all 3 ports, and shopping was the same stuff. If you've ever done the Western Caribbean, you know what I mean. Not once did any of us use Mexican pesos. USD are widely accepted, as are credit cards, which get a better exchange rate. Overall, it was a fun cruise, and a good learning experience to our friends who have never cruised before. Service was top notch as almost all the crew were helpful, friendly, and attentive. Being from SoCal, it was a great value since we didn't have to pay for airfare or the usual overnight stay in a hotel the night before. Read Less

Was told how others had enjoyed the cruise and on board experiences. The staff was outstanding, the dining experience was outstanding along with the menu and excellent food. Enjoyed the entertainment especially in the princess theatre. Music was very good. I was in a wheelchair and everyone was gracious and very accommodating. Would not hesitate to travel alone even being 75 years of age and handicapped. Went on the excursion Swimming with the Dolphins. Enjoyed the experience very much. The staff helped me with my physical challenges. The steward for the cabin was excellent and took care of all our needs. Was terrific to wake up in the morning and able to look out on the balcony and enjoyed the motion of the ship. Would like to see something done with the elevators, as the congestion is horrible. We wanted to try a cruise aboard once of Princess's Mega Ships. Having cruised on Princess for over 20 years, We have sailed on most of their Grand Class and smaller ships. Royal Princess did not disappoint. Beautiful, ship with a great crew, many entertainment choices and a fun Cruise Director. Some Positives: Great Princess beds, Medallion Class Crusing , Buffet and Pastry Shop on Deck 16 vastly improves the buffet experience. Alfredo"s Pizza. Many entertainment choices. Great crew and service. Mariachi group, cruise director Matt O. Halloween celebration and decorations. Some negatives: No walkable prominade deck on deck 7, there is a walking track on deck 18 but most evening after dinner too windy up there. Tiney, tiny balcony almost a JOKE. Smoke in the casino. Food: I know food is subjective but we have seem the food quality go down hill over the last few years. The specialty dining (with an upcharge) was good. The buffet was vastly improved. The main dining room menu was great on paper but sometimes it was just so-so on the plate. We usually don't send food back but this time it happened two (don't worry we found other enters to substitute). I would rate the MDR on the level of a chain dinning on land. Not sure if we will choose a Royal Class ship in the future or return to a Grand Class ship but we always have a great time on our cruises because we make it our own! Read Less

I am a Latitudes member and like the "freestyle" approach. There is something for everyone to do. You can be active -- or not. You can be entertained -- or not. You can go to many different food venues -- or consistently go to your favorite restaurant. The choice is always yours. We are in our "seventies" and still continue to enjoy cruising. We stayed busy all day on this cruise. Never bored -- not even for one minute. The service is great. They handled 4,500 passengers as if it were only 450 passengers. No long lines or inconveniences. It had been a long time since we were in LA so we decided to spend a few days and enjoy some sights. That was a great idea and I am glad we did it. The port in Mexico were new to us and quite beautiful.. We did a little shopping, toured a little and enjoyed some tequila! I cannot say enough about the fabulous entertainment. We had seen Jersey Boys in the theater and I can say that NCL's show was just as good if not better! They also added a show called SIX about the wives of Henry the Eighth. Wow, wow Wow!!! this will be a broadway hit when it comes out. The Beatles show was a great stroll down memory lane and the comedians kept us entertained for several nights! Read Less

We choose this cruise because of the ship, especially because of the newly designed Haven and it did not disappoint us. Overall there was a lot to do and many places to go, we didn't have a change to experience all, as there were so many things to do. The Waterfront is a great concept, we had dinner outside in Los Lobos and the food, ambiance and service were excellent, try the table-side guacamole! The avocado ice cream was not a favorite of us, but everything else was delicious. Also had drinks on the Mojito bar outside several times. The breakfast foods in the buffet were good selection, but we felt that hot foods were not hot at all, by the time you would get to your table the food would be cold. The Haven court yard, sundeck, lounge and restaurant were excellent with top of the line service and food, the fillet mignon in the Heaven restaurant was better than in Gagney's. The personnel in Haven would greet you by your name and remember your preferences, I have a gluten intolerance and it was always addressed properly, they would provide gluten freed bread and adjust dishes to be gluten free. Our Concierge Hanno and our butler were super attentive and took care of everything from room service deliveries, Racetrack reservations to shore excursions. Casino was also nice with good selection of slots, wished there would have been more Video poker game variations. VP machines had a decent pay tables for a cruise line. Read Less

