Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

We thought it would be a great idea to try a mainstream cruise line after hearing good things about NCL from others. We usually choose Windstar or Star Clippers or other small ship, but I've been on a dozen cruises, including Holland America. Ship information - the ship is big and crowded. Finding a lounge chair remained largely elusive for the week as scores of passengers threw their towel on a ...

Had a good time, but could have been better

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Sapphire Princess

Fellow passengers: We are aged 45 and 50 and were expecting an average age of 50 on the ship. I'd say the average was more like 70. Cabin: Deck 11 aft balcony cabin was very nice. Plenty of room, clean, bed comfortable. All in all very pleasant. Our cabin steward seemed stretched to get everything done, but he kept our room in good order. Food: Some hits and some misses. We had the anytime ...

Loved this cruise itinerary as it went into the Sea of Cortez. We got to swim with the Whale Sharks. It was amazing! Water was chilly in January, but I came prepared with tights and swim jacket. We met so many nice people on Princess. We've cruised with many other lines, but this was our first Princess. Was a little disappointed in the food quality. Had better food on Carnival and I had ...

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Carnival Miracle

We have cruised Carnival before, and have always been pleased. Sadly, this past cruise was a disappointment. We had purchased a Faster to the Fun (fttf) pass. We looked forward to getting aboard the ship early as promised and having our luggage immediately. That didn't happen. We had to wait outside until almost 12:30. When we did start moving there was quite a bit of confusion as to what line we ...

I decided to go on a Princess cruise for the 1st time. I have been on 14 others but this was my first with Princess and it was on the Sapphire. The ship was decorated in a very celebratory way. I loved it. However, the food was not at all good. Nor was there a great variety as I had previously experienced. I had to send two dinners back as I couldn't even cut them with a steak knife and I thought ...

Thanksgiving on the Miracle.....

For the 2nd year in a row, we spent Thanksgiving on the 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise. Here is a brief review and some tips: Embarkation: At Long Beach you first check your luggage with a porter on the ground floor of the parking garage (not at the check-in area which is across the street). If you arrive early (before noon), you are sent to the Queen Mary to check in. If you arrive after boarding ...

A Good Job Carnival

After cruising with Celebrity a few years back (Fantastic) and on the Golden Princess (very good) we were a little apprehensive about carnival considering some of the negative reviews. Anyway, we booked and left LA on the 17th November 2013. Embarkation was very slow and unorganized. We were shuffled from one check in place to the next, and it seemed that no carnival staff could tell us why or ...

Underwhelmed by the Walmart Cruise

I was disappointed with Carnival. It was easily two steps down from the Celebrity Sillouhette cruise I took this summer. Huge, slow line to get onboard at Long Beach. The good: 1. Plenty of elevators so getting around was easy 2. Obstructed view balcony room was a good deal and a large, comfortable room 3. Plenty of tables to eat, lots of deck chairs 4. The $35 restaurant was a ton of food ...

The name Miracle might be what Carnival was shooting for, what they delivered is another thing. Not my first cruise, but it could be my last. Cruise was a 7 night from LA, Sea, Cabo, Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, Sea, Sea. I'll be fair in all aspects. Traveled with my family of 5 on two extended balconies. rooms 5140 and 6226 Embarkation: Completely smooth process. Plenty of baggage handlers to help you ...

Counter says there are no comment cards and to wait until after cruise, but wanted to submit these now So here is our first night at the spa, and day in 7180 It says to take a tour in order to get a raffle ticket, raffle time comes and people who admittedly had no tickets and didng take tour, were given tickets One of those people won something, so we spent 30+ minutes to falsedly gain no ...
