I give my thoughts as this is my 20th + cruise and have traveled with several lines. I chose this cruise as it should be 21 days of what I had hoped would be getting to know other guests and chat. I was not aware there are huge changes of guests at every port visited. Not ideal I think. Food is all quite bland In complementary restaurants. There are several pay to eat restaurants with high ...
We chose this world cruise excited to visit some of our bucket list destinations. While visiting Egypt became impossible due to conflict in the region we were still thrilled we would be going to Rhodes. But not to be. More than half the cruise has been made up of sea days with substandard destinations. Food has bern appalling with regular absence of fresh fruit, salad and now no coffee available ...
We are currently on this terrible cruise
Over 500 people on board have signed a petition protesting the way MSC are treating us.
1. So many sea days
Change of itinerary increasing itinerary to an extra 20 sea days, less port times, and no compensation for these changes or refunds of tax and port fees.
As compared to other cruise companies such as Cunard, princess, costa etc who have ...
I absolutely loved my time on the Viking Alruna. This is the second Viking cruise I’ve been on and loved it just as much as the first one (first time with friends instead of family).
The staff was amazing, the accommodations and food were great, the stops were fantastic. Special shoutout the BILLY, Alexandra, Van Allen, Laurentiu, Shemy, and Uri. All contributed to our time being enjoyable and ...
MSC said the ship was refurbished in 2023 and they must be talking about the exterior of the ship. The public stairs lot dated with the teal and chocolate motif. The cabins are either navy or bordello red. The furniture in the cabin is worn, sun bleached and dated, think 90’s. Dining options are limited. There is the main dining room offering a selection of reoccurring average to say the best ...
After some time in Panama City and a slow trip back home, our bags are unpacked and I am now provide this very subjective, but hopefully balance, review. Overall, we had an excellent cruise with good to excellent food and service. By way of background, we have only sailed on Oceania and this was our 6th cruise with them.
Embarkation
We had registered for a 12:30 boarding time but found ...
We've sailed with P&O many times, first sailing with them back in 2011. This was the first time we were going to receive 'priority' boarding, however our embarkation time was delayed due to the requirement for the ship to be deep cleaned after a gastro intestinal disease outbreak. We arrived on time for our delayed embarkation and waited two hours outside before we were let into the terminal. We ...
This was our 3rd Viking cruise, but our first ocean one. The general consensus was that if we had never taken a Viking river cruise then this would have been the best experience we’ve ever had. However the larger ship with the greater population, while well managed, lacks the intimacy of the river longships. An example is dining in the restaurant. The open seating with the smaller tables was not ...
While on the boat and in the room all is wonderful. Food is fantastic and service wonderful. Purchasing the silver alcohol upgrade isn’t really valuable because half of the waiter/bar staff don’t seem to understand it and even charged me for upgrades beyond having paid for silver . The extensions of front and back as well as the flights picked by Viking are not just poor they are outright bad. We ...
Experienced cruisers on multiple lines over many years, Regent, Oceania, Seabourn, Celebrity, Cunard, Carnival, Royal Carribean, and in our opinion Viking is not good value for money.
Room attendants were excellent. Another postive is that only over 18 allowed on board. Embarkation and disembarkation good. In room TV entertainment good.
Food was medicocre and lacks options. Only 2 ...