It's a great cruise line for you to enjoy the cruise and relax. No formal night, anytime dining to make things more easier and feel more relaxed like real vacation. Great ship, great port of calls, give two thumbs up. Food and specialty restaurants were excellent, I love that Cageny steakhouse. Roast prime rib were delicious. Observation lounge was tremendous huge area and classy. You'll feel like and upper class person when you step in and it's not crowded as upper stair buffet. Great area for you to relax or reading, or simply doing nothing but enjoying the infinity sky line or each port of calls. And good thing about this ship is that they have ocean front deck. You may walk around or dining there for different experiences. By the way, perfect on board Activities. I love to ride the kit car and it's different feeling when you race on ship instead on land. I will definitely cruise again with NCL in the future and recommend it to friends and relatives Read Less

I have never cruised before nor had a ever wanted to. My friends talked me into it and I am beyond happy they did!!! Can’t wait for my next one. We chose The Bliss and I was blown away with this ship. From the minute we stepped aboard to the sad moment we disembark was the best holiday I have EVER had. I brought all the things for getting sea sick, gravel, bracelets etc. Never used a thing!!! You didn’t feel like you were moving at all, sometimes you forgot you were on the ship. Wow what an experience!! The fun at the pool, always something happening, games or a band, so much fun. Delicious food and such a variety. Cagney was my favourite!!! We had a balcony stateroom and I would sit out there and watch the beautiful sunrise and sunsets. The entertainment was unbelievable, we saw the Jersey boys, a Beatles cover band and three comedians. FABULOUS!! The three ports we went to were amazing, I liked Cabo the best. When I told people this was my first cruise they all said the same thing, you have set the bar high on this cruise, you will never see entertainment like this on any other cruise. Oh well guess I better stick with Norwegain then. Thank you to all the crew on the Bliss, you all were amazing. Thank you to the booking staff as well, you too were amazing and so helpful. I was amazed that the size of the ship and the number of people on board did NOT make my husband and I feel crowded. The reservation app was genius - no waiting in line at the main dining rooms any more! And reserving for shows was a great idea - made the seating and the theater capacity work together well. The food was impeccable (with a few misses but not many). Loved the buffet options, especially the Indian Food! Very Important : The coffee on this cruise in the buffet and in restaurants was EXCELLENT!!! Great improvement since our last cruise. Downside? Pool seemed crowded, but there were plenty of chairs. Casino - table wagers started at a minimum of 10$ .. too pricy! The tables would have been consistently full if the wagers were dropped to a reasonable level.(5$) Teppanyaki seems to have gotten to be a bit of a frenetic "show" - and too noisy. Chefs standing with their backs to each other had to be loud and seemed to copy each other's banter. (I expect they might have to somewhat, since they do so many dinners) The food was still excellent. The theater shows blew us away, especially "Six". I like the idea of a Broadway style show vs a variety show. Much more compelling and engaging. Comedians were mostly spot on... We were laughing like crazy (with one or two misfires). Cruise staff was excellent! All around. Kudos to Norwegian for exceeding our expectations for this cruise. Read Less

We have taken river cruises but never an ocean cruise. We traveled with a group and this was the ship the travel agent booked. Because we booked last year our cruise allowed us to choose from three free amenities. We chose the Unlimited Drink Package (which DOES NOT include bottled water) and the Gratuity Package, both saving us a lot of money. Everything went smoothly from the minute we stepped foot onboard to the minute we disembarked. The ship itself was spectacular - every detail we could imagine was taken into account. Our mid ship balcony suite was a great size. The bathroom was remarkably roomy; we had plenty of closet space and the bed was extremely comfortable. We loved sitting on our balcony to enjoy our morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. We purchased a 3-meal specialty restaurant package which turned out to be a great value*. We enjoyed all of the other restaurants onboard and the entertainment provided was first class. We had a wonderful experience with bartenders, cleaning crews and servers - everyone seemed happy and were very accommodating. If we travel again we would book an "adults only" cruise as we had some very noisy neighbors with smaller children that did a lot of crying and stomping around late at night. Other than that this was a very positive experience and we would recommend to everyone. *except Cagney's: Food wasn't great and the service was painfully slow Read Less

Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. Service from all staff was excellent. There was crowd of mixed ages. From the reviews I read about everyone on this cruise line being more of an older crowd I would say 50/50. This worked to our advantage because the gym was almost empty and the pool was uncrowded and the rest of the ship seemed empty because I think the majority was playing bingo or bridge! The under 50 crowd partied at BB Kings or the bars every night. The band that played at BB Kings was the best entertainment I have ever heard on a cruise ship, they were amazing and so much fun. We went there every night. The dance show was also good but the rest of the shows were typical cruise venue type shows. The food was ok, but the Pinnacle and Tamarind were really good. We really were impressed with Holland, as we usually cruise Azamara and have been on Crystal. I found Crystal to have an older crowd too. The enrichment activities are geared for older crowd and found them to be uninteresting however I really could care less. Read Less

This brief cruise to Cabo San Lucas and back appealed to my wife and me as we have reservations to sail aboard in December. We will be taking a family cruise with kids and grand kids on the Royal over New Year’s this year. We have sailed on six other princess ships and this was the largest. I will admit we were a little concerned because of her size and 3000 person capacity. However we found crowding was seldom an issue and there are some improvements over other ships that really make sailing on her fun. Embarkation from San Pedro is from the old terminal. Very crowed there, but lines kept moving. The ship is too long to dock at the new terminal and even backs out of the harbor to the breakwater before turning around. The check in involved a lot of walking in the cavernous structure. We were given medallions even though we did not complete the medallion registration before the cruise. Our room was to the all the way aft on deck 11, Baja, the last balcony before the suites, close to the aft elevator which runs up to the Horizon Court on deck 16. It is straight down to deck 7 where an outside sitting area is. There is no outside Promenade deck running the lengths of the ship. There are two sitting areas on each side of ship. The ride was exceptionally smooth. Everything worked and was in good shape. The beds are especially comfortable. We had a neighbor several cabins down that tried to hang an article of clothing on a hanger to dry by sticking it in the fire system nozzle on the ceiling. The glass rod sensor in the nozzle broke and the whole room had to be redone, carpet included. Ship staff did it in a day. We were very impressed by the efficiency of the staff. The biggest plus was the Horizon Court Buffet. Unlike other Princess buffets, with one way in and at times overcrowded, this design uses four separate serving lines separated by about 20.’ Each line is about 50 feet long. And the food is unbelievable. Usually four carving stations with beef, pork, ham, as well as, shrimp prepared multiple ways, cold, cooked, fried, this flavor that flavor and so on. The seating was also not a problem ever at peak times, always seating available. There was even a separate room, The Pastry Shop, with multiple deserts. This design is a winner. We also ate at Crown Grill which with excellent service, food and wine. Alfredo’s Pizza is on this ship on deck 6 and has an expanded menu which includes antipasto salads and calzones. Don’t forget you can have what you want on board, so I ordered a double pepperoni…mmmm good. In the past we liked dinner at Sabatini’s, but on our last two ships they did not offer Lobster Three Ways. On the Royal it’s back on the menu. Although we did not eat there, we will in