We chose this cruise because my hubby and i wanted to see the pacific side of mexico, Why not on a NEW SHIP?! .We only have Celebrity to measure to but here is what we found... the main DR was ALWAYS cold...like very cold. The food was just...meh.. and the decor was not as nice as celebrity, however.. playing to a different crowd, i wouldnt want to have it super posh and kids jumping all over it. ...

Cruise was a gift to us, but glad we went. Outstanding food and service, entertainment lagging except for the Boardwalk piano players and BB Kong’s. Needs more at sea activities. Nice casino. We did excursions from vendors at the ports rather than through the ship. I would sail on the Oosterdam again, would take more books to read, and study up on excursions! This was my second Caraval Cruise my first was with Dream. I have to say it was easy bordering ship just beware uphill walking to get on board in terminal. Mothers 90th birthday, port is local/easy drive, like the ship overall, always enjoy the Riviera. We have sailed on the Royal 8 times and enjoy the ship. It's not as nice as the Emerald and such, as the layout of this ship is awkward. Having the open deck on 7, is quite enjoyable for most people.. They Royal forces you to stay inside, unless you go up to deck 16, which is often too windy/cold. ...

For us this was the cruise of a life time for us. Celebrating a Birthday, 45th wedding anniversary and retirement Cruise. We live on the east coast. And proberly will not go west ever again. So we picked this one. The itinerary was great. The island of Moorea was the most beautiful island we have ever seen. True paradise. I choose this cruise because wanted to do the Panama Canal it was our first time with Princess and will be the last time.
The food was terrible with no variety with lots of junk food deep fried
We like fine dining there were none
It’s started at the airport pick up 3 hrs late and 2 hrs to embark cruise we were supposed to leave at 4 pm and left at 8.30

We got off the Carnival Panorama at the Long Beach port after returning to our rooms for one additional night as one passenger was Covid 19 tested and the 4000 of us had to wait for that one passengers result. Just back from a week on the Panorama plus a bonus day on the ship when a passenger got sick and needed medical testing to ensure it wasn’t corona. It wasn’t, thank goodness.

My wife was invited by Princess Players Club with an unbelievable price for this cruise and we could not refuse. First time with medallion, best feature for starters is door unlocked came down to my cabin with a bowl of fries and a drink while riding my scooter so no fiddling with cruise card just open door.
