This cruise was a once in a lifetime experience. I read the reviews online. The excursions seemed exciting. The ship looked beautiful. Our connections were great. Our agent from NCL lined everything up perfectly. Our hotel in Waikiki was more than we expected. It was Oceanview and lovely. We had time to explore the beach area. What a wonderful start! Embarkation went very smoothly. There was a ...

We chose the cruise because it is the only game in town if you want a Hawaiian cruise. The price seemed reasonable....until you find out the EVERYTHING is an extra cost. And overpriced. Service was spotty, with a few rare exceptions of competent, pleasant staff. A few staff actually were a major negative factor to our experience, and we are truly easygoing, low-maintenance travelers. Our cabin ...

Two weeks ago a friend and I traveled on the Pride of America around Hawaii. I had very low expectations of the cruise, but it was better than I expected, because of the specialty restaurants and the shore excursions. I thought the cruise was expensive for what you got, but it is the only cruise around Hawaii, so we had to book it. The ship was very clean. Service was spotty on the ship. ...

We wanted to get a taste of several islands without the hassle of flying between each. The cruise was an unpack once option that allowed us to spend time on 4 islands. We booked an ocean view cabin with a large window. We saved a considerable sum by not choosing a balcony room, after all the ship sailed at night for majority of cruise and was in port most days where only view was of containers, ...

Chose this cruise in order to see as much of Hawaii as possible in a limited amount of time. The itinerary is exceptional. The embarkation process was easy - you're invited to embark anytime after noon, with the ship sailing at 7 in the evening, but what they don't tell you ahead of time is that you won't be able to go to your cabins until late afternoon - 4 pm at the earliest . We arrived ...

Been on four different cruises, this by far was the worst. I don't know what other people think but I do not like writing poor reports but this one can't be helped. First off we were supposed to be met at the airport by a cruise representative, "If one is not present go to baggage pick G and someone from the shuttle company will be there". No one was there and the shuttle company was locked up and ...

Elegant ship let down by the food

The itinerary appealed to me and the time of year was perfect. I was led to believe that Cunard were an upmarket company but several things were not up to standard. Having sailed on several ships with companies as diverse as Thompson, Fred Olsen, MSC, Royal Caribbean, P and O, Princess,Holland America and Azamara I would place Cunard somewhere in the middle. My cabin was fine with an amazing ...

On March 4, 2017, my wife and I disembarked from an 18 Day round trip cruise from San Diego, CA. to Hawaii aboard the Holland America cruise ship ms Westerdam. First let me tell you what we liked about our journey, because I also want to let you know what we DID NOT like, and why we were very disappointed in this overall cruise experience. The 2 young men, Rozi and Nana, that ...

We were invited to join some friends on this cruise. Since my partner hates to fly and this left from our Hometown of San Diego-we decided to give it at try. We are 2 star Mariners and although we've been on many cruises but never one with so many sea days and we were apprehensive. We booked a balcony VB4166. The room is standard but the veranda is twice as large as the others on the upper ...

Loved the days in the islands!

We scheduled this cruise because it gave us six days on four islands (with an overnight in Honolulu) which seemed to balance out the sea days. It also included a night passing of Kilauea with the spectacular sight of lava entering the sea the highlight of the cruise for me. We have sailed with HAL before on other long cruises and knew that it would be an older crowd (I think only 8 children) ...