December. Princess should keep this item on all their Sabatini menus. The casino seemed a little crowded, but not bad. We found a couple of friendly slots, hit many bonuses, and left with only a loss of $8 for both of us. We felt like winners. The pool area, usually very crowded on other ships was remarkably spacious. In addition to the usual pool lounges, there is comfortable patio furniture in conversational clusters. We always found a seat there. The glass floored Sea Walk is on both sides of ship on this deck. It extends out over the sea and is a little scary…but not too much. Had pizza one day for lunch. Great as usual. Ordered a double cheese burger for dinner one night and felt like Guy Fieri biting in to it. Very good. Finished with the free ice cream on way to room. The large atrium is a very positive improvement. Twice the usual size, more seating and decorated in a very dazzling manner. We watched the paper airplane contest there. Very nice. There were just over 300 kids on this cruise. I have to say we observed them in the pool area, buffet, atrium, etc. All were well behaved and looked excited to be on the ship. The buffet had a small kids offering of mac and cheese, pigs in a blanket, PB+J and baloney sandwiches. The Medallion system was a mystery to us before this cruise, but we are sold. Wear it on a lanyard, put it in your pocket or wear it as a watch. As you approach your stateroom, the screen by the door welcomes you, shows your picture and unlocks the door for you. When visiting a bar, your icon is on an IPad, and confirming your stateroom number, the staff just touches icon. Transaction done. Same in the stores, photo department, and if you order drinks in a dining room. There were folks with cell phones using the locator feature to tract down kids or friends. The same when going ashore. Just touch it to the reader. There are other features we didn’t explore, but embrace this, it is terrific. By the way, the internet was as fast and easy to get on and off. No problem sending or downloading pictures. We went ashore in Cabo each day we were anchored there. The Royal has a new lifeboat design. They are bigger and seating is at the same level as the entrance from the ship. No more stairs down to a hold. The hull has a main keel rather than a catamaran design. There is still roof seating. Cabo was hot and humid since a tropical storm had just departed. We walked all the way to end of water front and enjoyed the stores and a couple margaritas. I didn’t have my picture taken with an iguana this time. Their big marlin Tournament was in progress so there were many fishing boats in the harbor. One complaint is the lack of Port talks. On all previous cruises we always attended, even if it covered a port we visited previously, and learned something every time. People want to know about where they are going. A naturalist talk would have really been nice even though this was a short 5 day cruise; there were two sea days and a couple half sea days. A couple foot health lectures could have been scrapped. Our seas were smooth for the cruise. We had a couple of exceptional sunsets and a great sunrise sky one morning. The last sea day was mostly overcast and a little cool. We did see dolphins several times but no whales. Disembarkation logistics at this older terminal needs to be redesigned. There must be ways to reduce the amount of walking/running people were forced to do. The handicapped, elderly, and folks dragging bags and travel treasures were exhausted by the crush of humanity. The luggage workers were terrific and knew some short cuts. If Princess plans to continue having the bigger ships calling here, they need to negotiate a terminal redesign with the Port Authority. Can’t wait to get aboard again in December. Read Less

