Well, we are soooooo ready to go. Everything is taken care of (we hope) and tomorrow morning we will leave the house at about 10:00 AM for the 1½ to 2 hour drive to the airport.
Our flight leaves at 2:40 PM and this being a flight to the good old USA the check-in could be a PITA so we figure we should be at the airport at least 2 hours before the flight.
As mentioned ...
We chose this cruise because our friends asked us to join them to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. We have cruised from California to Hawaii twice before. So, we expected the cold weather for the crossings but we had never experienced such rough seas both going and coming back. We are seasoned cruisers and have never been seasick. However, my husband was sea sick twice. The ship is in ...
Sailed out of San Francisco with a couple of rough days at sea (thank you cruisecritic reviewers for the fair warning) during the first couple of days. Weather changed from chilly to nice and warm when the seas calmed. The four sea days going over seemed long, but then a different port each day seemed pretty hectic.
Thanks to Princess' miscommunications about their excursions not being ...
Embarkation and disembarking were the best I've experienced! The cruise was the absolute worst! The crew for the most part were very rude. Our cabin steward would not fill up our ice and did a horrible job at cleaning the cabin. The casino was always packed and impossible to find a machine to play. The grand princess is very dated. We noticed numerous water leake, they put buckets in the halls. ...
We booked a flight through EZAir and everything went according to plan. We also used the Princess transfer and that too went without trouble.
We started off on the wrong foot with this cruise. Princess had my S&S card, but no S&S card for DH. We were told to take a seat and one would be made for DH on the ship. We waited for over 45 minutes to get his card. This also happened on the last ...
This was our first time on Princess, as we had typically sailed on Carnival in years past. I will say that Carnival cruises can be a lot of fun, but we were going for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation, ideally free from kids and rowdy groups. Princess delivered.
The Ship
The Grand Princess is an older ship, but she wears it well. The interiors have been updated probably several times since ...
Princess has it right on Embarkation and Disembarkation. Smooth process proved to be one of the best. The ship is older and void of all the exciting pastimes of newer ships but full of traditional pastimes for older passengers. Cabin service was so exceptional that any flaws in furnishings was not noticed. Wow service for sure there! Food was exceptional in all aspects..better than any other ...
I would never suggest this cruise. The sea days sucked. 1 or 2 sea days aren't bad but 4 or 5 at a stretch is too much. If your under 70 you will feel like a teenager. I have never seen more elderly people in one place at a time. 1 lounge area was nicknamed "Gods waiting room" The ship was very outdated and had very few activities like newer ships have. The service and food were great! ...
My family just came back from a seven day cruise to Mexico on Ruby Princess. I should have listened to the comments on food from people cruising on this ship recently. We dined in one of the main dining rooms every night, hoping the food would get better, but got disappointed again and again. They have good ingredients but bad cooking, especially with seafood and steak. Lunch buffet was as ...
We've been on 30 Princess cruises and this just wasn't up to our expectations. Terrible WiFi connections, NO butter on the dinner tables for the bread and we hadf to ask numerous times before they reluctantly delivered it and then only gave a few. More than a few times someone at our table did not get their dinner and had to remind the waiter what they had ordered. We are really upset that our ...
