Chose this cruise because of the destinations. Found embarkation could have been handled better ie. long time queuing. Hard sales for drinks packages which were extortionate compared to other cruise lines, speciality restaurants and always pushing for booking another cruise in the news letter received every evening in the cabin. Excursions were also expensive compared to other cruise lines and not ...
The beautiful ship and diverse, paradise destinations were an irresistible combination. The excellent service and entertainment more than lived up to our expectations. As Aqua Class cruisers, we dined in Blu for the first time and were very happy with the meals and the service. The only drawback as a Blu diner was that we were not able to invite non-Aqua guests to join us because of limited ...
Honolulu to Sydney - While we do not usually give extra tips money on this cruise our service was so good we gave extra to a number of the staff. We did not expect the greatest entertainment as this was a transpacific voyage but what was presented was done well. The food was excellent, the wait staff was very gracious. All the staff seemed happy and more than willing to please. If they sensed ...
The cruise provides tons of entertainment. The one I personally enjoyed the most is the "Hot Glass Show". You can listen to Jazz on the lawn with lit-up candle lights around you. Very cool. I also enjoyed the closing night performance "ashley amber harris tribute to whitney Houston", which ended the trip on a high note.
I would like to give my thanks to the staff who have made this trip so ...
I had a special birthday and this cruise and the next one gave me exotic places to visit with little effort. Loved the ports of call. The islands in French Polynesia were truly beautiful. We had no trouble tendering as we are Elite. Rose the Captain's Club Host looked after us well. Liked the extra sea days as there were plenty of addition events put on for us by Ken Mills and his staff. The ...
We wanted to go to New Zealand and Australia. Overall we enjoyed the trip. However, we generally prefer smaller ships. For this trip, the Solstice was a good choice.
Our room was a designated handicapped room with balcony (we didn't require a handicapped room, but it was available and the shipboard location was good). The room size was generous for a cruise liner.
Dining was good though not ...
I read a few reviews of this cruise before taking it. Now I want to add a little. Stuff I wish I knew before. I live in Hawaii, have lived on Oahu since 2007, Because of my previous time in the Military and now retired doing my current job, I've been to all the islands. However, my family has not. I thought this would be an excellent way to let them get a glimpse of all the islands and well ...
I chose this cruise because a friend organized it and invited 9 of us to join him. The group was very compatible which made the trip a lot of fun. I have used Holland America, Princess and RCI and found the staff especially in the dining rooms and entertainment areas very good. They included everyone young and old in their fun activities.
We paid extra for the balcony suite and it was well ...
My husband and I just returned from our 7 day cruise in Hawaii. For anyone who is looking to visit multiple island, this is the way to go! I do not have anything to compare my experience to expect other reviews. I found that the embankment process was pretty smooth. There were enough POA reps to assist w/ questions. We were on the ship with in an hour of arriving to the port. We sat down at the ...
Honolulu is a very vibrant city with all the bells and whistles of any US metropolis, hotels can be expensive, but there are deals to be had so do your homework.