4th cruise on NCL. 6th overall. Prior on Sky, Gem and Getaway. Big fans of the Freestyle cruising. Had the beverage package and 3 meals at specialty dining included in the fare. THE GOOD Beautiful stunning new ship with top notch technology. We had 250 min of WIFI and I had little/no issues accessing it. Opted for the texting/calling onboard and it came in handy a few times. Any issues, visit the desk at the internet café in the atrium. Embarkation was super quick. We were supposed to be there between 10-1030a. Ended up arriving closer to 11a. Check in was quick and were given boarding number 19. I think they were at 6 when we sat down. Waited maybe 10-15 min and then they called all people waiting to board. Disembarkation was a bit slower. Our flight was later so we waited towards the end and walked off. There was probably a couple hundred people behind us. It took us probably an hour or so to get thru the line. We overheard many people who missed their flights. I wouldn't book a flight before noon. Kids (9-12) both enjoyed Splash Academy. One time we tried to drop off the 9-year-old and they were full. That surprised me a bit. Cabin was wonderful. We had a mini suite balcony (10234). I haven’t had a week of good sleep like that in a long time. We had 4 people in the room and it was big enough. No noise issues. No issues with motion as opposed to sitting in the Obs Lounge. Cabin steward – Mohammad was great. I enjoyed the conversations I had with him learning about him and his family. For the limited times we were in the cabin, the movies they had running were impressive late runs movies. Kids appreciated that while we got ready or rested. Week’s worth of dining and I think there was only one meal I had that wasn’t very good (Steak on the classic menu in the Manhattan Room). It was edible, just not good. All the other meals were great. We dined at Cagney’s (excellent), Teppyanaki (Moises was great, steak was tender and juicy, server was quick with the drinks, tablemates were fun with the Saki Bombs) and Le Bistro (server was a bit snooty but was that for ambience?). Very happy with meals/service in Taste/Savor. Other memorable plates for me were the Spinach Caesar Salad, Pizza/Egg White and spinach omelet in the buffet, Caprese snack in the Obs Lounge. For breakfast, they had tasty hash browns, but it seemed like they were only available in one place on the buffet. Why is that? Everything else could be found in numerous locations. Side note, the omelet bars are also able to make regular fried eggs (over medium, sunny side up, etc). Daughter loved having Starbucks on board. Soda seemed flat. Loved the District Brewhouse. Found George and found my beer. By the end of the cruise, I would walk in and he knew what I wanted. Observation Lounge was an interesting place. Wonderful place to go and relax and have a drink/light snacks. It felt like a comfortable living room. I personally wouldn’t be comfortable with people eating in my living room. My expectations for Jersey Boys and Six were very low – honestly had no interest in seeing either. I was blown away with both shows. So glad that they replaced Havana with Six. Even my 12-year-old, who I thought would have been bored with Jersey Boys, really got into it. The scene changes were impressive. Well done. If you don’t have any interest in seeing either because “it just isn’t your thing”, please give it a try. I cannot stress this enough. Give it a try. I almost missed out on it because it just didn’t sound appealing. Comedians – Quincy and Flip – were very funny. I appreciated the Carnival jokes. The other guy was unmemorable. Go carts were fun. My 9-year-old was questionable on the height (probably a half inch off the requirement). We tried to push him thru and I regret doing that. He couldn’t control the go cart and was removed from the track. The 12 year enjoyed it but wasn’t overly eager to do it again. Kids enjoyed laser tag – they did it once in the day and once at night. It is an open top venue. I was told it is better at night. Waterslides were fun. The tube one was fun but short. The drop slide was fun but seemed like only 50% of the riders made it over the first loop resulting in longer waits as the had to check both escape hatches. I would call that a design flaw. I don’t remember the drop slides on the Getaway having that issue. The Caliente party was fun. The Cruise Director staff did a great job getting everyone pumped up. One of the staff danced with a little girl (probably 2-3 years old) for a long time. It was a cute interaction. THE BAD Had some stress when we first got on as we needed to reserve go carts/laser tag/shows/restaurants/etc. Sort of went against your Freestyle Cruising concept which we are big fans of. We were able to reserve a few things before the cruise. Seemed like we had to modify or change reservations 2 or 3 times while on the cruise. I had to visit the desk to confirm what I had reserved. Just got a little confusing and complicated. I would be nice if we could just walk up and do these things when we are ready to do them. Ok, if I had to be super picky, I guess I wish I could have had more time in ports. We were cutting it close in Cabo (arriving at the tender boat line like 5 min before 2pm) only to find a massive line. Elevators were always busy so I opted to take the stairs 95% of the time. Good way to burn all the beer and buffet pizza. The ping pong tables on outside of the ship were unplayable due to the winds. The ones on the inside were usable. Bar service at times was slow. I am guessing it is because NCL is giving away more beverage packages. Most attentive service was in the District though. FINAL THOUGHTS On the first day, I witnessed a guy (lets call him Richard, or Dick for short) barking demands at George in the District. “Turn on the Mets Game” George explained they did not have it. “Get me a Harp or Stella” George explained they did not have it and offered an alternative. “Get me the alternative”. It was poured and had some head on it (as beers do). “Scrape the head off”. Unbelievable. The thing that disgusted me the most about this cruise is the way the passengers treated the crew. A simple please, thank you, smile, good morning go a long way. Please keep this in mind when you read reviews. Surely the man that needed his beer scraped is also on here writing. Side note – I saw that man later in a hallway propped up against a wall unable to find his room. Don't be like Dick. Ha. Go and have a wonderful time. Read Less

