SUN SETS ON SOLSTICE

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

We chose the Celebrity Solstice because it was rated Australia's best cruise ship 2015 and the ports of call, Hawaii, Lahaina Maui, Bora Bora,French Polynesia, Papeete,Tahiti, Moorea, French Polynesia, Auckland, Bay of Islands New Zealand, and Sydney Australia. The ports of call were great, but as seasoned travellers we did not use the ships shore excursions as they are always over priced by ...

Have just arrived back from the 18 night Tahitian cruise from Hawaii across to Sydney and have to give the greatest praise for the staff of this wonderful ship. In perspective we are a couple in our mid 50's recently retired and love mixing with new people ..and certainly we were able to meet lots new friends onboard. We had a balcony cabin mid ship (7157) and it was very comfortable and ...

Did not live up to our expectations

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

We chose this cruise to celebrate our 70th birthdays and the fact that we could spend a month with our daughter in Melbourne after docking in Sydney. Food is OK, only two new choices each day for starters and mains and desserts. Many extra restaurants for which premium prices are paid. Staff are excellent and friendly. Entertainment is very disappointing, mainly solo artistes who are not to ...

Celebrity Solstice Hawaii via Tahiti to Sydney!

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

Boarded ship in Honolulu and was onboard within 30 minutes. Went straight to Grand Epernay dining room for lunch. Bags arrived promptly except 1 which went astray but turned up early evening. Stateroom was Concierge 2102 up on the 12th Floor nearest the lifts. DO NOT choose this cabin as it has a storeroom right next door and then a ladies toilet. Being located close to the lifts was handy, but ...

Review for Celebrity Solstice cruise (18 nights from Honolulu to Syndney)

The cruise provides tons of entertainment. The one I personally enjoyed the most is the "Hot Glass Show". You can listen to Jazz on the lawn with lit-up candle lights around you. Very cool. I also enjoyed the closing night performance "ashley amber harris tribute to whitney Houston", which ended the trip on a high note. I would like to give my thanks to the staff who have made this trip so ...

I had a special birthday and this cruise and the next one gave me exotic places to visit with little effort. Loved the ports of call. The islands in French Polynesia were truly beautiful. We had no trouble tendering as we are Elite. Rose the Captain's Club Host looked after us well. Liked the extra sea days as there were plenty of addition events put on for us by Ken Mills and his staff. The ...

Very good cruise

We wanted to go to New Zealand and Australia. Overall we enjoyed the trip. However, we generally prefer smaller ships. For this trip, the Solstice was a good choice. Our room was a designated handicapped room with balcony (we didn't require a handicapped room, but it was available and the shipboard location was good). The room size was generous for a cruise liner. Dining was good though not ...

Honolulu is a very vibrant city with all the bells and whistles of any US metropolis, hotels can be expensive, but there are deals to be had so do your homework. Food choices abound in Honolulu , so once again , researching in advance will help you zero in on your personal choices and budget. Bottom line is , everything is there , you just need to find it. There also is some construction going ...

Better than expected

Returned to Hawaii for our 30th Anniversary. This itinerary (and the fact that I despise sea days) drew us to the Pride of America, but I've been hesitant because I feared Norwegian was a second class line. Well, I was wrong. I was impressed with the quality of the service, the food (ate in several specialty restaurants), entertainment, and the ship excursions ( even though you pay more, you get ...

I will preface this by saying this is 2 reviews. The first by myself and the second by my wife. We hope enjoy the different points of view. Here is my review: We arrived the day before the cruise and spent the day at Turtle Bay Resort on the north shore. This is a 5 star resort and we highly recommend it. Make sure you check out the Roy's Restaurant located on the property. It has a Million ...
