Chose this itinerary for the Tulips and Windmills! Wonderful ship, crew, food, entertainment, ports of call!! We had an issue with the airlines and loss of luggage. The onboard staff at Viking was helpful and made sure we had the essentials we needed. Also brought us dinner to our cabin at 10:00 pm! They also followed up with the airline to track and get our luggage to us. We got our luggage ...
This was our first cruise with Azamara and sixth overall. The ship returned to the fleet after an overhaul in May 2022. Veranda cabins are 176 square feet but adequate. There were about 590 on board with a crew of 400. We boarded in Lisbon in a very efficient fashion. Orientation was quick and smooth. We went to our cabin and then directly to the pool bar Deck 9 mid-ship. The Windows Cafe buffet ...
We are (were) First Time Viking Cruisers. We totally 100% enjoyed our overall experience, however, we would most likely not take another Viking cruise. The reason being is we are not "Tour Bus" type of travelers and this is what Viking offers for the On-Shore Excursions. You are restricted to what Viking chooses. And the "Guides" are just average at best. We found the Guides just ramble on a lot ...
This was our first river cruise (we've taken many ocean cruises). We (my husband & I) traveled with another couple. We chose Avalon, and this particular itinerary, because we had friends who had sailed with them about a year and a half ago (yes, fall of 2021) and recommended it. I also did my research and chose Avalon because of the various excursion choices that are included in the cost of ...
Lets start with the positives!
Ambience must be THE friendliest ship I’ve cruised on. You only have to sit with a coffee and the person next to you will begin chatting and you end up having a lovely and unexpected talk with them. Same at mealtimes and in the evenings. As a solo cruiser I really loved this aspect
Entertainment - the young show team were exceptional. Not just the dancing ...
Brazil being on our travel bucket list and cruising being our favourite type of holiday we thought this holiday would be perfect. It was the complete opposite.
Food- Disgusting. Raw chicken, tiny portions, horrible selection, half the buffet shut, need I go on? I think MSC are keeping the cuttlefish afloat as for some strange reason that was on every night. The food was so bad there was times ...
It was our honeymoon and my first trip “over the pond” to embark on a cruise down the river Rhine via Viking’s Rolf. It was the best way to experience this amazing part of Europe! I would highly recommend a Viking River Cruise simply because you can unpack and enjoy the shore excursions at each port! It’s a floating hotel! The tour guides are very knowledgeable and provide so much insight to ...
It seemed to be a very interesting cruise, with the opportunity to visit places that we had never been to or for some time. The food on Viking Jupiter was excellent, the offerings in the Chef's Table were magnificent, the menus we chose were Great Britain 2: Cuisine from an Island Nation and Erlings Nordic Bistro. The second one was very Scandinavian themed, and very enjoyable. The entertainment ...
We took 4 of our grown children and their spouses to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary year. Our expectations were high and Viking exceeding them. This was our first River Cruise so we were not sure what to expect. We have been on a number of Ocean cruises and we anxious how Viking might measure up. They nailed it. Wonderful - no - spectacular food, outstanding service, and it far ...
The Viking River cruise was the very best. From everyone on the staff to the destinations, I loved it all. From the moment we arrived at the boat, everything was taken care of, and we felt right at home. I loved that everyone arrived at different times, so there was very little waiting around. Our room was not ready when we first got on the boat, so they sent us to the lounge to get food and ...