I really wanted to sail on a larger and newer shape and Bliss did not disappoint. The staff was welcoming and qualified from start to finish. The restaurants, bars and food were amazing. Top notch shows especially Prohibition and Jersey Boys. The race cars were amazing. Did not like the laser tag though. It was glitchy and in my opinion perhaps not operating properly that day as we had to wait 30 minutes for it to "reboot". The ship is elegant, chic and modern with loads of seating and public space. Best restaurants were Los lobos, Ocean Blue and Cagneys imo. Le bistro and La cumins are also constant faves. Food republic was not open as much as i would have liked. It has a vast menu tho. The buffet had wide lanes and easy access. District brew was fun. Room clean and spacious and bathroom was very good size. Overall a great trip and we spent a lot of time in the observation room. Really nice and massive space. Embarkation a breeze. Disembarkation not so much with everyone wanting off at 8AM and wait times exceedeing 45 minutes. Organized well by staff however. Read Less

We have cruised many times with Norwegian and the last two times in the Haven. From the moment you enter the cruise terminal to disembarking from your cruise you receive first class service. The staff took time to find out what we really liked and actually made it available to us daily. From day one our butler, concierge and room steward made us feel right at home, still can't figure out how they remember everyone's name so quickly. The menu options in the Haven restaurant were fabulous. The Horizon lounge with its floor to ceiling window is the perfect place to enjoy a good book or just sit and take in the amazing views. Our room was spacious with a balcony and sitting area. The onboard entertainment was top notch, the Jersey Boy show is one you will not want to miss. We highly enjoyed the two story go cart track and Laser tag was a blast. I can not say enough about this cruise and what a wonder experience we had. We have also been on other cruise lines, Carnival twice and Royal Caribbean once, however, going forward we will always choose Norwegian. Looking forward to our next cruise! Read Less

The food was great. Are room attendant was great. He made sure everything was perfect. Some of the servers on the ship in the bar areas should be a little more willing to help you. We did find one issue. I do not smoke but my husband does. He would have to go all the way across the ship every time he wanted to smoke. I think you should have more smoking areas. I really was sad since it took away a lot of our time together. The food was really good. My husband did have an accident on the shore excursions through the ship. We filled out an accident report but know one ever got in touch with us. An Iguana jumped on him while we were eating lunch after are grand kids swam with the dolphins. The medics came and cleaned the wounds on his leg. I would have thought someone from the cruise line would have been in touch with us. . Read Less

This cruise trip was arranged more than 1 year ago. We had never been to Mexico and we wanted to give it a try on the newest NCL ship, Norwegian Bliss. The gorgeous looking Norwegian Bliss was beyond my imagination. We had a wonderful holiday and had fun exploring the 3 cities which Bliss had brought us to. We also enjoyed dancing at different venues in the evenings. With the specialty dining package, it enabled us to try out different food types and dining atmospheres. The shore excursions to Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas were interesting that they had showed us the culture of Mexico and the beautiful cities. I wished the port stay in Cabo San Lucas could be longer as it’s such a beautiful place. We didn’t get much time to shop at the port area after few hours of shore excursion. The dining venues were busy every night but we didn’t have problem getting seats when walking in to any of the main dining restaurant. As our package included 4 specialty dining, we had booked the dinner way in advance with the help of NCL Australia office. Luckily we did it because on Bliss, most specialty dining venues were fully booked on most of the time slots. The “Jersey Boys” was probably one of the main highlights on the ship that the response was overwhelmed with people queuing up outside the theatre as standby. The “Six” is a new show on the ship but the response was not bad as well. The Guest Services team sent a note to my room to welcome our group and helped us with the dance class arrangement. We are grateful to Cruise Director, Jake for this special arrangement, and the kind assistance from Marina from Guest Services. During the trip, I wrote a feedback regarding the time confusion as the NCL app was showing a different timing from the time we were asked to adjust back. Surprising the relevant staff was able to find me at the dining table that particular night to follow up regarding this. Bliss’ public area consists of many nice details and we felt very comfortable at every corners. My personal favourite place is the brilliant Observation Lounge at Deck 15. I enjoyed the light breakfast and watching sunrise from there. Ladies will definitely feel pampered by the shopping spirit on the ship, especially on port days. It will be great if NCL could broadcast more about the shopping offers in Mexico prior to boarding. Bliss is quite unlike the other NCL ships that it is between premium and the mass, it is just so special and lovely. Read Less

