The Orion is a wonderful ship, and well-crewed. For the ship and crew I would give 4.5+ stars. I could not recommend this itinerary however, my 3rd experience with Viking. Ports of Call were mostly ugly industrial shipping harbors, and even the paid shore excursions seemed to offer little for the effort and discomfort involved being ashore. Viking really does everything right: All-inclusive pricing, almost no extras (some excursions are extra), absolutely delicious food every meal, almost no sense of crowding, fantastic destinations. The suite was superb, the deck, massive. Aft cabin. Quite a bit of noise from the wash behind but I expected that. Cabin staff were superb, cannot fault them. With the suite came perks. All staff were very friendly. What is not good? Almost zero outdoor, pool deck activity! Only once every two weeks some food or live music on the pool deck. No music anywhere when the show is on.
