NCL Bliss

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

My younger son turns 13 in October 2019 and wanted to go to the Splash Academy one last time before he is "too old" as his birthday gift. So, we booked this cruise when we were on NCL Escape in November 2018. Again, we learned from the same mistake, never booked our cruise too early as NCL will drop their price dramatically as they cannot sell their rooms during the regular periods of the year. ...

Im a cruise lover... been on about 8 cruises and this is my second time on NCL.. last NCL before this one was in 2016 and I could really really really see feel and taste their departure from elegance and comfort to mediocrity... Crowded as all heck!! They had the 3rd and 4th passenger sail free promotion going on and it absolutely packed that ship to the brim. Every show sold out by day two, ...

Celebrating my husbands retirement. Got a great deal through a travel company. Because we got such a great deal it’s easy to focus on the positives for sure. We definitely got off to a rough start though. NCL shuttle from LAX was a nightmare & I felt horrible seeing elderly suffer standing in the heat for so long with enormous herds of people with poor leadership NCL staff. Since the ship is So ...

Norwegian changed Itinerary with one week left with no explanation

I was really disappointed in Norwegian considering they changed the itineray with 1 week left before cruise and offered no explanation. Costa Rico was out replaced by Alcapulco. That mean 4 Mexico Ports. which were almost all the same. No local maps provifded unless you anted to shop luxury brands or diamonds. Last year I went to S America on Celebrity Eclipse and we were provided local ...

We are not first time cruisers but have been cruising for 20 years. Nor are we whiners who expect perfection in every area, so this is an honest account of our experience on the NCL Joy 16 day Panama Canal Cruise: We arrived at the pier in Los Angeles (San Pedro) at around 10:30 and were checked in quickly and escorted to a special area in the building to enjoy snacks, drinks and at around ...

Too big to handle the crowds, long lines and canceled stop

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Joy

Had great experience in Hawaii, much smaller ship but NCL seems to take very good care of customers. The Joy is a newer ship and I wanted to preview for Alaska but I will not recruise on this ship. Small inadequate spa, missing hot chairs and hot tub, out of the ingredients for the massages I wanted. Long lines for dining and shows, everything sold out on 1st day of cruise, and stand by was no ...

Mainly for the Panama Canal The first thing Norwegian did was a few days prior to sailing was to cancel a destination and substitute it for a lesser destination. Never had this happen before many people were not happy about this . The entertainment was good but having to make reservations for these venues was trying . First time i saw a single story theater so space was limited The ship ...

It was my husband's fall break from school and my dad and his wife could fit this cruise into their schedule so for the first time we were able to take a cruise together. We had been looking forward to it for many months. We flew into San Diego a day earlier and got a night at the nearby Best Western prior to embarkation. Embarkation went smoothly. After checking in, we had to wait about ...

Disappointment from prior Nieuw Amsterdam cruises

Stateroom Attendant service was outstanding.. Quality of Lincoln Center Stage musicians and recitals were world class. Panama Canal presentations and speaker were excellent. The actual transit was normal : 8 hours from coast to coast...glad it was cloudy to keep the hot sun at bay... Visible changes to the ship from last dry dock are minimal....New cushions on the deck chairs and Lido pool ...

Ship Needs Refurbishment

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Grand Princess

User Avatar

The staff are wonderful and so helpful, but the ship is old. I’ve cruised on the Grand numerous times. The elevators were alway having problems. Not being able to take the stairs was always an inconvenience and having to wait. The ladies restrooms always had at least one stall that was “under maintenance” and sometimes two out of the three were not working. Disembarkation and embarkation ...