The Norwegian Bliss is one of the lines most recent ships having been put into service in 2018. In the Breakaway Plus category she is always one of the largest ships in the fleet, The activities, cabins, dining options and crew were all fantastic. Been blessed to have been on this ship a total of 42 days in the past year, including a bucket list 15 day Miami to Los Angeles Panama Canal cruise celebrating my sixtieth birthday. The nicest thing about this ship is the design which allows for a very good flow so that you almost never feel crowded except for the muster drill on the first day. The entertainment on board includes a Broadway show (JERSEY BOYS), comedy club, various musical ensembles and a Beatles Cover Band in The Cavern. Drop Water Slides as well as tamer inner tube water slides for the adventurous, as well as Go Karts and Laser Tag. Specialty Dining is superb!!! My favorites Los Lobos, Le Bistro and Ocean Blue, although Teppanyaki and Cagney's Steakhouse are not very far behind. The Thermal Spa is relaxing, spacious and has many soothing amenities like warm tile lounging chairs, thermal pool, steam room, sauna, and Jacuzzi but comes with an up-charge. VIBE Beach Club is also an option in the warm weather and those itineraries, although I've personally seen the prices go from $99, $129, $179 to last week's $209. Serenity comes with a price tag!!! All in All, The BLISS is well worth the additional costs in order to fully appreciate everyone that the ship has to offer. After all, it is a vacation and you should allow yourself the indulgence to pamper yourself Read Less

We chose this cruise because we wanted to try Norwegian, specifically the Haven area. We were not disappointed, The Haven was a wonderful respite from the excitement and crowds of the main areas of the ship. The ship is very well designed, with lots of smaller spaces so you don't always feel like your with 4000 people. We really liked the Observation Lounge on 15, a beautiful space with a nice bar and food served (buffet style) daily. There are two musicals being presented on the ship Jersey Boys and Six, we thoroughly enjoyed them both. We also enjoyed the Beatles tribute band Britain's Finest. Can't really say much about the shore excursions because we only did the bus tour in Puerta Vallarta, Maztatlan was rained out and we did our own thing in Cabo. I have to mention the service on the ship, it was excellent, almost seemed like there was a competition between the employees as to who could be the nicest. We ate in 3 specialty restaurants, Cagney Steakhouse which was very good and if you want to try it you need to make a reservation before you get on the ship. We also tried Ocean Blue which we enjoyed, it was probably our favorite, had a really nice waitress, I'm sorry I can't remember her name. The other was the Italian restaurant, La Cucina also really good. We only ate in the Garde Cafe once, can say it is pretty typical for a cruise ship. We also tried The Local which is complimentary for burgers and fish and chips and it was fine. Since we stayed in the Haven we ate at the Haven Restaurant a few times and it was also very good, liked the specialty restaurants better. But the Haven had a good breakfast and lunch menu as well. Our butler, Maria was extremely nice and around enough that if we needed something she would provide it. We just didn't;t ask her for much. Read Less

The ship was beautifully and tastefully decorated. The cabins were cleaned perfectly. Rose was great at cleaning our rooms multiple times a day. All of the latest technologies with touch screens, key card tap entry to the cabins, and outside activities. The shows "six" and "Jersey boys" were spectacular. So much talent!! A large variety of complementary food was available 24 hours a day in many different places. The only complaint I had, was not being able to bring any type of soda or water, only Pepsi products were available. We are Dr.pepper fans. The photos were nice, expensive as usual. Getting on and off the shop was relatively smooth. The staff was friendly and always helpful. Joy ,a waitress in the Manhattan dining room made the cruise for us. So glad that we tried Norwegian again after the first bad experience. Extremely relaxing week!! We will definitely be back.... Read Less
