MSC Sinfonia is one of the oldest ships in the fleet, so don't book for the things it doesn't have, such as Yacht club, speciality dining, robot bartenders, water slides, and big production shows. Book for the destination ports and value for money.
The ship was on a continuous circular Eastern Mediterranean itinerary catering predominately for the Italian market, but with many other Europeans ...
The food and staff where fantastic.
We were very disappointed that we didn't get to do the entire cruise. The reason that was relayed to the passengers was the water levels where to high to go through the lock system. On Day 3 we made it about half way up the Douro river and it stopped.
We were of the understanding when we went to an information session prior to booking the cruise that ...
This was our 5th P&O cruise and the 1st time on IONA. We travelled as a party of three, two adults and a teenager. This was also the largest number of fellow guest passengers we have ever sailed with circa 5.5k. The ship was full. Boarding that many passengers is always going to be a challenge, which was the case, slightly longer than normal with the process taking around 90 mins from parking the ...
Positives:
Excellent value for money.
Housekeeping superb.
Friendly bar staff.
Very comfortable beds.
Some lovely bars on deck 8 and nice general restaurant (Thalassa) on deck 7
Negatives:
General issue onboard with regards to hygiene, half of hand sanitizers consistently empty, concerning when there was plenty of coughing and sneezing onboard.
Problem with A/C in room ...
Executive Summary. (If you are not an executive, skip this paragraph.) The itinerary was "In Search of the Northern Lights." We saw the Lights four times over three nights, so in a sense this was a successful cruise. However, although Viking does many things well, they failed in one very important component - they did not meet the expectations of my taste buds! The menus were good, but the ...
Our very first cruise . ( we usually stay in good 4 star hotels for point of reference )
Embarkation : this was a bit odd, arriving an hour early there was nowhere to prompt us where to go . Inside the terminal we thought ...but no ..we were supposed to line up outside next to the taxi rank , but it wasnt organized yet , nor was there anything telling you where it would be .We were on the ship ...
There are going to be a lot of very negative reviews for this cruise, and there were many problems with it. There were four missed ports, an itinerary change after final deposits were made, and a lot of difficulties with ports that were visited.
Additionally, the passengers on this cruise were exceptionally savvy travelers, and exceptionally sophisticated and experienced frequent cruisers with ...
First, it is a beautiful ship, but (a) the first 2 cruises were cancelled because the ship wasn't ready and (b) not all of the venues were open when we boarded what turned out to be the 3rd cruise. This was obviously disappointing.
Next, let me tell you my notes before we boarded the ship. We could not book any specialty restaurants until 30 days before we sailed. The Princess app is slow. ...
It was nice being on a brand new ship but we were really disappointed on what wasn’t open especially most of Park 19 and the arena. The dome was very busy when it was opened so we didn’t get a chance to enjoy it. The pools were nice especially the pool area in the forward of the ship that had two hot tubs. To summarize I’d say this: Great port stops, awesome staff, great teen club that my kids ...
As expected, all of the Viking staff were very helpful and responsive and provided exceptional service. Additionally, the ship (Herja) was in excellent condition, clean, and comfortable.
This was our second Viking cruise, 2014 being our first. I was surprised that we needed to bus between Zurich and Basel. More surprising, and quite disappointing, was the 6.5 hours on the bus from Trier to ...
